      • Les idees et la traduction

        ( Su Wei Yan ) 한국통역번역학회 2005 FORUM Vol.3 No.1

Languages such as Chinese and French are so different from one another as regard to linguistic structure that the translation can never be done from a purely linguistic dimension. In such context, what should the starting point be for a translator doing his work? In other words, what`s the target of a translating operation? It is nothing but the idea, which results from understanding and cognitive interpretation of original expression. Every translation means persona interpretation of translator. The idea, to a certain extent, emerged from understanding in non-verbal form. The same idea not only gave birth to author`s expression but also generates the expression by which the translator reformulates, in his turn, what he understood in the original text.

Quantitative study on erosion degree of bone china glaze by common acid reagent at different temperature

        Wei Hong,Wen-jie Li,Hui-chao Huang,Xiao-wei Weng,Yi-qin Zhang,Xiao-hui Liu,Yan-hua Guo,Ya-bin Su 한양대학교 청정에너지연구소 2022 Journal of Ceramic Processing Research Vol.23 No.6

In this experiment, we selected "Tangshan bone china" 10.5-inch white porcelain flat plate produced by five differententerprises as experimental samples to study the erosion of bone porcelain enamel by different kinds of acidic reagents atdifferent temperatures. The specific experimental process was as follows: at different temperatures, 20% hydrochloric acid,30% sulfuric acid, 100 g/L citric acid and 10% acetic acid were used to continuously erode the sample glaze for 10h, and thewhiteness and 45º mirror direction gloss were measured every 2h. The results show that different acidic reagents at differenttemperatures have significant differences in the erosion characteristics and strength of bone porcelain glaze, and the corrosionresistance of products from different enterprises also have significant differences.

      • Influence of the River Ceasing on Wetland Environment in the Yellow River Delta

( Yan Xi Shi ),( Seong Won Ann ),( Wei Feng Chen ),( Su Feng Tian ),( Hong Nam Kim ) 한국녹지환경디자인학회 2005 녹지환경학회지 Vol.1 No.1

The Yellow River came to cease, which was affected by natural factors and the unreasonable human activities. The flow broke in the Yellow River, and water and sediment flowing into the sea decreased, which lowered the speed of newly formed wetland extending to the sea. The water environment deteriorated; its composing structure tended to be unsteady; the biologic diversity decreased and wetland function reduced. To ensure that the Yellow River delta and its ecosystem develops sustainability, it is significant to reduce times and days of the ceasing, keep certain runoff and sediments in the river to the sea and make its watercourse stable.

EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF PARTICULATE EMISSION CHARACTERISTICS FROM A GASOLINE DIRECT INJECTION ENGINE DURING STARTING PROCESS

        Yan Su,Fangxi Xie,Wei Hong,Xiaoping Li,Tingting Hu 한국자동차공학회 2019 International journal of automotive technology Vol.20 No.2

The engine starting process presents high particulate emissions in exhaust. This study gives a systematic investigation on particulate emission characteristics, including particulate matter (PM) mass, soluble organic fraction (SOF) mass, C10-C26 n-Alkanes and particle-bound polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), that have been emitted from a gasoline direct injection (GDI) engine measured by Gas chromatography–mass spectrometry during starting period. The results show that particulate emissions under the warm coolant start condition decline dramatically compared with the cold start condition. 90 % of particulate number (PN) emitted during the cold and warm start periods generally are nucleation-mode particles. Over 50 % PM mass and PAHs emissions are emitted in the first 0−13 s stage. SOF mass accounts more than 60 % in PM mass emissions, especially under the warm coolant start condition. Some C23-C26 n-Alkanes are detected under the cold start condition which demonstrates that partial particulate composition directly comes from lubricant. The concentration of the two ring PAHs is the lowest among PAHs while the four to six ring PAHs are higher under the cold start operation. The toxicity of PAHs which is evaluated by Benzo(a)pyrene equivalent toxicity (BEQ) value of the total PAHs emissions shows a decline of 66.83 % under the warm start condition.

