<P>One of the most important factors in the production of cartilage is transforming growth factor beta1 (TGF-beta1). To obtain sustained release of TGF-beta1, a cell-mediated gene therapy technique was introduced. We infected chondrocytes with a retroviral vector carrying the TGF-beta1 gene. The single clone derivative showed sustained TGF-beta1 secretion. It also showed constitutive type II collagen expression. Whereas the TGF-beta1 protein itself is unable to induce formation of cartilage in vivo, human chondrocytes engineered to express a retroviral vector encoding TGF-beta1 showed cartilage formation in vivo when cells were injected into nude mice intradermally. These data suggest that cell-mediated gene therapy using TGF-beta1 as a transgene would be a promising treatment for osteoarthritis.</P>

This paper is to study and analyze the change factor including with combustion engine to electric car. In recent, the fossil fuel that a great part of the energy source existence in the earth was brought on the global warming phenomenon endangering the survial of mankind. It was been at the end of one’s rope that a mankind had to change with the electric car for decreasing a CO2 from the emission gas in the vehicle. But for changing a electric car, the every nations in the world must devicefully resolve the reduced work problem and the derivation problem causing with decline of the petroleum consumption. Resulting do a survey for purchase reason of a electric car, the cost of fuel was investigated in the highest ratio of 56.5% in the survey. This is the most important factor for economical aspect like fuel expense reduction. To increase the electric car, the charge expense will be maintained with low price continuously. In the questionnaire survey analysis for the supply expansion of electric car, a charging station secure was investigated in the highest ratio of 44.7% in the survey. This can forecast to think more important the practical convience than the electric vehicle price and environmentfriendly awareness. The prospect of electric vehicle marcket is predicted that the car makers to live in heavy competition must quickly read the market situation and sales strategy in the world because of discrepancy reduction of technical between the conventional and new car makers.

In Korea, like many other countries, the mean height has been increasing in last several decades. In such countries anthropometric data will be outdated sooner or later. The information on the speed of the secular change in height in last several decades is useful to judge if the database is still representing the intended target population or to judge how long the latest database will serve as the reference data. The comparison of the growth and body silhouette in both sexes are compaired in this paper. In female, height increases from birth to maturity 3.2 times (for comparison it is 3.5 times for men) mainly due to rapid growth in leg length. On average, maturity of growth in height is reached at the age of 18-19 years for males and 16-17 years for females. In the body development features of the population group represented by the height, girl subjects are shown to grow upward rapidly during the height range 104-135 cm (approximately 4-9 years). For during the years represented by the height range 104-35cm boy subjects also grow upwards rapidly, remaining slim, while in the latter years they tend to consolidate or broaden. The body girth dimensions which exibit a jump in magnitude at the 140 cm height distinguish primarily for bust and hip development combined with the normal body ‘consolidation’ that occurs also with boys.
Development of the standard based on Korean Anthropometry Data

Standardization is one of the most important inventions that humans devised reflecting their culture and their history. For our purpose, standardization can be defined as an agreement among parties concerning the features/characteristics of clothes that one can consider as convenient, efficient and/or safe. However, more generally, all that each society of humans agrees upon, thus, language, writing symbols, rules or laws, which allows to maintain order in groups, customs to keep traditions and so on can be considered as the results or acts of standardization. This paper deals with secular trends of height, chest/bust girth, waist girth and hip girth spanning 1979 to 2010 as well as the morphological feature patterns for Koreans. It also investigates the comparison of the growth pattern and body proportions between male and female based on the anthropometric data samples of KATS taken from the 2010 surveys. The results are classified with body size and shape categories according to the drop values by age and sex in order to develop the new guidelines for the size standard systems based on these body dimensions from the analyzed anthropometric database.

The mean height of 1997 and 2010 for both sexes increased approximately 4 cm to 5 cm. The mean height of both adults remains almost the same in the surveys of 1997 and 2010. However, the mean height of girls aged from 8-9 years increased about 1-2 cm from 1997 to 2010, which indicates early fast maturing somatotype. Also, the mean height of girls aged from 8-9 years increased by 7-8 cm in the last several decades from 1986 to 1997 These new guidelines for the standard system based on anthropometric data will eliminate the confusion that currently exists among countries and individual apparel designers.

This paper proposes a broadcast software download (BSD) scheme for a 10-gigabit-capable passive optical network (XG-PON), which dramatically reduces the time required to update a remotely-located user terminal's software. The performance of the proposed BSD is examined by numerical analysis and demonstrated by experimental verification on our XG-PON test platforms. The results show that the BSD takes less than 5 minutes to update 45 user-terminal software, while the conventional unicast software download scheme normally takes more than one and half hours.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Limitation of current anti-Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF) cancer therapy is transitory responses, inevitable relapses and its insufficient tumor-targeting. Thus, multifaceted approaches, including the development of bispecific antibodies and combination strategies targeting different pathways have been proposed as an alternative. Here, we developed a novel multi-paratopic VEGF decoy receptor, Cetuximab-VEGF-Grab and Trastuzumab-VEGF-Grab, by genetically fusing VEGF decoy receptor (VEGF-Grab) to a single chain Fv of anti-Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor (EGFR) antibody (Cetuximab and Trastuzumab). These multi-paratopic VEGF decoy receptor, which recognize VEGF and EGFR family (EGFR or HER2), effectively suppressed both VEGF and EGFR pathways <I>in vitro</I>, to levels similar to those of the parental VEGF-Grab and anti-EGFR antibodies. In addition, the concurrent binding of multi-paratopic VEGF decoy receptor to VEGF and EGFR family enabled their specific localization to EGFR + tumor <I>in vitro</I> and <I>in vivo.</I> Furthermore, Cetuximab-VEGF-Grab and Trastuzumab-VEGF-Grab exhibited the enhanced anti-tumor activities compared to VEGF-Grab in EGFR + tumor xenograft mouse model via anti-EGFR and the targeted anti-angiogenic activities. These results indicate that multi-paratopic VEGF decoy receptor can be a promising agent, combining tumor-targeted anti-angiogenic therapy with efficient blockade of proliferative signals mediated by EGFR family.</P>
