The f-chart design method is presented for solar space and water heating systems. The information gained from many simulations of solar heating systems has been used to develop this f-chart. Actual hourly weather data collected in Yuseong, Korea, from 1971 to 1980 have been utilized in these simulations. The system performance estimates obtained from the f-chart are in close agreement with the results of the simulations.

Sophora flavescens(Leguminosae) has been used as anthelmintic, detoxicant, antiinflammatory and the treatment for pyrogenic infections of the skin. The antioxidative effect of Sophora flavescens was investigated. The MeOH ex. and its hexan, EtOAc and BuOH and water fractions were examined free radical scavenging activity by DPPH method, antilipid peroxidation activity on rat liver homogenate and tyrosinase inhibition activity by mushroom tyrosinase. The EtOAc fraction showed the free radical scavenging, antilipidemic and tyrosinase inhibition activities.
절연성 TaN<sub>x</sub> 박막의 전기전도 기구

Insulating $TaN_x$ films were grown by plasma enhanced atomic layer deposition using butylimido tris dimethylamido tantalum and $N_2+H_2$ mixed gas as metalorganic source and reactance gas, respectively. Crossbar devices having a $Pt/TaN_x/Pt$ stack were fabricated and their electrical properties were examined. The crossbar devices exhibited temperature-dependent nonlinear I (current) - V (voltage) characteristics in the temperature range of 90-300 K. Various electrical conduction mechanisms were adopted to understand the governing electrical conduction mechanism in the device. Among them, the PooleFrenkel emission model, which uses a bulk-limited conduction mechanism, may successfully fit with the I - V characteristics of the devices with 5- and 18-nm-thick $TaN_x$ films. Values of ~0.4 eV of trap energy and ~20 of dielectric constant were extracted from the fitting. These results can be well explained by the amorphous micro-structure and point defects, such as oxygen substitution ($O_N$) and interstitial nitrogen ($N_i$) in the $TaN_x$ films, which were revealed by transmission electron microscopy and UV-Visible spectroscopy. The nonlinear conduction characteristics of $TaN_x$ film can make this film useful as a selector device for a crossbar array of a resistive switching random access memory or a synaptic device.

This paper describes a procedure for assessing the economic feasibility of a solar heating system in terms of the life cycle savings of a solar heating system over a conventional heating system. Using the generalized life cycle savings equation, a method is developed for determining the optimal collector size of a solar heating system in accordance with the criterion of maximizing the life cycle savings. Information gained from a simulation of a solar heating system is used to establish the relationship between system performance and the system design variables. Actual hourly weather data collected in Yu Seong, Korea, from 1971 to 1980 have been utilized in this simulation. The results of optimization are presented in tabular and graphical forms. Numerical examples are presented for a solar house with a floor space of 30 pyeong(99㎡) designed by Ko-Solar Inc. These examples show that solar heating systems may now be economically competitive with conventional heating systems under certain economic conditions.

The employment of networked control systems(NCSs) where control systems are interconnected by communication networks is a major trend in modem industry using control applications. The networked-induced delays are inevitable in NCSs and they may deteriorate the control performance and system stability. Therefore, it is necessary to design an appropriate controller in order to compensate the time delays. The objective of this paper is to design a controller using a time delay model for desired control performance of NCSs. LQR optimal controllers are designed using the time delay model. The control performance is validated through a case study.

The author injected vinylite into the pulmonary vessels of 53 cases of Korean children to make cast specimens. The specimens were classified by the number of branches, originations, shapes, directions and interrelationship between branches and the data thus obtained were analyzed statistically and dominant and variant types were observed. 1. Right pulmonary artery branched into superior, middle and inferior lobe. The types of branches in each lobe, 6 types in middle lobe and 4 ?? 2. Right superior pulmonary vein branched into superior and middle lobe, and right inferior pulmonary vein into inferior lobe. The types of branches in each lobe were as follows, 16 types in superior lobe, 7 types in middle lobe and 9 types in inferior lobe. 3. Left pulmonary artery branched into superior and inferior lobe. 9 types of branches were observed in each lobe. 4. Left superior pulmonary vein branched into superior lobe and left inferior pulmonary vein into inferior lobe. 10 and 4 types of branches were observed respectively.
