        The complete mitochondrial genome of a threatened loach (Sinibotia reevesae) and its phylogeny

        In present study, the complete mitochondrial genome of Sinibotia reevesae was first sequenced using the next-generation sequencing technology and annotated using bioinformatic tools. The circular mitochondrial genome was 16,572 bp in length, and contained 13 proteincoding genes, 2 ribosomal RNA genes, 22 transfer RNA genes, and 1 displacement loop locus. It presents a typical gene organization and order for completely sequenced cypriniformes mitogenomes. The control region could be divided into three parts included the extended termination associated sequence domain, the central conserved domain and the conserved sequence block. Interestingly, two stemloop domains were found in control region and OL region, respectively. Furthermore, phylogenetic analyses using concatenated amino acid and nucleotide sequences of the 13 protein-coding genes with two different methods (Maximum likelihood and Bayesian analysis) both highly supported the close relationship of S. reevesae and Sinibotia superciliaris, which was in line with the previous classifications based on morphological and molecular studies. These data provide useful information for a better understanding of the mitogenomic diversities and evolution in fish as well as novel genetic markers for studying population genetics and species identification.

        Synthesis and Characterization of G5 PAMAM Dendrimer Containing Daunorubicin for Targeting Cancer Cells

        A multifunctional dendritic nanodevice containing folate (FA) as the targeting molecule and daunorubicin (DNR) as the chemotherapeutic drug has been designed and synthesized. The primary amino groups on the surface of the generation 5 poly(amidoamine) dendrimer (G5 dendrimer) were acetylated partially. FA and DNR were conjugated to the remaining primary amino groups on the G5 dendrimer through amide and ester linkage, respectively, to generate the difunctional dendritic device. The synthetic approach of G5 PAMAM dendrimer containing daunorubicin and folic acid would be useful for targeting the overexpressed membrance-associated folate receptors of KB human carcinoma cell line and discreating them effectively.

        2,5-Hexanedione induces apoptosis via a mitochondriamediated pathway in PC12 cells

        2,5-Hexanedione (HD) is the main active metabolite of n-hexane and mediates the neurotoxicity of the parent compound. Studies suggested that apoptosis involved in HD neurotoxicity. However, the mechanism of HD-induced neuronal apoptosis remains unknown. To explore its underlying mechanism, we treated PC12 cells with 5, 10 and 20 mM HD for 24 h, respectively. We found that HD induced apoptotic death in PC12 cells in a dose-dependent manner. Moreover, HD down-regulated Bcl-2 expression, up-regulated Bax expression and Bax/Bcl-2 ratio, promoted the disruption of mitochondrial transmembrane potential, induced the release of cytochrome c from mitochondria, and increased the activity of caspase-3 in PC12 cells, which were all the key regulators of intrinsic apoptotic pathway. These results indicate that HD induces apoptosis via a mitochondria- mediated pathway in PC12 cells.

      • A temperature prediction model for library building based on LSTM

        The predictive model of heating ventilation air conditioning (HVAC) system operation temperature is essential for the predictive control to improve indoor thermal comfort and reduce building energy consumption. In this study, a library building operation temperature prediction model which based on deep learning is proposed. According to the data characteristics for this building, this paper adopts the long-short-time memory network (LSTM) algorithm to predict outdoor temperature and several HVAC system operation fluid temperatures. Evaluate result indicated that this model has high accuracy and short-term future prediction capacity even in the absence of multivariable variables. Compared with the existing methods based on artificial intelligence or machine learning, LSTM takes the temporal correlation within the dataset into account, and the performance a better prediction accuracy for temperature which is a temporal correlation variable. The results show that, for this library building, due to the lack of variable category, LSTM has a higher prediction accuracy and more suitable than traditional machine learning method such as Back-Propagation Neural Networks (BPNN). It also provides a favorable support for further research to realize model predictive control.

