        Effects of Gal-13 on the Content of Immunoglobulin, Proliferation of Lymphocyte and Antibody Titers after Vaccination with Infectious Bursal Disease Virus Vaccine in Chickens

        Gal-13 is an antimicrobial peptide isolated from chicken intestine. Ninety chickens were randomly divided into two groups (45 chickens for each group) to determine the effect of oral administration of Gal-13 on the acquired immune response. The chickens in the first group were fed a diet without Gal-13 as the control, and the chickens in the second group were fed the same diet, except that Gal-13 ($1{\mu}g/ml$) was suspended in drinking water just after hatching. Samples of blood, thymus, bursa of fabricius and spleen were taken at day 1, 4, 7, 10 and 17. The chickens in both groups received infectious bursal disease virus vaccine at day 20, and then sera samples were collected for analysis at 14, 21, 28 and 35 days after vaccination. The results showed: (1) Gal-13 could enhance the content of immunoglobulin (Ig)G at the age of 4 to10 days (p<0.05) and IgM at the age of 4 and 10 days (p<0.05) in the serum; (2) In vitro experiments showed that Gal-13 (0.625-1.250${\mu}g/ml$) enhanced the proliferation of peripheral blood lymphocytes of the chickens stimulated by lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and concanavlin A (ConA). Compared to the control, Gal-13 (1 ${\mu}g/ml$) enhanced the proliferation of bursa lymphocytes at 17 days of age (p<0.01) and thymus lymphocytes at 7 days of age (p<0.01), but restrained lymphocyte proliferation in chicken spleen and differed significantly at day 10 (p<0.01); (3) Gal-13 enhanced infectious bursal disease virus antibody in sera of chickens 21 days after infectious bursal disease virus vaccine administration (p<0.05). These results suggested that Gal-13 could modulate adaptive immune responses of chickens.

        Nitrogen-Doped Hollow Carbon Nanospheres Derived from Dopamine as High-Performance Anode Materials for Sodium-Ion Batteries

        Designed as an anode material for sodium ion batteries, porous nitrogen-doped hollow carbon nanospheres (N-HCS, D = 200 nm) are successfully synthesized via the mature template-assisted method using silica and dopamine as template and carbon precursor, respectively. For detailed characterization of Raman, FTIR and XPS results, it is revealed that N-doping can form a disordered carbon structure and induce a large number of topological defects on carbon outer wall. The N-HCS electrode exhibits excellent cycling stability and rate capability, delivering a satisfying capacity of 306 mAh g-1 over 600 cycles at a discharging rate of 0.05 A g-1 and an attainable capacity of 188 mAh g-1 even at a high discharging rate of 3.0 A g-1. The excellent electrochemical performance of N-HCS can be attributed to the high content of pores. Moreover, the high content of pyridinic and graphitic N could facilitate the transfer of sodium ion and electron.

        Visible-Light Self-Driven Photodetector with Enhanced Performance Based on CdS /Si Nanowire Heterojunction

        In this article, the appealing application of the CdS/Si nanowire heterostructure asthe self-driven photodetector was presented based on a facile successive ioniclayer absorption and reaction. Compared to CdS /Si planar based device,photocurrent illuminated with light (532 nm) to dark-current ratio was enhancedsignificantly for CdS/Si nanowire based detector. Measurements of time resolvedresponses at zero bias were conducted, and the result also demonstrated that CdS/Si nanowire heterostructure had a high photosensitivity and fast photo-responseas the self-driven visible light photodetector. Additionally, the correspondingmechanism for the phenomenon was discussed, and it is believed that such a highphotoresponse comes from the improved optical absorption as well as the goodcarrier transfer and collection capability. The present CdS/Si core-shellheterojunction architectures are envisaged as potentially valuable candidates fornext-generation photodectors.

        A Dynamic Warning Method for Electric Vehicle Charging Safety Based on CNN-BiGRU Hybrid Model

        Electric vehicles (EVs) are prone to spontaneous combustion during charging, which can lead to safetyaccidents. Therefore, it is critical to accurately obtain the charging crises of EVs for timely fault identification andearly warning. This paper proposes a hybrid convolutional neural networks (CNN) and bi-directional gated recurrentunit (BiGRU) dynamic early warning method for EV charging safety. The method combines CNN and BiGRUfeatures to rapidly extract deep characteristics of EV charging data, establish charging safety prediction models,and train it with historical normal charging data. After training, real-time EV charging data is input for predictionto identify whether EV charging processes are irregular. Sliding windows are used with the residual analysis of thehistorical data forecast outcomes to generate the safety dynamic warning threshoThe energy rules. The experimentalresults demonstrated that the CNN-BiGRU model has a superior prediction effect and accuracy. With eRMSE andeMAPE as the evaluation criteria, the charging current is 0.2393 A and 0.1888%, the charging voltage is 0.3859 Vand 0.084%, and the temperature is 0.0543◦C and 0.1658%; The charging current, voltage and temperature data canbe used for early fault warning, which can be advance by 20.7 s, 20.2 s and 17.7 5 s, respectively.

