Study on SO4 2-/ZrO2-MoO3 in the integrative transformation of cottonseed oil deodorizing distillate

Cuihua Li,Yuexia Zhao,Bin Dai 한국공업화학회 2012 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.18 No.1

With the integrative transformation of non a-tocopherols, glycerides, free fatty acids, and methyl alcohol in cottonseed oil deodorizing distillate as the target reaction, we prepared highly catalytic SO42/ZrO2-MoO3 solid acid catalyst by precipitation–wet impregnation. The optimal conditions for catalyst preparation were then determined by varying sulfuric acid concentration, MoO3 loading factor, calcination temperature, and calcination time. The structure of SO42-/ZrO2-MoO3 solid acid catalyst was then examined by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Brunauer–Emmett–Teller measurements, scanning electron microscopy, and other methods. Results show that the MoO3 loading factor (percentage weight ratio of MoO3 to ZrO2), impregnation concentration of sulfuric acid, and calcination temperature were the most important factors that influenced catalytic activity. The optimal conditions for catalyst preparation were an MoO3 loading factor of 20%, a sulfuric acid impregnation concentration of 0.75 mol/L, a calcination temperature of 550 8C, and a calcination time of 6 h. The obtained catalyst exhibited the highest catalytic activity under these conditions.

Failure behaviors of C/C composite tube under lateral compression loading

        Yantao Gao,Yuexia Guan,Ke Li,Min Liu,Can Zhang,Jinliang Song 한국원자력학회 2019 Nuclear Engineering and Technology Vol.51 No.7

Mechanical responses and failure behaviors of advanced C/C composite tube are very important for structural component design in nuclear reactor. In this study, an experimental investigation was conducted to study mechanical properties of C/C composite tube. Quasi-static compression loading was applied to a type of advanced composite tube to determine the response of the quasi-static load displacement curve during progressive damage. Acoustic emissions (AE) signals were captured and analyzed to characterize the crack formation and crack development. In addition, the crack propagation of the specimens was monitored by imaging technique and failure mode of the specimen was analyzed. FEM is appled to simulate the stress distribution. Results show that advanced C/C composite tube exhibits considerable energy absorption capability and stability in load-carrying capacity.

Genome-wide identification of the HKT genes in five Rosaceae species and expression analysis of HKT genes in response to salt-stress in Fragaria vesca

        Shichuang Zhang,Yuexia Tong,Yingjun Li,Zong‑Ming Cheng,Yan Zhong 한국유전학회 2019 Genes & Genomics Vol.41 No.3

Introduction The high-affinity potassium transporter (HKT) gene family is implicated in the regulation of response to salt stress in different plants. Yet, knowledge remains very limited for them in the Rosaceae species. The whole genome sequences of the five Rosaceae species, including Fragaria vesca (woodland strawberry), Malus domestica (apple), Pyrus communis (pear), Prunus mume (mei) and Prunus persica (peach), give the opportunity to uncover the evolutionary pattern of the HKT genes among Rosaceae genomes. Objectives The primary objective of this study was to identify the HKT genes in five Rosaceae species and understand the potential biological functions of the HKT genes in response to salt stress in Fragaria vesca. Methods In this study, the HKT genes in five Rosaceae species were identified by bioinformatics. The phylogenetic tree was constructed and Ka and Ks values were calculated by MEGA 5.0. Genetic mapping of these genes were processed by MapInspect software. In addition, the physico-chemical properties, the cis-acting elements, the intron/exon structures, and the conserved domain motifs of these genes were analyzed and predicted by the websites of ProtParam, Pfam, PlantCARE, GSDS, MEME, and Motif Scan. Results In the present study, a total of 12 HKT genes were identified from five Rosaceae species. In the phylogenetic tree, orthologous genes were clustering together rather than paralogous genes and PcHKTs underwent two species-specific duplications before the divergence of pear and apple.. Furthermore, various expression levels of FvHKT genes revealed that woodland strawberry HKT genes are associated in responding to the salt stress. The activities of ROS-scavenging enzymes, superoxide dismutase (SOD), peroxidase (POD) and catalase (CAT) were also measured in different treatments of salt-stressed woodland strawberry leaves, which suggested that the three enzymes may also take part in response to salt stress. Conclusion The Ka/Ks ratio demonstrated that purifying selection played a major role in the evolutionary processes of HKT genes among the Rosaceae species, and FvHKT genes are involved in response to salt stress.

Continuity of Care in Chronic Diseases: A Concept Analysis by Literature Review

Jingjing Hu,Yuexia Wang,Xiaoxi Li 한국간호과학회 2020 Journal of Korean Academy of Nursing Vol. No.

Purpose: This study aimed to utilize concept analysis to obtain a better understanding of the concept of “continuity of care” in chronic diseases. Methods: The concept of continuity of care was analyzed using the Walker and Avant method. Covering literature in English from 1930 to 2018, the data sources included CINAHL Complete, Academic Search Complete, MEDLINE, PsyARTICLES, Health Source: Nursing/ Academic Edition, Google Scholar, Science Direct, and the Cochrane Library. Results: A comprehensive definition of concept of continuity of care was developed based on a systematic search and synthesis. The key defining attributes were identified as (a) care over time, (b) the relationship between an individual patient and a care team, (c) information transfer, (d) coordination, and (e) meeting changing needs. The antecedents of continuity of care were having a chronic disease, inexperienced with disease management, a poorly coordinated healthcare system, and medical care limitations. The consequences of continuity of care were decreasing hospital admissions, reducing costs, reducing emergency room visits, improving the quality of life, improving patient satisfaction, and delivering good healthcare. Conclusion: The thorough concept analysis provides insight into the nature of “continuity of care” in chronic diseases and also helps ground the concept in healthcare.

Conditioned Medium Enhances Osteogenic Differentiation of Induced Pluripotent Stem Cell-Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells

        Siying Zhong,Xufeng He,Yuexia Li,Xiangxin Lou 한국조직공학과 재생의학회 2019 조직공학과 재생의학 Vol.16 No.2

BACKGROUND: Recent studies have shown that induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) could be differentiated into mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) with notable advantages over iPSCs per se. In order to promote the application of iPSCMSCs for osteoregenerative medicine, the present study aimed to assess the ability of murine iPSC-MSCs to differentiate into osteoblast phenotype. METHODS: Osteogenic differentiation medium, blending mouse osteoblast-conditioned medium (CM) with basic medium (BM) at ratio 3:7, 5:5 and 7:3, were administered to iPSC-MSCs, respectively. After 14 days, differentiation was evaluated by lineage-specific morphology, histological stain, quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction and immunostaining. RESULTS: The osteogenesis-related genes, alp, runx2, col1 and ocn expressions suggest that culture medium consisting of CM:BM at the ratio of 3:7 enhanced the osteogenic differentiation more than other concentrations that were tested. In addition, the alkaline phosphatase activity and osteogenic marker Runx2 expression demonstrate that the combination of CM and BM significantly enhanced the osteogenic differentiation of iPSC-MSCs. CONCLUSION: In summary, this study has shown that osteoblast-derived CM can dramatically enhance osteogenic differentiation of iPSC-MSCs toward osteoblasts. Results from this work will contribute to optimize the osteogenic induction conditions of iPSC-MSCs and will assist in the potential application of iPSC-MSCs for bone tissue engineering.
