In this article, thermal nanoimprint lithography (thermal-NIL) has been utilized to transfer the microgroove pattern onto the plastic substrate. Without coating alignment polymer, the microgrooves on the flexible substrates can align liquid crystals (LCs) directly. The flexible LC cell is shown to maintain comparable electro-optical properties while bending. The plastic film and the alignment layer integrated into an alignment substrate could effectively prevent cracks of the additional polymer alignment layer during the bending process. This method is applicable to the roll-to-roll process to increase the production efficiency. Aims: TASL HCV Registry (TACR) is a nationwide registry program organized and supervised by Taiwan Association for the Study of the Liver (TASL), which aims to setup the database and biobank of patients with chronic hepatitis C (CHC) in Taiwan. The present study aimed to evaluate the treatment outcome of sofosbuvir (SOF)/ledipasvir (LDV) in Taiwanese CHC patients in TACR. Methods: By May 2020, 19 tertiary hospitals, 23 community hospitals and one primary care clinic join the TACR program. The baseline characteristics, prior liver and non-liver related medical history, DAA regimens, laboratory results, treatment course and outcome were recorded. The primary objective was sustained virological response, defined as undetectable HCV RNA 3 months after end-of-treatment (SVR12). Results: A total of 4742 SOF/LDV+ ribavirin treated CHC patients with available SVR12 data from 39 sites were enrolled in the current analysis. The mean age was 61.3 years, and female accounted for 54.8% of the population. The dominant viral genotypes were GT1b (52.6%) and GT2 (35.6%). 1354 (28.6%) patients had liver cirrhosis, including 156 (3.3%) with liver decompensation, 552 (11.6%) had preexisting hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) before DAAs treatment and 413 (8.7%) had hepatitis B virus dual infections. The overall SVR12 rate was 98.5%, with 98.5%, 98.2%, 99.7% and 98.6% in treatment- naïve non-cirrhotics, treatment-naïve cirrhotics, treatment- experienced non-cirrhotics and treatment-experienced cirrhotics patients, respectively. While patients were stratified by HCV genotype, the SVR12 was 98.5%, 98.4% and 98.5% among those with GT1, GT2 and GT6 infection, respectively. The strongest factor independent associated with treatment failure was DAA adherence < 60% (odds ratio [OR]/95% confidence intervals [CI]: 125.4/25.7-612.4, P<0.0001), followed by active HCC (OR/CI: 6.20/2.57-14.97, P<0.0001), HIV co-infection (OR/CI: 3.01/1.14-7.92, P=0.026), and male gender (OR/ CI: 1.85/1.09-3.13, P=0.023). The eGFR decreased significantly at the end of treatment (EOT) (89.3 ml/min/1.73㎡ vs. 93.2 ml/min/1.73㎡, P< 0.001) and remained stable 3 months after EOT (89.3 ml/min/1.73㎡). However, the decreased eGFR was observed only in patients whose baseline eGFR > 90 ml/ min/1.73㎡. Instead, patients with chronic kidney diseases whose pretreatment eGFR < 60 ml/min/1.73㎡ had improved eGFR after SOF/LDV. Conclusions: SOF/LDV is highly effective in treating CHC patients in real-world setting of Taiwan. The satisfactory result could be explicitly generalized to patients with different viral genotypes and liver disease severities.

Since a large amount of waste polyester-cotton blended textiles can cause environmental pollution problems,it is crucial to develop sustainable technology for recycling textile wastes and producing valueaddedproducts. In this research, regenerated cellulose and polyester were obtained from thepolyester-cotton jean wastes by a sustainable process through the selective dissolving of cellulose fibersusing an ionic liquid (ILs), 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride ([Bmim]Cl). We developed an environmentallybenign decoloration approach without the bleaching or leaching processes. Instead, cellulose, polyester, and ILs were recycled from the selective degradation of indigo carmine (IC) or indigo dye inthe dye/ILs solution using the Bi11VO19 photocatalyst without impairing the dissolution capability ofILs. The selective decoloration of dye solution extracted from waste textiles involves interactions amongphotocatalysts, colorants, fibers, and media (ILs). The changes of dye and ILs molecules during the photocatalysisreaction were analyzed. FTIR and Raman spectra of the recycled ILs reveal that the chemicalstructure of ILs remains unchanged after the photocatalytic decoloration process. The ILs and photocatalystscan be recycled for repeated production of regenerated cellulose from waste jeans.
Pave the Way to Future Smart Living Space - Cross-layer Enhanced AAA for 4G Core Network
Tin-Yu Wu,Chi-Yuan Chen,Kai-Di Chang,Diego Chung,Han-Chieh Chao 보안공학연구지원센터 2007 International Journal of Smart Home Vol.1 No.2
The 4th generation mobile communication system certainly will have a lot of improvement such as supporting higher multimedia loading, offering faster transmission rate, and the implementation of IP. The future service of the network will be definitely conveyed into an All-IP network. To allow people to better perform their daily living activities, improve the life quality, and enjoy entertainment and leisure activities, we proposed our system in this paper. This system is built upon a new technology of a 4G network, which includes the user authentication in heterogeneous network, the key generation, and data encryption that later merged together into a cross layer network for smart living space. This technology can develop a smart and convenient way of living.
The development of Taiwan Fracture Liaison Service network

Osteoporosis and its associated fragility fractures are becoming a severe burden in the healthcare system globally. In the Asian-Pacific (AP) region, the rapidly increasing in aging population is the main reason accounting for the burden. Moreover, the paucity of quality care for osteoporosis continues to be an ongoing challenge. The Fracture Liaison Service (FLS) is a program promoted by International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF) with a goal to improve quality of postfracture care and prevention of secondary fractures. In this review article, we would like to introduce the Taiwan FLS network. The first 2 programs were initiated in 2014 at the National Taiwan University Hospital and its affiliated Bei-Hu branch. Since then, the Taiwan FLS program has continued to grow exponentially. Through FLS workshops promoted by the Taiwanese Osteoporosis Association (TOA), program mentors have been able to share their valuable knowledge and clinical experience in order to promote establishments of additional programs. With 22 FLS sites including 11 successfully accredited on the best practice map, Taiwan remains as one of the highest FLS coverage countries in the AP region, and was also granted the IOF Best Secondary Fracture Prevention Promotion award in 2017. Despite challenges faced by the TOA, we strive to promote more FLS sites in Taiwan with a main goal of ameliorating further health burden in managing osteoporotic patients.