        Novel Method to Improve the Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of 45 Steel

        Aiming at the problems of poor hardenability and low mechanical strength of 45 steel after quenching and tempering atnormal pressure, 45 steel was quenched and tempered under high pressure. The microstructure of 45 steel after high pressurequenching and tempering was analyzed by optical microscope, scanning electron microscope and transmission electronmicroscope, its hardness and compressive strength were tested by hardness tester and electronic universal testing machine,and compared with samples treated by the same process under atmospheric pressure. The results show that uniform andcompact tempered sorbite can be obtained after high pressure quenching and tempering of 45 steel, and the precipitatedgranular carbides are finely dispersed, thus improving the mechanical properties of 45 steel. Under a pressure of 3 GPa,quenching at 900 °C for 15 min and 550 °C for 60 min tempering, the hardness and compressive yield strength of 45 steelwere 36.3 HRC and 971 MPa, respectively, which were respectively 25.17% and 20.77% higher than the corresponding valuesobtained with the same process under atmospheric pressure quenching and tempering. This work provides a new method toeffectively improve the mechanical properties of 45 steel.

        A Survey on Modeling Mechanism and Control Strategy of Rehabilitation Robots: Recent Trends, Current Challenges, and Future Developments

        Due to an increasingly serious aging society and a large number of disabled civilians, the number of residents who need rehabilitation therapy is increasing rapidly in the past few years, but the rehabilitation therapists/treatments are in short supply in reality. In recent years, with the in-depth research and technology development of rehabilitation robots, this contradiction is expected to be overcome. In this paper, the modeling mechanisms of rehabilitation robots are firstly introduced based on the pneumatic artificial muscle drive, motor drive, and cable drive, respectively. Then some typical methodologies are presented to deal with various types of control constraints, namely the nonlinearity, the parameter uncertainty, the fatigue, and the time-delay, etc. Moreover, the advantages and disadvantages of some existing control approaches and driving modes are discussed in depth, including some notable experimental results. The key challenges and shortcomings of rehabilitation robots are analyzed and summarized, and the future development of rehabilitation robots has been prospected finally.

        Laser-Induced Morphology Change Based on Small Molecular Model Compounds Photo-Detector

        Three small molecules furnished with a planar core, (5,6-bis(octyloxy) benzo[c][1,2,5] thiadiazole-4,7-diyl)bis(thiophene-5,2-diyl), and two wings, thieno [3,2-b]indole or carbazoles, were synthesized and used as sensing layer to make photo-detectors. The devices can detect photons at a wavelength band of 300-700 nm and exhibit a sensitive photo-response under on/off modulation. Near UV (405 nm) and visible (532 nm) laser beam were the light source in this work. The corrected responsivity reached up to 498 mA W-1 at 532 nm and 411 mA W-1 at 405 nm. Laser induced photo-current escalation was observed and investigated. For longer molecules, the photo-current was easy to be constant than the shorter reference counterpart. This special photo response mechanism was studied by alternating current impedance spectroscopy (IS) measurements and X-ray diffraction (XRD) exprements. Possible relations between molecular weight and various figures of merit for photo detectors were discussed.

        Four active monomers from Moutan Cortex exert inhibitory effects against oxidative stress by activating Nrf2/Keap1 signaling pathway

        Paeonol, quercetin, β-sitosterol, and gallic acid extracted from Moutan Cortex had been reported to possess anti-oxidative, anti-inflammatory, and antitumor activities. This work aimed to illustrate the potential anti-oxidative mechanism of monomers in human liver hepatocellular carcinoma (HepG2) cells-induced by hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂) and to evaluate whether the hepatoprotective effect of monomers was independence or synergy in mice stimulated by carbon tetrachloride (CCl₄). Monomers protected against oxidative stress in HepG2 cells in a doseresponse manner by inhibiting the generation of reactive oxygen species, increasing total antioxidant capacity, catalase and superoxide dismutase (SOD) activities, and activating the antioxidative pathway of nuclear factor E2-related factor 2/Kelchlike ECH-associated protein 1 (Nrf2/Keap1) signaling pathway. We found that the in vitro antioxidant capacities of paeonol and quercetin were better than those of -sitosterol and gallic acid. Furthermore, paeonol apparently diminished the levels of alanine transaminase and aspartate aminotransferase, augmented the contents of glutathione and SOD, promoted the expressions of Nrf2 and heme oxygenase-1 proteins in mice stimulated by CCl₄. In HepG2 cells, paeonol, quercetin, β-sitosterol, and gallic acid play a defensive role against H₂O₂-induced oxidative stress through activating Nrf2/Keap1 pathway, indicating that these monomers have anti-oxidative properties. Totally, paeonol and quercetin exerted anti-oxidative and hepatoprotective effects, which is independent rather than synergy.