      • Analysis of indoor thermal comfort and developing an indoor environment prediction model for a Zero Energy Building in Korea

        Zero Energy Building (ZEB) is mainly based on the German passive house standards and becoming mandatory in Korea. Even though the concept of ZEB aims for two goals: low or zero energy building and thermal comfort of the occupants, the recently constructed ZEB in Korea tends to prioritize energy saving. Thermal discomfort and overheating issues have been reported in ZEB. In this paper, the overheating problem of ZEB is discussed, and the reason of the overheating is analyzed. According to the BEMS data for indoor temperature of the analyzed ZEB, it was found that the analyzed ZEB had an overheating of 36.2% during the examined period in cooling season. In order to extend the analysis for whole cooling season, a reliable prediction model based on deep learning is proposed in this study to obtain indoor temperature and CO₂ density during May 1<SUP>st</SUP> to October 31<SUP>st</SUP>. Because of the indoor environmental data of the analyzed building was insufficient to examine for the whole cooling season. The accuracy of the prediction model can reach 98.9%. Though parametric analysis of entire cooling season, the main reason of the overheating for the analyzed ZEB is the heat gain by increased occupancy and followed by solar radiation, outdoor temperature, outdoor humidity and wind speed. But in a condition of low occupancy level, solar radiation also has a high possibility to cause indoor overheating.

      • The Relationship between Social Equality and Social Policy in China

        Social policy covers the welfare of citizens and social equality. It has at least two functions. One contributes to the restoration of the function and order of social system, the other is the promotion of social development and progress. From a macroscopic angle, this paper focuses on the construction of social policy in China, analyzes the development track of social policy in China, explores the path of the construction of present social policy in China, and puts forward a social policy for development that has the characteristic of fairness and conforms to the national conditions of China. The paper consists of five sections. Section one introduces a series of social problems caused by the regressive social policy in China. Section two analyzes the definition and content of social policy and the relationship between social policy and fairness. Section three elaborates the social policy for development. Section four is a detailed analysis of the present social policy in China, that includes the progress of social policy in China, the deficiencies of present social policy in China, and suggestions for the formulation and implementation of social policy for development with fundamental fairness. In the last section, the conclusion is presented.

      • Methylenetetrahydrofolate Reductase Genetic Polymorphisms and Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma Susceptibility: A Meta-analysis of Case-control Studies

        Background: Genetic factors and environmental factors play a role in pathogenesis of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC). Previous studies regarding the association of folate intake and Methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase C677T polymorphism with ESCC was conflicting. We conducted a meta-analysis to investigate the association of MTHFR C677T and folate intake with esophageal cancer risk. Methods: MEDLINE, EMBASE and the Chinese Biomedical Database were searched in our study. The quality of studies were evaluated by predefined scale, and The association of polymorphisms of MTHFR C677T and folate intake and ESCC risk was estimated by Odds ratio (ORs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs). Results: 19 studies (4239 cases and 5575 controls) were included for meta-analysis. A significant association was seen between individuals with MTHFR 677 CT [OR(95%)=1.47(1.32-1.63)] and TT [OR(95%)=1.69(1.49-1.91)] genotypes and ESCC risk (p<0.05). Low intake of folate had significantly higher risk of esophageal cancer among individuals with CT/TT genotype [OR(95%)=1.65(1.1-2.49)], while high intake of folate did not find significant high risk of esophageal cancer among individuals with CT/TT genotype [OR(95%)=1.64 (0.82-3.26)]. Conclusions: Our meta-analysis indicated the folate intake and MTHFR 677CT/TT are associated with the risk of ESCC, and folate showed a significant interaction with polymorphism of MTHFR C677T.

