      • Pin1 Promoter rs2233678 and rs2233679 Polymorphisms in Cancer: A Meta-analysis

        PIN1 is one member of the parvulin PPIase family. By controlling Pro-directed phosphorylation, PIN1 plays an important role in cell transformation and oncogenesis. There are many polymorphisms in the PIN1 gene, including rs2233678 and rs2233679 affecting the PIN1 promoter. Recently, a number of case-control studies were conducted to investigate the association between PIN1 gene rs2233678 and rs2233679 polymorphism and cancer risk. However, published data are still conflicting. In this paper, we summarized data for 5,427 cancer cases and 5,469 controls from 9 studies and attempted to assess the susceptibility of PIN1 gene polymorphism to cancers by a synthetic meta-analysis. Odds ratios (ORs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were estimated to assess the relationship. All analyses were performed using Stata software. Our results suggested that rs2233678 represented a protective factor in overall analysis (CC vs GG: OR= 0.697, 95%CI: 0.498-0.976; CG vs GG: OR=0.701, 95%CI: 0.572-0.858; Dominant model: OR= 0.707, 95%CI: 0.590-0.847; C allele vs G allele: OR=0.734, 95%CI: 0.623-0.867) and especially for squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck, lung cancer and breast cancer in Asians and Caucasians. The rs2233679 polymorphism was significantly associated with decreased cancer risk in overall analysis (CT vs CC: OR=0.893, 95%CI=0.812-0.981; Dominant model: OR=0.893, 95%CI=0.816-0.976; T allele vs C allele; OR=0.947, 95%CI=0.896-1.000) and especially in Asians. In conclusion, our meta-analysis suggested that -842G>C (rs2233678) and -667C>T (rs2233679) may contribute to genetic susceptibility for cancer risks. Further prospective research with larger numbers of worldwide participants is warranted to draw comprehensive and firm conclusions.

        Preparation and In Vitro Evaluation of Povidone-Sodium Cholate- Phospholipid Mixed Micelles for the Solubilization of Poorly Soluble Drugs

        Mixed micelles made of polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP), sodium cholate, and phospholipids were prepared to improve the solubility of poorly water-soluble drugs. Sylibin, a drug used in treating liver diseases, was incorporated into the mixed micelles. The formulation of sylibin containing PVP-sodium cholate-phospholipid mixed micelles with an optimized composition (PVP/sodium cholate/phospholipid/silybin = 3:3:4:1~2 by weight) was obtained based on the study of pseudoternary phase diagrams. The critical micelle concentration was used to evaluate the micellar stability towards dilution. The results showed that addition of PVP to sodium-cholate-phospholipid mixed micelles increased stability. The solubility of sylibin in PVP-sodium cholate-phospholipid mixed micelles was higher than that in pure water or in sodium cholate-phospholipid mixed micelles. In a stability study, we found that PVP-sodium cholate-phospholipid mixed micelles showed good stability. After 3 months storage at 40oC, just 2.6% sylibin was lost with only minor changes of the particle size when compared to a reference formulation containing sodium cholate and phospholipid mixed micelles. In addition, the developed formulation significantly improved in vitro drug release. The time required to release 50% sylibin (t50%) from sodium cholate and phospholipid mixed micelles was 326 h, while the t50% from PVP-sodium cholate-phospholipid mixed micelles was only 51.1 h. Our results suggest that these mixed micelles might have significant potential application to the biomedical field.

        중국 무술무형문화유산의 관광산업화에 관한 탐색적 연구

        (Purpose) This paper aims to protect martial arts intangible cultural heritage and realize tourism development by utilizing basic theories and methods of tourism management and applying related theories in the fields of economics, business administration, sociology, folklore, and anthropology. (Design/methodology/approach) First, the basic framework of this study was confirmed by defining the concept of intangible cultural heritage tourism, and an analysis was conducted on the development of tourism industrialization of the three major martial arts intangible cultural heritages in China. Second, an analysis was conducted on the development of tourism industrialization of China's three major martial arts intangible cultural heritages, and shamanism and ami-museul also took advantage of their characteristics to seek a model for tourism industrialization development suitable for the situation. (Findings) China's three major martial arts intangible cultural heritage tourism industrialization projects and implementation plans were analyzed, and through this, data to refer to the development of martial arts intangible cultural heritage for tourism industrialization were prepared. In addition, in terms of legislation, funding, protection and collaboration mechanisms, and talent development of the three major martial arts intangible cultural heritages, policies for tourism industrialization of martial arts intangible cultural heritages were proposed. (Research implications or Originality) This paper laid the practical foundation for the protection, rational use, and development of Chinese intangible cultural heritage through the search for the development of the tourism industrialization of martial arts intangible cultural heritage