PARTICULATE MATTER AND PARTICLE-BOUND PAHS EMISSIONS FROM GASOLINE DIRECT INJECTION (GDI) ENGINE WITH METHANOL-GASOLINE BLENDED FUEL DURING START

        Wei Hong,Chao Yuan,Fangxi Xie,Yan Su,Jing Chen 한국자동차공학회 2018 International journal of automotive technology Vol.19 No.4

The effects of coolant’s temperature on emissions of particulate matters (PM) and particle-bound polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) from a gasoline direct injection (GDI) engine were studied during the start process using gasoline (M0) and gasoline mixed with methanol in 15 % volume (M15). The engine worked at a certain idle speed automatically under different coolant’s temperature conditions after successful start. The experimental data was recorded from 0 to 40 seconds during the start. Results indicated that, there are significant differences in PM and particle-bound PAHs emissions between cold and warm start conditions. Particulate size distribution was measured with the Engine Exhaust Particle Sizer (EEPS) 3090. Compared with M0 fuel, the PM emission of M15 fuel decreased significantly, especially nucleation-mode particulate emission. The mass emission of PM was measured using the Gravimetric method. A same variation trend in PM mass emissions can be inferred for both fuels, i.e. it decreases while the coolant’s temperature increases. Compared with M0 fuel, the PM mass with M15 fuel reduces by 80 % at 20 oC coolant’s temperature. Agilent 7000B GC-QQQ was used to provide both qualitative and quantitative analysis on PAHs. The application of M15 fuel reduces the concentrations of most PAH species compared with M0 fuel, except those with smaller aromatic rings. In addition, Benzo(a)pyrene equivalent toxicity (BEQ) is calculated to evaluate the toxicity of PAHs emissions. The toxicity decreases when the GDI engine starts with higher coolant’s temperature or with M15 fuel.

Mutation of Cellulose Synthase Gene Improves the Nutritive Value of Rice Straw

        Su, Yanjing,Zhao, Guoqi,Wei, Zhenwu,Yan, Changjie,Liu, Sujiao Asian Australasian Association of Animal Productio 2012 Animal Bioscience Vol.25 No.6

Rice straw is an important roughage resource for ruminants in many rice-producing countries. In this study, a rice brittle mutant (BM, mutation in OsCesA4, encoding cellulose synthase) and its wild type (WT) were employed to investigate the effects of a cellulose synthase gene mutation on rice straw morphological fractions, chemical composition, stem histological structure and in situ digestibility. The morphological fractions investigation showed that BM had a higher leaf sheath proportion (43.70% vs 38.21%, p<0.01) and a lower leaf blade proportion (25.21% vs 32.14%, p<0.01) than WT. Chemical composition analysis showed that BM rice straw was significantly (p<0.01) higher in CP (crude protein), hemicellulose and acid insoluble ash (AIA) contents, but lower in dry matter (DM), acid detergent fiber (ADFom) and cellulose contents when compared to WT. No significant difference (p>0.05) was detected in neutral detergent fiber (NDFom) and ADL contents for both strains. Histological structure observation indicated that BM stems had fewer sclerenchyma cells and a thinner sclerenchyma cell wall than WT. The results of in situ digestion showed that BM had higher DM, NDFom, cellulose and hemicellulose disappearance at 24 or 48 h of incubation (p<0.05). The effective digestibility of BM rice straw DM and NDFom was greater than that of WT (31.4% vs 26.7% for DM, 29.1% vs 24.3% for NDFom, p<0.05), but the rate of digestion of the slowly digested fraction of BM rice straw DM and NDF was decreased. These results indicated that the mutation in the cellulose synthase gene could improve the nutritive value of rice straw for ruminants.

