Processor-Minimum Scheduling of Real-Time Parallel Tasks

<P>We propose a polynomial-time algorithm for the scheduling of real-time parallel tasks on multicore processors. The proposed algorithm always finds a feasible schedule using the minimum number of processing cores, where tasks have properties of linear speedup, flexible preemption, arbitrary deadlines and arrivals, and parallelism bound. The time complexity of the proposed algorithm is <I>O</I>(M<SUP>3</SUP>· log <I>N</I>) for <I>M</I> tasks and <I>N</I> processors in the worst case.</P>
Bending of Elliptical Cross Sectional Beams with Material Nonlinearity of Ludwick Type

A closed form of moment-curvature relationship for elliptical cross sectional beams made of Ludwick type material was derived. Therefore, it is possible to obtain both a closed form solution for small deflection and a numerical solution for large deflection of beams subjected to a variety of end conditions and load configurations. To illustrate the use of present relation, large deflection of cantilever beam of elliptical cross section under combined load was obtained by using numerical integration procedure.

본 연구는 우리나라 최초의 유치원인 이화여자대학교 사범대학 부속 이화유치원의 교육과정을 구성하고 있는 이론적 근거를 역사적ㆍ철학적으로 고찰하는 것을 그 목적으로 하였다. 본 연구는 문헌연구를 통하여 이화유치원 설립 당시부터 현재까지의 교육과정의 성립 및 변천과정과 철학적ㆍ심리적 사조를 살표보고 이들의 영향이 이화유치원 교육과정에 나타난 부분을 탐구하였다. 연구결과 1914년 한 미국인 선교사에 의해 설립된 이화여자대학교 사범대학 부속 이화유치원은 설립 이후 지금까지 우리나라 유치원 교육의 모델을 제시하며 선도적 역할을 담당해오고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 교육과정의 측면에서는 유아들의 전인발달 특히 사회ㆍ정서적인 발달을 중요시하고 우리의 전통사상과 기독교정신, 진보주의 이론 및 구성주의가 그 철학적ㆍ심리적 기초를 이루고 있음을 알 수 있었다. The purpose of this study was to investigate historical, philosophical, and psychological foundations of the curriculum for Ewha Lab Kindergarten. This study was conducted through mainly literature review and interview. The results of this study are as follows. First, the Ewha Lab Kindergarten, which was founded in 1914, is the very first kindergarten for Korean children. It has played the leader's role of the field of early childhood education in Korea since then. Second, the curriculum of Ewha Lab Kindergarten was differentiated from other kindergartens' from its beginning in the sense that it was based on the firm belief of child-oriented philosophy. Third, essence of the curriculum for Ewha Lab Kindergarten has remained the same despite of its several changes. It has put emphasis on the development of the whole child, especially social-emotional development, and child-oriented curriculum which is based on the child's interests and experiences. Fourth, the curriculum for Ewha Lab Kindergarten was influened by several philosophies and psychological theories. Among those, Korean traditional thoughts, Christianity, Progressivism, and Constructivism are the most salient. Because Ewha Lab Kindergarten was founded by American missionary, Christianity was the basis for the curriculum. Examples can be that hymns, prayer, and bible stories are included in the curriculum and Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas are also celebrated. Perspectives on the purpose of education, development of young children, and the teacher's role were influenced by Korean traditional thoughts. The contents, teaching strategies, the teacher's role, and educational environments were heavily influenced by both Progressivism and Constructivism.
Antimicrobials, Gut Microbiota and Immunity in Chickens

The use of antimicrobials will be soon removed due to an increase of occurrence of antibiotic-resistant bacteria or ionophore-resistant Eimeria species in poultry farms and consumers’ preference on drug-free chicken meats or eggs. Although dietary antimicrobials contributed to the growth and health of the chickens, we do not fully understand their interrelationship among antimicrobials, gut microbiota, and host immunity in poultry. In this review, we explored the current understanding on the effects of antimicrobials on gut microbiota and immune systems of chickens. Based on the published literatures, it is clear that antibiotics and antibiotic ionophores, when used singly or in combination could influence gut microbiota. However, antimicrobial effect on gut microbiota varied depending on the samples (e.g., gut locations, digesta vs. mucosa) used and among the experiments. It was noted that the digesta vs. the mucosa is the preferred sample with the results of no change, increase, or decrease in gut microbiota community. In future, the mucosa-associated bacteria should be targeted as they are known to closely interact with the host immune system and pathogen control. Although limited, dietary antimicrobials are known to modulate humoral and cell-mediated immunities. Ironically, the evidence is increasing that dietary antimicrobials may play an important role in triggering enteric disease such as gangrenous dermatitis, a devastating disease in poultry industry. Future work should be done to unravel our understanding on the complex interaction of host-pathogen-microbiotaantimicrobials in poultry.

행렬 곱셈 프로그램에 메모리 접근 최적화 기법을 적용하여, 프로그램의 데이터 지역성 향상에 따른 성능 개선을 측정 분석하였다. 메모리 접근 최적화를 위해서는 루프 인터체인터(Loop Interchange), 스트립 마이닝(Strip Mining), 루프 타일링(Loop Tiling)을 사용하였다. 데이터 지역성 측정의 척도로서 값 참조 거리, 메모리 참조 거리, 블럭 참조 거리를 정의하였다. 변수 참조 거리는 한 변수의 참조 이후부터 같은 변수의 다음 참조까지 발생하는 변수의 참조 수이다. 일반적으로 변수들의 참조 거리가 낮은 값 쪽에 밀집하여 분포될 때, 성능 향상이 높았다. 행렬 곱셈의 경우 공간 지역성을 나타내는 블럭 참조 거리의 감소가 성능 향상에 효과적이었다. 분석 결과에 기초하여 캐시 메모리의 효과적 사용을 위한 최적화 방향을 제시한다. 참조거리를 반영하는 컴파일 시간 분석 가능 척도를 개발할 경우 메모리 위계에 따른 최적화의 기준으로 사용될 수 있을 것으로 예상된다.

In this paper, the protective coordination studied in application of HTS cable in conductive system. The protective coordination analyzed to HTS cable using the PSCAD/EMTDC. HTS cable simulated to be appling SFCL or not to be. The result was showed to be protective coordination graph in HTS cable and OCR curve at the power system fault. This graph was proposed to be power operation standard at the HTS cable fault.