        Resilient Control in the Presence of DoS Attack: Switched System Approach

        This paper studies the switched resilient control of the Cyber-Physical Systems (CPSs) under Denial-of-Service (DoS) attack. We interpret the term ‘resilience’ as the ability to be both robust to the external disturbances in the physical layer, and defending against DoS attacks in the cyber layer. A hybrid-theoretical framework is proposed which is comprised of a physical control subsystem, a cyber security subsystem, and an interface which integrates the control design with the security configuration. Within this framework, the controller will switch in accordance with the competing result of the cyber attacker and defender. Our approach highlights the interaction between the physical control layer and cyber security layer and achieves the goal of coupled design. Some algorithms are provided to obtain the so-called joint defense strategies. Finally, the proposed method is applied to the voltage regulation of the Uninterrupted Power System (UPS).

        Discrete-Time Position Observer Design for Sensorless IPMSM Drives

        In order to improve the position estimation performance at high speed, this paper proposes a discrete-time observer for interior permanent magnet synchronous motor sensorless drives based on the state-transition discretization method. First, the common-adopted sensorless continuous-time domain modelling method is introduced and the corresponding drawback is analyzed. In order to overcome this drawback, a discrete-time model based on the state transition matrix is proposed considering the delay and latch eff ect of the zero-order-hold, and in this way the digital-controlled voltage command input and the discrete-time domain estimated back electromotive force can be considered in the state-transition equation in the same time. And then the closed-form sensorless scheme based on the proposed discrete-time model is introduced. Finally, the proposed sensorless scheme has been verifi ed by steady-state and dynamic experiments. The results show that the position error is deceased by 0.5°, and the system stability has been also greatly improved especially at high speed with a smaller position and speed error fl uctuation.

        A Position Error Compensation Method for Sensorless IPMSM Based on the Voltage Output of the Current-Loop PI-Regulator

        For sensorless control, the rotor position estimation performance is aff ected by the load change. In order to solve this problem, this paper proposes a position error compensation method based on the voltage output of the current-loop PI-regulator for interior permanent magnet synchronous motors. First, a traditional rotor position observer based on the rotor reference frame has been presented and it reveals that the estimated error position taken as an input of phase-locked loop is not the actual position error. Second, the relationship between the voltage output of the current-loop PI-regulator and the position error has been found out and the position error extraction model is proposed. In order to compensate the position error in the rotor reference frame, a novel position error compensation model is proposed based on the voltage and current inputs of the two-phase stationary reference frame. Finally, the proposed position error compensation method has been verifi ed by experiments position and the estimation accuracy is improved. The results show that the position error fl uctuates around zero after the compensation and the fl uctuation amplitude is 1°.

        Improved oral bioavailability of capsaicin via liposomal nanoformulation: preparation, in vitro drug release and pharmacokinetics in rats

        This study innovatively prepared an effectivecapsaicin-loaded liposome, a nanoformulation with fewerirritants, for oral administration. The in vitro and in vivoproperties of the liposomal encapsulation were investigatedand the potential possibility of oral administration evaluated. The liposomal agent composed of phospholipid, cholesterol,sodium cholate and isopropyl myristate was prepared usingfilm-dispersion method. A level A in vitro–in vivo correlation(IVIVC) was established for the first time, which demonstratedan excellent IVIVC of both formulated and freecapsaicin in oral administration. Physicochemical characterizationsincluding mean particle size, zeta (f) potentialand average encapsulation efficiency of capsaicin-loadedliposome were found to be 52.2 ± 1.3 nm, -41.5 ±2.71 mv and 81.9 ± 2.43 %, respectively. In vivo, liposomalencapsulation allowed a 3.34-fold increase in relativebioavailability compared to free capsaicin. The gastricmucosa irritation studies indicated that the liposomal systemwas a safe carrier for oral administration. These resultssupport the fact that capsaicin, an effective drug for thetreatment of neuropathic pain, could be encapsulated inliposome for improved oral bioavailability. The excellentIVIVC of capsaicin-loaded liposome could also be a promisingtool in liposomal formulation development with anadded advantage of reduced animal testing.
