      • 김소월의 「시혼(詩魂)」에 나타난 ‘미적 아이러니’의 성격

        본고의 목적은 1925년 『開闢』제59호에 발표된 김소월의 산문 「시혼(詩魂)」의 텍스트를 중심으로 김소월의 시 세계에 나타난 미적 아이러니의 성격을 살펴보는 데에 있다. 김소월이 남긴 유일한 ‘시론’격의 산문인 「시혼(詩魂)」을 통해 김소월의 미적 세계관과 그 자신이 염두에 둔 시학의 단면을 유추할 수 있으며, 그것은 일면, 미적 근대성의 한 지표인 낭만적 아이러니 혹은 미적 아이러니적 성격으로 확인 가능하다는 것이 본고의 입장이다. 독일 낭만주의 전통에서 시작해 현재까지도 재서술되고 있는 ‘미적 아이러니’의 개념은 수사학을 뛰어넘는 ‘예술 일반의 원리’로 근대적 미학과 깊은 연관성을 가지고 있다. 프리드리히 슐레겔이 지적한 대로, 미적 아이러니는 “자기 창조와 자기 부정의 영원한 교환’’으로써, 이는 김소월의 시적 세계를 관통하고 있는 하나의 현상적 사태이기도 하다. 김소월은 ‘문명 대 자연’이라는 원형적인 대립 상황 속에서 문명/자연, 봉건/근대, 농촌/도시, 신민/제국, 신문명/야만이라는 다중의 괴리 상태에 놓인 채, 시를 써야 했으며, 분열된 근대적 주체로써 세계와의 합일(合一)이 불가능한 실존적 상황에서, 낮보다는 밤을, 삶보다는 죽음에 천착하여, 그곳에서 길어올린 미적 아이러니를 통해 자신의 시 세계를 구축하는 동시에 다시금 그 세계를 부정하며 그 “부정을 영속화”했다. 김소월은 「시혼(詩魂)」을 통해 아름다움(美)을 통해서만이 ‘죽음-시간-개인-자유’의 문제가 해소될 수 있다고 봄으로써, 근대적 의미의 예술의 자율성을 제시한다. 김소월의 시적 자유는 부재(不在)를 찾아다니는 무궁(無窮)의 유희(spiel) 상황 속에 놓인다. 한국 현대시사에서 능동적으로 모더니티를 내재화하고 그것을 작품에 드러낸 김소월의 강력한 ‘자기 부정의 기재’는 바로 ‘시간’ ‘부재’ ‘죽음’ 등의 근대적 미적 개념들이었다. 김소월은 ‘현대성’을 ‘계몽’으로 읽어내지 않은 시인이었다. 그 대신 ‘미적 주체의 자기 반성적 기능’을 미적 현대성의 중요한 기제로 이해한 시인으로 봐야 한다. 그것은 김소월이 ‘미적 주체’ 즉 작품으로만 존재할 수밖에 없는 ‘시적 자아’를 내재적으로 인식하고 있었다는 뜻이며, 이것야말로, 모더니티의 한 현상인 ‘분열된 개인의 발견’을 명증하게 보여주는 방중이라 할 수 있을 것이다. The purpose of this thesis is to examine the character of the esthetic irony of Kim So-wol’s poetic world, focusing on Sihon (‘Poetic Soul’), a prose work by Kim So-wol which was published in No. 59 of Gaebyeok in 1925. The thesis suggests that we can guess at a cross section of Kim So-wol’s esthetic view and the poetics that he kept in mind through Sihon, a prose work that constituted the only essay on poetic theory. The concept of 'esthetic irony’, which started in the German Romantic tradition and continues to be rewritten to this day, is ‘the principle of art in general’ that transcends rhetorics and is deeply related to the modem esthetics. As was pointed out by Karl Wilhelm Friedrich Schlegel, esthetic irony is “an eternal exchange between self-creation and self-denial”, which is a phenomenal event that pierces the poetic world of Kim So-wol. Kim So-wol had to write poetry, while facing the multiple discrepancies between civilization and nature, feudalism and modernity, country and city, subjects and empire, and new civilization and barbarism in the prototypal opposition between ‘civilization and nature’. In the existential situation where he could not become one with the world as a divided modem subject, he worked on night rather than on day, and death rather than on life. And there, the poet built his poetic world through the esthetic irony, and “perpetuated the denial” by denying the world. Kim So-wol demonstrates the autonomy of art in the modem sense in Sihon by assuming that the problem of ‘death-time-individual-freedom’, may be dissolved only through beauty. Kim So-wol’s poetic freedom lies in the unended spiel in search of absence. The powerful ‘mechanism of self-denial’ in Kim So-wol who actively internalized modernity and revealed it in his works represented the modem esthetic concepts such as ‘time’, ‘absence’, and ‘death’ in the history of modem Korean poetry. Kim So-wol was a poet who did not read ‘modernity’ as ‘enlightenment’. Instead, he should be viewed as a poet who understood ‘the self-reflection of an esthetic subject’ as an important mechanism of esthetic modernity. It means that Kim So-wol carried in himself ‘the poetic self that could not but exist as ‘an esthetic subject’, that is, a work, which is circumstantial evidence that clearly shows ‘the discovery of a divided individual’, a phenomenon in the modernity.