Haloperidol and Other Antipsychotics Exposure before Endometrial Cancer Diagnosis: A Population-based Case-control Study

        Wei-Ling Chen,Srinivasan Nithiyanantham,Yan-Chiao Mao,Chih-Hsin Muo,Chih-Pin Chuu,Shih-Ping Liu,Min-Wei Huang,Kuan-Pin Su 대한정신약물학회 2022 CLINICAL PSYCHOPHARMACOLOGY AND NEUROSCIENCE Vol.20 No.3

Objective: Endometrial cancer is the most common malignancy of the female genital tract worldwide, and the associated relationship between endometrial cancer formation and various antipsychotics need to be confirmed. Methods: We conducted a case-control study by using data from Taiwan National Health Insurance Research Database to compare individual antipsychotic exposure between females with and without endometrial cancer. Among 14,079,089 females in the 12-year population-based national dataset, 9,502 females with endometrial cancer were identified. Their medical records of exposure to antipsychotics, including quetiapine, haloperidol, risperidone, olanzapine, amisulpride, clozapine, and aripiprazole, for up to 3 years before endometrial cancer diagnosis were reviewed. Daily dosage and cumulative exposure days were analyzed in the risky antipsychotic users. Additionally, the subsequent 5-year mortality rate of endometrial cancer among users of the risky antipsychotic were also analyzed. Results: Among endometrial cancer patients, the proportion of those who have used haloperidol before being diagnosed with endometrial cancer is significantly higher than other antipsychotic users. The significant odds ratio (OR) and a 95% confidence interval of 1.75 (1.31−2.34) were noted. Furthermore, haloperidol users were associated with a significantly higher 5-year mortality rate after getting endometrial cancer than non-users. Conclusion: There is a high correlation between the use of haloperidol and endometrial cancer formation. However, the underlying pathological biomechanisms require additional investigations.

      • 5-Aza-2'-deoxycytidine Induces Hepatoma Cell Apoptosis via Enhancing Methionine Adenosyltransferase 1A Expression and Inducing S-Adenosylmethionine Production

        Liu, Wei-Jun,Ren, Jian-Guo,Li, Ting,Yu, Guo-Zheng,Zhang, Jin,Li, Chang-Sheng,Liu, Zhi-Su,Liu, Quan-Yan Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2013 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.14 No.11

In hepatocellular cancer (HCC), lack of response to chemotherapy and radiation treatment can be caused by a loss of epigenetic modifications of cancer cells. Methionine adenosyltransferase 1A is inactivated in HCC and may be stimulated by an epigenetic change involving promoter hypermethylation. Therefore, drugs releasing epigenetic repression have been proposed to reverse this process. We studied the effect of the demethylating reagent 5-aza-2'-deoxycitidine (5-Aza-CdR) on MAT1A gene expression, DNA methylation and S-adenosylmethionine (SAMe) production in the HCC cell line Huh7. We found that MAT1A mRNA and protein expression were activated in Huh7 cells with the treatment of 5-Aza-CdR; the status of promoter hypermethylation was reversed. At the same time, MAT2A mRNA and protein expression was significantly reduced in Huh7 cells treated with 5-Aza-CdR, while SAMe production was significantly induced. However, 5-Aza-CdR showed no effects on MAT2A methylation. Furthermore, 5-Aza-CdR inhibited the growth of Huh7 cells and induced apoptosis and through down-regulation of Bcl-2, up-regulation of Bax and caspase-3. Our observations suggest that 5-Aza-CdR exerts its anti-tumor effects in Huh7 cells through an epigenetic change involving increased expression of the methionine adenosyltransferase 1A gene and induction of S-adenosylmethionine production.

