The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of Class-Wide Positive Behavior Support(CWPBS) on behaviors of children in an integrated class. The CWPBS was planned and implemented as the first preventive measure without particular judgment or reference at an integrated class of a kindergarten which has children with and without developmental delay for the purpose of the research. A careful observation was made on the influence of the CWPBS on problem behaviors and the sense of social efficacy of children in an integrated class, and also on the effects of the CWPBS on problem behaviors and engagement behaviors of the child with developmental delay. The children participated for study were thirty-three children and one child with developmental delay at an integrated class of S kindergarten in Daegu. The one-group pretest-posttest design was used to investigate the influence of the CWPBS on problem behaviors and sense of social efficacy of children in an integrated class. The multiple baseline across conditions design was used to investigate the influence of the CWPBS on problem behaviors and engagement behaviors the child with developmental delay. As for methodology of collection and analysis of data, the event recording method was used to collect the data of problem behaviors to investigate the influence of the CWPBS on problem behaviors of the children in an integrated class, and frequency of problem behaviors before and after the CWPBS were analyzed and compared. To investigate the change of social efficacy of the children in response to the CWPBS, the test scores of children's sense of social efficacy before and after the CWPBS were analyzed and compared. A method for the test of children's sense of social efficacy was 'The test of children's sense of social efficacy' developed by McGinnis and Goldstein(1990) and revised and adapted by Lee, Won'yung, Park, Chan'ok and Noh, Yung'hee (1993) and modified to be suitable to this research. As for marking of the test, 1 point was given only when verbal response of the children was prosocial, but no point was given when the response was antisocial, aggressive, irrelevant and no-response. Mean(M), standard deviation(SD) and a paired sample t-test of the result of the test were taken by SPSS 12.0 program. The data of problem behaviors and engagement behaviors of the child with developmental delay were collected by the partial interval recording method(every 10 seconds during baseline, intervention, maintenance) and analysed in terms of change of frequency of problem behaviors, the change of frequency of sub-types of problematic behaviors and the change of frequency of engagement behaviors. The results of this study were as follows: First, the CWPBS reduced the problem behaviors of the children in problematic conditions at the integrated class. Second, there was a significant difference between the scores of test of children's sense of social efficacy before and after the CWPBS was implemented, and a significant difference was also shown in capability of establishing relationships and adaptability to the kindergarten which were sub-elements of sense of social efficacy. Third, the CWPBS reduced the problem behaviors of the child with developmental delay in three conditions(conversation class, art class, Montessori class with learning aids) and the problem behaviors remained reduced. And sub-types of problematic behaviors of the child with developmental delay was also reduced by the CWPBS and the effect of the support continued. Fourth, the CWPBS increased the engagement behaviors of the child with developmental delay in three conditions and the effect of the support continued. In conclusion, the CWPBS has a positive influence on reducing problem behaviors and increasing the sense of social efficacy of children of the integrated class, and also has a positive influence on the change of problem behaviors and engagement behaviors of the child with developmental delay. And so it can be concluded that the CWPBS is a intervention that has positive influence on the behaviors of both child with and without developmental delay.