        Scale-Down and Sr-Doping Effects on La<sub>4</sub>Ni<sub>3</sub>O<sub>10-<i>δ</i></sub>–YSZ Nanocomposite Cathodes for IT-SOFCs

        <P>Among the Ruddlesden-Popper series, La(n+1)NinO(3n+1) (n = 1, 2, and 3) has attracted tremendous attention as an intermediate temperature solid oxide fuel cell (IT-SOFC) cathode because of its favorable properties for realizing high performance. Inter alia, La4Ni3O10-delta (n = 3) has in particular gained recognition as a promising cathode material owing to its high electrical conductivity and cell performance in IT-SOFC applications. The fabrication of nano-sized La4Ni3O10-delta composites requires a low sintering temperature process because high sintering temperature gives rise to solid state reactions between the constituents, which leads to the formation of an undesired electrical insulator and the formation of a low surface area thin-film on the surface. The infiltration method is therefore chosen to fabricate nano-sized La4Ni3O10-delta composites because it can provide reduced particle size of La4Ni3O10-d by separating the sintering process of the cathode from the high temperature sintering process of the electrolyte. In this work, we investigated the electrochemical properties of La4Ni3O10-delta composites prepared by an infiltration method in terms of application as an IT-SOFC cathode material as well as the effect of strontium doping at La sites.         How does Voluntary Carbon Disclosure (VCD) Induce Changes in Carbon Performance? With the Role of Management Capability

        While there a growing interest in Voluntary Carbon Disclosure (VCD), comparatively little is discussed whether the improved quality of voluntary carbon disclosure can lead to subsequent changes in a company's carbon reduction performance. Drawing on companies under the Korean Emission Trading Scheme (ETS) with the contents analysis of their sustainable reports, the present research seeks to address the existing knowledge gaps in the current literature on environmental disclosure. Findings empirically show that an increase in the voluntary carbon disclosure score is positively transformed into changes in carbon performance and further develop that the effect of voluntary carbon disclosure on carbon performance varies depending on changes in management capability with the moderation effect.