Effect of Sea Buckthorn Leaves on Inosine Monophosphate and Adenylosuccinatelyase Gene Expression in Broilers during Heat Stress

        Zhao, Wei,Chen, Xin,Yan, Changjiang,Liu, Hongnan,Zhang, Zhihong,Wang, Pengzu,Su, Jie,Li, Yao Asian Australasian Association of Animal Productio 2012 Animal Bioscience Vol.25 No.1

The trial was conducted to evaluate the effects of sea buckthorn leaves (SBL) on meat flavor in broilers during heat stress. A total 360 one-day-old Arbor Acre (AA) broilers (male) were randomly allotted to 4 treatments with 6 replicates pens pretreatment and 15 birds per pen. The control group was fed a basal diet, the experimental group I, II and III were fed the basal diet supplemented with 0.25%, 0.5%, 1% SBL, respectively. During the 4th week, broilers were exposed to heat stress conditions ($36{\pm}2^{\circ}C$), after which, muscle and liver samples were collected. High performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) was performed to measure the content of inosine monophosphate (IMP); Real-Time PCR was performed to determine the expression of the ADSL gene. The results showed that the content of breast muscle IMP of group I, II and III was significantly increased 68%, 102% and 103% (p<0.01) compared with the control, respectively; the content of thigh muscle IMP of group II and III was significantly increased 56% and 58% (p<0.01), respectively. Additionally, ADSL mRNA expression in group I, II and III was increased significantly 80%, 65% and 49% (p<0.01) compared with the control, respectively. The content of IMP and expression of ADSL mRNA were increased by basal diet supplemented with SBL, therefore, the decrease of meat flavor caused by heat stress was relieved.

Real-Time Tumor Gene Expression Profiling to Direct Gastric Cancer Chemotherapy: Proof-of-Concept “3G” Trial

        Yong, Wei Peng,Rha, Sun Young,Tan, Iain Bee-Huat,Choo, Su-Pin,Syn, Nicholas L.,Koh, Vivien,Tan, Shi-Hui,Asuncion, Bernadette Reyna,Sundar, Raghav,So, Jimmy Bok-Yan,Shabbir, Asim,Tan, Chee-Seng,Kim, Hy American Association for Cancer Research 2018 Clinical Cancer Research Vol.24 No.21

<P><B>Purpose:</B> The oxaliplatin plus S-1 and cisplatin plus S-1 regimens are interchangeably used in the management of advanced gastric cancer. The previously reported G-intestinal (G1) and G-diffuse (G2) intrinsic gene expression signatures showed promise for stratifying patients according to their tumor sensitivity to oxaliplatin or cisplatin.</P><P><B>Experimental Design:</B> The proof-of-concept, multicenter, open-label phase II “3G” trial was done to prospectively evaluate the feasibility and efficacy of using genomic classifiers to tailor treatment in gastric cancer. Patients’ tumors were classified as “G1” or “G2” using a nearest-prediction template method, or “G3” (unclear assignment) when FDR ≥ 0.05. The first 30 patients in the “G1” cohort were assigned oxaliplatin plus S-1 (SOX) chemotherapy; thereafter, subsequently recruited “G1” patients were treated with cisplatin plus S-1 (SP) chemotherapy. “G2” patients and “G3” patients were treated with SP and SOX chemotherapy, respectively.</P><P><B>Results:</B> A total of 48, 21, and 12 patients, respectively, were given “G1,” “G2,” and “G3” genomic assignments. Median turnaround time was 7 days (IQR, 5–9). Response rates were 44.8%, 8.3%, 26.7%, and 55.6% for the “G1-SOX,” “G1-SP,” “G2,” “G3” cohorts, respectively; and was higher in G1 patients treated with SOX compared with SP (<I>P</I> = 0.033). Exploratory analyses using the genomic classifier of Lei and colleagues validated the utility of the metabolic signature as a biomarker for predicting benefit from chemotherapy (log-rank <I>P</I> = 0.004 for PFS), whereas the Asian Cancer Research Group classifier did not demonstrate any predictive value.</P><P><B>Conclusions:</B> This bench-to-bedside effort establishes a reasonable turnaround time for gene expression profiling and possible utility of genomic classifiers in gastric cancer treatment stratification. <I>Clin Cancer Res; 24(21); 5272–81. ©2018 AACR</I>.</P>
