알코올중독의 재발요인과 재발빈도의 관계 성별의 조절효과를 중심으로 = A Study on the Relationship between the Factors and Frequency of Alcoholism Relapse Focusing on the Moderating Effect of Gender

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 알코올중독의 재발에 영향을 미치는 재발요인을 성별에 따라 분석하고, 알코올중독의 재발요인이 성별에 따라 재발에 어떻게 영향을 주는가에 대해 검증하였다. 남성 알코올중독자 108명과 여성 알코올중독자 108명이 참여한 본 연구에서 몇 가지 특징적인 측면이 발견되었다. 첫째, 성별에 따른 재발빈도의 차이는 남성이 여성에 비해 높게 나타났다. 재발요인에 있어서는 남성이 여성보다 상대적으로 부정적인 정서와 가족력의 수준이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 반면 여성은 임파워먼트 수준과 사회적 지지의 수준이 남성보다 높은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 재발요인이 재발빈도에 미치는 영향에 관한 회귀분석에서 남성의 경우에는 병식이 재발빈도에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타난 반면, 여성의 경우에는 재발빈도에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 재발요인은 나타나지 않았다. 셋째, 성별에 따라 병식이 재발빈도에 미치는 영향력은 상이하였다. 남성 알코올중독자는 병식이 높을수록 재발빈도가 급격하게 상승하는 반면 여성 알코올중독자는 재발빈도가 남성에 비해 일정하게 유지되는 것을 보여주었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This purpose of this study is to analyze various factors affecting alcoholism relapse according to genders, and to examine how and why gender plays a role in an individual`s relapse. Among 108 male and 108 female alcoholics, several trends emerged within the context of this study. First, the rate of alcoholism relapse among men was higher than women. For factors of relapse, men scored higher than women in both negative emotions and a family history. On the other hand, women scored higher than men in individual levels of empowerment and levers of social support. Second, according to a regression analysis on the effects of relapse factors on the relapse rate, insight affects the rate of relapse significantly among men; however there is no notable factors of relapse that affects the rate of relapse among women. Third, the effect of insight on the relapse rate for individuals with alcoholism is very different. Higher levels of insight yield higher rates of relapse fer men while relapse rates for women - having similar insight - tend to remain relatively steady.
