CuInS2/ZnS quantum dot-embedded polymer nanofibers for color conversion films

<P>Color-conversion films (CCFs) were fabricated with CuInS2/ZnS quantum dot (QD)-embedded polymer nanofibers and applied for white color emission with blue light-emitting diodes (LEDs). Red-orange color emitting CuInS2/ZnS QDs were synthesized and a photoluminescence quantum yield (PL QY) of 75% was achieved by controlling the Cu : In ratio in the QDs as well as the ZnS shell thickness. QD-embedded polystyrene nanofibers were electrospun on conducting aluminium substrates. The QD-embedded nanofiber (QDEN) structure is believed to reduce the aggregation of the QDs compared to that in a thin-film polymer. Time-resolved photoluminescence (TRPL) analysis showed a longer PL lifetime (138 ns) with the QDEN film than with a mould-cast thin film (45 ns). The longer PL lifetime with the QDEN structure is attributed to decreased quenching due to reduced aggregation. For the white lighting device, the QDEN films were applied as CCFs on a light guide plate (4.3 inch) with a GaN blue LED source. The resulting device demonstrated increased efficiency (from 11.5 to 32.3 mu m W-1) and color rendering index values (from 71 to 91) compared to commercial white LEDs. These Cd-free QD-embedded nanofiber films are expected to provide efficient and safe solutions for large-area processing of lighting devices.</P>

Aims: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of direct antiviral agents (DAAs) available in chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients with chronic hepatitis C (HCV) in Korea. Methods: In a retrospective, multicenter study involving 8 medical institutions, 362 patients were enrolled from 2015 to 2019. The efficacy and safety of DAAs including glecaprevir/pibrentasvir, sofosubvir/ribavirin, ledipasvir/sofosbuvir, and daclatasvir/ asunaprevir were analyzed for patients according to CKD stage. We evaluated sustained virologic response at week 12 after treatment (SVR12) as primary endpoint. The efficacy and adverse events were also evaluated according to CKD stage. Results: Among 362 patients, 308 patients completed DAA treatment and follow-up period after end of treatment. The subjects comprised 87 patients (62 with CKD stage 3 and 25 with CKD stage 4-5), of whom 22 were undergoing hemodialysis. HCV patients with CKD stage 1 and 2 (eGFR>60) showed SVR12 of 98.1% and 95.5% respectively. SVR12 of CKD stage 3 and 4-5 (eGFR<60) patients was 91.9% and 88% respectively. All patients undergoing hemodialysis achieved SVR12 (90.9%). Treatment failure and cessation of DAAs was 2.7% (3/110) and 0% in stage 1, 2.6% (3/113) and 1.7% (2/113) in stage 2; 1.6% (1/62) and 6.4% (4/62) in stage 3 ; 4% (1/25) and 8% (2/25) in stage 4-5. Conclusions: DAAs shows favorable SVR12 and safety with CKD patients (eGFR< 60) with HCV compared with patients with eGFR >60. The efficacy and safety of DAAs may be related with duration of treatment and concomitant medications. Therefore, it is important to select adequate regimens of DAAs and to treat CKD patients with HCV properly.

This paper describes an study electric injection system for diesel engines. It is needed effective fuel injection which controls the solenoid valve of fuel pump. To solve this, this paper proposes DCC-PWM method which can realize fast reply and low holding current for solenoid valve on/off. For the proposed design method, simulation tools of ACSL are used to analyze the system. And the single-chip microcomputer is used to reduce the size of controller and to improve flexibility. And the system's validity can be verified through the experimental results.
