Objective: The purpose of this study is to describe the effect of the serratus anterior muscle exercise in a patient with winging of the scapular. Background and Purpose: The patient was a 33-year-old man with an 3 years history of the left deltoid region. He had not responded to previous treatments of rest, TENS and medicine. Materials and Methods: After Surgical operation of the shoulder, the patient was treated for 6 months in 144 visits. treatment consisted of push-up with plus in the standing position with his hands against the wall and unique push-up with quadruped position at mat. Also, Sling exercise therapy was utilized to control scapular stabilization and reduce stress on the scapulohumeral joint. Result: Following 104 physical therapy visits, the patient was able to full range of motion of the shoulder without shrug motion Conclusion and Discussion : Scapular winging and serratus anterior muscle function are important consider in the rehabilitation of the shoulder dysfunction. Therefore, specific exercise program for people with the winging scapular should be considered.
Design of Flexible Wearable Energy Harvesting System Using PVDF Vibration Sensor
( Jun-hyeok Jang ),( Jooyong Kim ) 한국감성과학회 2023 한국감성과학회 국제학술대회(ICES) Vol.2023 No.-
Energy harvesting is a subject of extensive research across various fields, driven by environmental and energy-efficient considerations. In particular, wearable energy harvesting has gained increasing significance due to the lightweight and flexible nature of wearable devices. In this study, we propose a novel wearable energy harvesting system that harnesses vibrations and Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF). The designed harvesting system consists of a PVDF vibration sensor, a silver-coated conductive thread for power transmission, a rectification chip with four embedded diodes for AC to DC conversion, and a wristband. The process involves periodically vibrating the PVDF using an Arduino servo motor to identify the reference resistance at the maximum power output. Finally, we calculate the overall energy efficiency by comparing the electrical energy harvested relative to the kinetic energy of the servo motor's motion. The result demonstrates a high energy harvesting efficiency of 4.75%. These findings hold promise for more efficient power utilization in various wearable devices and contribute to reducing environmental pollution, showcasing the positive aspects of this research.

Six ansamycin derivatives were isolated from the culture broth of Streptomyces sp. KCB17JA11, including four new hygrolansamycins A-D (1-4) and known congeners divergolide O (5) and hygrocin C (6). Compounds 1-5 featured an unusual six-membered O-heterocyclic moiety. The isolation workflow was guided by a Molecular Networking-based dereplication strategy. The structures of 1-4 were elucidated using NMR and HRESIMS experiments, and the absolute configuration was established by the Mosher’s method. Compound 2 exhibited mild cytotoxicity against five cancer cell lines with IC50 values ranging from 24.60 ± 3.37 μM to 49.93 ± 4.52 μM.

Objectives:Internet/smartphone addiction among adolescents is an increasingly problematic social issue, but with no current systematic treatment guidelines. In this study, we have evaluated the effect of a group therapy, using art program, on adolescents’ addiction to internet/smartphone. Methods:Screening tests(Young’s Internet Addiction test, YIAT ; Korean Smartphone Addiction Proneness Scale, SAPS) were performed on students from elementary and middle schools in Daegu, the Republic of Korea. Six sessions of group art therapy were conducted among 60 students, 20 showing internet/smartphone addiction(addiction group), and 40 with no addiction to the internet/smartphone(control group). Questionnaires including the sociodemographic information, Children’s Social Support Scale(SSS) scores, and Parent-Adolescent Communication Scale(PACS) scores were completed before the intervention. Clinical scales evaluating internet/smartphone addiction(YIAT, SAPS) among the participants and their psychological dispositions were also assessed before and after the intervention. Results:There were no significant differences in the sociodemographic factors between the addiction and control groups. The averages of the SSS and PACS scores were significantly higher in the control group when compared to those in the addiction group. The addiction group revealed a statistically significant decrease in the SAPS scores and a trend towards decreased YIAT scores. Both groups showed statistically significant decreases in the state anxiety and depression scores. Conclusion:Adolescents with Internet/smartphone addiction showed improvements in addictive behavior, state anxiety, and depression after group art therapy; hence, group art therapy may be considered an alternative treat-ment method for internet/smartphone addiction among adolescents.

Purpose The usage of a smartphone in the life have been increased because of the convenience of a smartphone. In addition, the usage of a smartphone is increased in the restroom. The use of smartphone in the toilets have affected on large intestine such as constipation and hemorrhoids. However, little is known about musculoskeletal system. Therefore, the Purpose of this study was to examine the effect of using smarphone in the restroom on muscle activity of cervical erector spineae, upper trapezius, and lumbar erector spinae in the able-bodied people. Methods 28 healthy subjects were recruited for this study. Electromyographic signals of both cervical erector spinae, upper trapezius and lumbar erector spinae were acquired during sitting on the general chair and toilet with using a smartphone. Paired t-test was used for determination of differences in the muscle activation between general chair and toilet. The significant level of the p value was set at 0.05. Results In cervical erector spinae and upper trapezius, no significant difference was observed between the general chair and toilet (p>.05). In contrast, regarding lumbar erector spinae, using a smartphone on the toilet showed significant difference compared to on the general chair (p<.05). Conclusion We found that the sitting on the toilet during using a smartphone showed higher muscle activation of lumbar erector spinae than the sitting on the general chair. Therefore, using a smartphone on the toilet could affect the musculoskeletal of the lower back.
