Al-Doping Effect on the Photoluminescence Behaviors of CaTiO3:Pr3+ Powder Phosphors
Yang HyunKyoung,Jeong Jung Hyun,Kim Jung Hwan,Kim Pyoung,Moon Byung kee,Yi Soung Soo 한국물리학회 2006 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.49 No.1
The correlation between the crystallization, the surface morphology, and the luminescent properties of Al-doped CaTiO3:Pr3+ powder phosphors has been investigated. Al doping in the host lattice improves the crystallization and enhances the luminescent properties. The grains of Al-doped CaTiO3:Pr3+ powder were larger and well-defined with orthorhombic shapes compared with those of a CaTiO3:Pr3+ powder. According to the cathodoluminescence(CL) and photoluminescence(PL) results, the red emission peaks from the 1D2!3H4 transition were increased by more than about 1.5 and 1.8 times with Al-doping. The red emission peaks at 610, 612, 614, 626, and 637 nm are assigned to 4f-5d transitions from the 1D2 states to the ground state. As the temperature was increased from 12 to 300 K, the shape of PL spectra remained the same, and the PL intensity uniformly increased for both the CaTiO3:Pr3+ and the Al-doped CaTiO3:Pr3+ powders. The PL intensity was increased by more than 3 times with Al-doping. For the CL spectra, Al-doped CaTiO3:Pr3+ was stable, and no change in crystal field was seen under a low acceleration voltage.P

Salmonella enterica serotype Choleraesuis causes swine paratyphoid, with clinical findings of enterocolitis and septicemia. However, the clinicopathological features of S. Choleraesuis infections in pigs have not been reported in Korea. We describe the pathological findings of two weaned pigs with S. Choleraesuis infections, presenting with diarrhea, cough, and sudden death. Pathological examination indicated severe necrotic colitis in pig 1 and septicemic lesions in pig 2. Multidrug-resistant S. Choleraesuis was isolated from the pigs' lungs and intestinal contents. Further research is required for the surveillance of S. Choleraesuis infections in pigs and the virulence estimation in the S. Choleraesuis isolates.
Cat diseases diagnosed in Korea, 2015~2017
Jung, Ji-Youl,Lee, Kyunghyun,Choi, Eun-Jin,Lee, Hyunkyoung,Moon, Bo Youn,Kim, Ha-Young,So, ByungJae The Korean Society of Veterinary Service 2018 韓國家畜衛生學會誌 Vol.41 No.2
There has recently been a growing demand for pathodiagnosis to determine the cause of death in cats. We retrospectively analyzed the diseases diagnosed in cats that were submitted to Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency (APQA) in 2015~2017. Overall diagnostic rate in feline samples was 85.2% (n=104/122). Among diagnosed cases, infectious diseases (n=63) were responsible for most of the feline diseases and feline panleukopenia (n=29) were most prevalent. Highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) H5N6 was first diagnosed in cats at the end of December 2016 in the HPAI outbreaks. One case in 2015, 4 cases in 2016, and 14 cases in 2017 were associated with animal abuse, such as trauma and poisoning. These results suggest that suitable vaccination of feline infectious diseases, monitoring of the susceptible domestic animals during HPAI outbreaks, and interest on veterinary forensics to prevent and determine animal abuse are needed.