        한국 다문화 교육정책 개선방안에 관하여 -중국 소수민족 교육정책을 중심으로-

        연구 목적: 현행 한국 다문화 교육정책의 개선방안에 관하여, 앞서 다문화 교육정책을 수립하고 시행해온 나라인 중국의 소수민족 교육정책을 심도 있게 고찰함으로써, 향후 한국 다문화 교육정책의 현 상황을 개선하는 데 참고할 수 있는 제언을 제시하는 데 목적이 있다. 연구 방법: 문헌 분석한 연구이다. 연구 내용: 이 연구를 위해 질적 방법을 사용하여 이론적 배경을 정리하고, 다음으로는 중국 소수민족 교육정책을 분석하고, 향후 한국 다문화 교육정책을 개선방안과 제언을 제시한다. 결론 및 제언: 중국의 소수민족 교육정책의 핵심 목표는 소수민족 교육 사업의 가속화, 민족 화합, 소수민족과 민족 지역의 교육 발전 수준을 전면적으로 높이기 위한 것을 목적으로 한다. 따라서 한국도 다문화 교육정책 입법을 통해 다문화인의 교육을 보장, 이중 언어교육에 대한 적극적인 도입과 지원 강화, 실제 상황에 맞추어 다문화 교육을 대대적으로 개선, 한국의 다문화 교육에 대한 지원금 투입을 지속해서 늘려야 한다. The purpose of the current multicultural education policy on Korea is to provide suggestions for improving the current situation of Korea’s multicultural education policy by examining in-depth China’s minority education policy, which has established and implemented the multicultural education policy. It is a literature analysis study. For this study, the theoretical background is summarized using the qualitative method, the Chinese minority education policy is analyzed, and measures and suggestions for improving the Korean multicultural education policy in the future are presented. The core objectives of China’s minority education policy are to accelerate minority education projects, national harmony, and raise the level of education development in ethnic and ethnic regions altogether. Therefore, Korea should continue to increase the amount of subsidies for multicultural education by guaranteeing education of multicultural people, actively introducing and supporting bilingual education, improving multicultural education according to the actual situation.

        한·중 유학생 지원 현황 비교

        본 연구는 한 중 양국 유학생 지원현황을 비교 분석한 글이다. 양국 유학생 지원 방안에 대한 공통점과 차이점을 파악하여 보다 효율적인 유학생 지원 방안을 도출하는 것이 이 글의 목적이다. 이를 위해 한국과 중국 유학생들이 재학하고 있는 대학교 내 지원정책 및 정부에서 지원하는 정책 현황을 비교 분석하였다. 연구 결과 양국 유학생 지원 공통점은 대학교의 지원 경우 학습활동과 생활지원에서 비슷한 지원 현황이 확인되었다. 정부 지원 경우는 양국의 많은 차이가 보였는데, 한국 정부는 초청만 받은 외국인 유학생을 대상으로 장학금 지원하고 있는 반면 중국 정부는 정부장학금, 중국 대학 자체 모집 장학금 등 다양한 장학금을 지원하고 있었다. 양국의 지원 정책을 비교 분석한 결과 한국 유학생 지원정책을 보완하기 위한 제언은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 한국은 유학생을 위한 건강보험 의무화를 도입해야 한다. 둘째, 대학교 내 장학금제도 개선이 필요하다. 이러한 연구 결과는 향후 양국의 유학생 연구 발전을 위한 기초적인 자료가 될 것이다. 특히 한국의 유학생 정책을 보다 더 효율적으로 재정비할 수 있는 중요한 기초자료로 활용될 것이다. This study compares and analyzes the current status of supporting Korean and Chinese students studying abroad. The purpose of this article is to identify the commonalities and differences between the two countries’ ways to support international students and to come up with more efficient ways to support international students. To this end, the current state of support policies and government-supported policies in universities where Korean and Chinese students are attending was compared and analyzed. As a result of the study, similar support status in learning activities and living support was confirmed in universities’ applications. In the case of government support, there were many differences between the two countries, while the Korean government provided scholarships for foreign students who were invited only, while the Chinese government provided various scholarships, including government scholarships and self-recruitment scholarships for Chinese universities. According to a comparative analysis of the two countries’ support policies, suggestions for supplementing the support policies for Korean students are as follows. First, Korea should introduce mandatory health insurance for international students. Second, the university scholarship system needs to be improved. These findings will be fundamental data for future research and development of students studying abroad in both countries. In particular, it will be used as an important basic material to better reorganize Korea’s policies on international students.