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>There is increasing demand for versatile catalysts for direct hydrocarbon utilization with the coming of hydrocarbon economy. The catalysts are required to possess both high catalytic activities and excellent carbon coking tolerance for the hydrocarbon oxidation process. In this regard, we considered Ni-based alloy catalysts, <I>e.g</I>. Ni-Co, Ni-Cu, and Ni-Fe, which are expected to provide synergistic effects from the high catalytic activities of Ni and the high carbon coking tolerance of transition metals. We conduct a systematic investigation of catalytic effects on the electrochemical properties and the carbon coking tolerance of the candidates. Moreover, the binding strengths of H, O, and C species with each alloy catalyst were examined via density functional theory (DFT) calculations, providing insight into the trend of catalytic activity and carbon coking tolerance. In this study, the single cell for the solid oxide fuel cell with Ni-Fe catalyst shows the best electrochemical performance, 0.81 and 0.30Wcm<SUP>−2</SUP> at 700°C under H<SUB>2</SUB> and C<SUB>3</SUB>H<SUB>8</SUB>, respectively, with excellent tolerance against carbon deposition.</P>

        Differential expression of the LOX family genes in human colorectal adenocarcinomas

        <P>Lysyl oxidase (LOX) is an amine oxidase that catalyzes the cross-linking of collage or elastin in the extracellular matrix, regulating the tensile strength and structural integrity of connective tissues. Recently, four paralogues (LOXL, LOXL2, LOXL3 and LOXL4) of LOX have been identified in humans, each containing the functional domains required for the amine oxidase activity toward collagen and elastin. Paradoxical roles of the LOX family members have been reported in various neoplastic tissues as tumor suppressors or promoters depending on tumor status and type. To address expression of the LOX family genes in colorectal adenocarcinomas, we performed real-time PCR analysis with matched tumor/normal tissue specimens from 104 patients. The expression of the LOX family genes was not statistically associated with tumor location, stage, growth type, or differentiation status. However, upregulation of LOX, LOXL2 and LOXL4 was significantly correlated with absence of lymphovascular invasion (P=0.012, 0.014 and 0.005, respectively), suggesting that the oxygen tension in or around the tumors may be an important regulator for the differential expression of LOX, LOXL2 and LOXL4 in colorectal cancer. Additionally, expression of LOX, but not the other LOX family genes, was significantly upregulated in patients with a diffuse cytoplasmic expression pattern of CEA, indicating that LOX upregulation may be associated with increased invasiveness and metastatic potential in colorectal cancer.</P>

        톤 제어 방식의 CI/OFDM 통신 시스템 설계와 IMD 저감을 이용한 BER 성능 향상

        OFDM(orthogonal frequency division multiplexing)은 높은 데이터 전송률과 고속의 데이터 전송에 매우 효과적인 시스템이다. 그러나 높은 PAPR(peak to average power ratio) 때문에 송신기의 비선형 HPA(high power amplifier)에서 비선형 왜곡이 되어 통신성능이 매우 나빠진다. 본 논문에서는 통신 성능을 개선하기 위하여 비선형 왜곡에 의한 IMD(inter-modulation distortion)를 저감 기법을 기반으로 하는 톤 제어 방식의 CI/OFDM (tone-controlled carrier interferometry orthogonal frequency division multiplexing)을 제안한다. 톤 제어 방식의 CI/OFDM 시스템은 CI/OFDM 시스템의 각 데이터 심볼마다 추가로 컨트롤 톤을 삽입하여 비선형의 영향을 미치는 PAPR과 IMD를 감소시켜 비선형에 보다 잘 대처할 수 있는 방법이다. 그러므로, PAPR 저감을 기반으로 한 기존의 방법보다 BER(bit error rate) 성능을 더 향상시킴을 보인다. OFDM(orthogonal frequency division multiplexing) is very effective forhigh data rate transmission system. However, communication performance becomes worse because of nonlinear distortion resulting from the PAPR. In this paper, we like to propose a tone-controlled CI/OFDM system including the IMD (inter-modulation distortion) reduction method in order to improve the BER performance. In this tone-controlled CI/OFDM system, control tone is additionally inserted in each data symbol of CI/OFDM system to make the CI/OFDM lower the PAPR and robust to nonlinear distortion. So, tone-controlled CI/OFDM using the IMD reduction method shows better BER (bit error rate) performance than methods based on PAPR reduction.
