BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: The objective of this study was to determine dysphagia risk among community-dwelling elderly people living at home. We also examined the impact of socio-demographic variables on dysphagia risk as well as the relationship between dysphagia risk and dietary characteristics. SUBJECTS/METHODS: The study sample included 568 community-dwelling individuals, aged 65 years and above, who were living independently in their own home in Seoul, Gyeonggi, or Gwangju in South Korea. We used a dysphagia risk assessment scale to screen for dysphagia risk and the Mini nutritional assessment to evaluate the nutritional status. Associations between dysphagia risk and other variables were assessed using logistic regression analysis. RESULTS: Of the 568 subjects, 350 (61.6%) were classified into the dysphagia risk group (DR) and 218 (38.4%) were classified into the normal group (non-DR). Being female (odds ratio (OR) = 1.82, 95% confidence interval (CI) = 1.28-2.59), being 75 years and older (OR = 2.40, 95% CI = 1.69-3.42), having a lower education level (OR = 2.29, 95% CI = 1.33-3.97), and having a lower perceived economic status (OR = 2.18, 95% CI = 1.32-3.60) were more frequently observed with dysphagia risk compared to those who did not have such characteristics. Lowered mastication ability (OR = 14.40, 95% CI = 4.43-46.95), being at risk of malnutrition or malnourished (OR = 2.72, 95% CI = 1.75-4.23), lowered appetite (OR = 3.27, 95% CI = 2.16-4.93), and decreased food intake (OR = 2.95, 95% CI = 1.83-4.78) were observed more frequently in the DR group than in the non-DR group when adjusting for potential confounding factors. CONCLUSIONS: It is necessary to develop and apply integrated programs to improve the dietary habits and nutritional status of elderly individuals at risk for dysphagia, especially for women aged 75 years or older with lower educational and economic levels.

칼만 필터를 이용한 FMCW 레이더에서의 선행 차량 탐지 및 추적

This paper proposes detection and tracking of vehicles in automotive frequency modulation continuous wave (FMCW) radar with Kalman Filter. In conventional ACC(Adaptive Cruise Control) system, it is required to keep the distance and the velocity from forward vehicles. In this paper, we propose the estimation method to track the forward vehicle at traffic congestion or inner cities through Kalman Filter. We predict and update the position, velocity and acceleration of the forward vehicles in the proposed method. We confirm that the mean square errors of position, velocity and acceleration are acceptable through the simulation studies made up from the scenario of the expected situation.

본 연구에서는 캐나다의 중등교육을 여러 가지 각도로 분류하여 살펴보고 이것을 통해서 캐나다의 교육이 어떠한 관점에서 내실을 기하고 있는지 시사점을 도출하여 우리나라의 중등교육 제도의 문제점을 개선하고자 하는 것을 목적으로 하고 있다. 캐나다의 교육과정은 굉장히 탄력적으로 운영되고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 학생들의교육과정 선택의 폭이 넓어 학생들은 능력이나 성취도에 따라 학과목을 선택할 수 있으며, 좋아하는 과목이나 분야를 심화할 수 있고 진로에 따라서도 교과목을 선택할 수 있다. 캐나다에서는 내신 성적 관리가 매우 중요한 것으로 나타났다. 대학입학에서는 고등학교 3년의 내신 성적이 대학 입학전형 자료가 될 뿐 아니라 학교생활에서도 매우 중요하다. 왜냐하면 캐나다는 졸업인증 시험제도를 두고 있기 때문에 내신 성적을 제대로 관리하지 않으면 졸업인증 시험을 통과할 수 없기 때문이다. 평가에 있어서는 추가시험을 통한 재평가 및 재수강의 기회를 제공하고 있으며, 학업능력이 부족한 학생 및 수업 결손에 대해서도 특별지도를 통해서 이를 보충할 수 있는 것으 로 나타났다. 마지막으로 상담교사의 역할이 중요하여 대학 진학 및 학교생활에서의 세부적인 부분까지 상담교사의 역할이 영향을 미치고 있는 것으로 시사되었다. The purpose of this study is to classify secondary education in Canada from various angles and to improve the problems of the secondary education system in Korea by deriving implications. The curriculum in Canada is very resilient. Students have a wide choice of curriculum, so students can choose subjects according to their ability or achievement, deepen their favorite subjects or fields, and select subjects according to their career paths. In Canada, the management of high school grades are very important. In college admissions, three years of high school grades are very important not only in college admissions, but also in school life. Because Canada has a graduation certification test system, it is not possible to pass the graduation certification exam without manage the high school grades. In the evaluation, School provides re-evaluation and retraining opportunities through additional examinations, with students who lack academic ability and lessons can learn through special guidance. Finally, it is suggested that the role of counselor is important, so that the role of counselor is influencing the details in university entrance and school life.
특이값 분해를 이용한 차량용 FMCW 레이더의 도래각 추정

This paper proposes direction of arrival (DOA) estimation method of automotive radar using frequency modulation continuous wave (FMCW). In conventional DOA estimation method, the size of automotive radar needs to be increased to get the high angular resolution. However, conventional DOA estimation method has a major disadvantage because of the limitation of automotive space. In this paper, we propose new estimation method using singular value decomposition (SVD). The time delay from two received signals is used to form two cross correlation matrices. Then we apply SVD method to get the signal subspace matrix. The simulation results show less complexity of the proposed method than conventional methods for direction of arrival estimation.

<P>A mild and practical cobalt-catalyzed defluoroborylation of fluoroarenes is presented for the first time. The method permits straightforward functionalization of fluoroarenes, with high selectivity for borylation of C-F over C-H bonds, and a tolerance for aerobic conditions. Furthermore, two-step <SUP>18</SUP>F-fluorination was achieved for expanding the scope of <SUP>18</SUP>F-positron emission tomography probes.</P> [FIG OMISSION]</BR>
