Objectives : Several lines of evidence suggest the serotonergic dysfunction involved in the biological susceptibility of suicide. Tryptophan hydroxylase (TPH), the rate-limiting enzyme in the biosynthesis of serotonin, Plays a vital role in serotonin metabolism. In a case-control study, we investigated whether the TPH gene was a susceptible factor for suicidal behavior in depressive patients. Methods : The subjects were 218 depressed patients who attempted suicide and visited emergency rooms in multi-medical centers. One hundred thirty hospitalized non-suicidal depressed patients and the 161 normal controls were matched with the suicidal group. Individuals in all 3 groups were evaluated independently by a Structured Clinical Interview for the purpose of establishing a DSM-IV criteria diagnosis (SCID). The severity of depressive symptoms was evaluated using Hamilton depression rating scale (HDRS). Results : There was no significant difference in genotype distributions and allele frequencies of TPH intron 7 A218C polymorphisms among 3 groups. Furthermore, no significant difference in genotype counts and allele frequencies of the polymorphisms was found among lethal suicidal depressed patients, non-suicidal depressed patients and the normal controls. Conclusion : This study suggests that the A218C polymorphism of the TPH gene is unlikely to have a major effect on the susceptibility of suicidal behaviors in depressive patients.
2-Amino-1-cyclopentene-1-dithiocarboxylate 유도체들의 전극 반응메카니즘

N-methyl-2-amino-1-cyclopentene-1-dithiocarboxylic acid(N-CH₃acdc)와 2-amino-1-cyclopentene-1-dithiomethyl ester(S-Ch₃acdc)의 전기화학적 거동을 직류롤라로그래피, 순환전압전류법 및 조절전위 전기량법을 사용하여 dimethylformamide(DMF) 용매 중에서 조사하였다. N-CHacdc의 이합체는 +0.98V에서 2전자 산화반응을 거쳐 s가 한 원자 유리된 다섯원자 고리를 형성하는 전극반응이 일어남을 알았다. 그러나, S-CH₃acdc의 경우에 있어서는 N-CH₃acdc 화합물과는 달리 다섯원자 고리를 형성하지 않았으므로 N-CH₃acdc와는 다른 전극반응을 일으킴을 확인하였다. The electrochemical behavior of N-methyl-2-amino-1-cyclopotent-1-dithiocarboxylic acid (N-CH₃acdc) and 2-amino-1-cyclooptent-1-dithiomethyl ester (S-CH₃acdc) in DMF have been investigated by the use of polyargraphy, cyclic voltammetry and colometry. The dimer of N-CH₃acdc is further oxidized at +0.98 V via 2-electron process to produce free sulfur atom and cyclization product. The ring formation between two dithio group occurs along with the elimination of one sulfur atom. The elimination of sulfur atom occurs via two electron oxidation process at +0.98V vs. Ag/AgCl electrrode. However, the cyclization does not occur in the S-CH₃acdc.

An expanded pipe is an important device in designing energy system such as combustion chamber, heat exchanger and turbulence generator. In this study, mean velocity distribution and turbulent, fluctuation component of u' in the expanded pipe of which diffuser angles are ½θ=90。, 60。, 30。 and 15。 from 16㎜φ pipe to 32㎜φ pipe are measured by LDV system. Reynolds number of the experiments are from 8,000 to 60,000 approximately based on diameter and mean velocity of the large pipe. From the experiments, velocity profile at 150mm downstream from the diffuser become closer to fully developed velocity profile as Reynolds number becomes greater and the diffuser angle becomes smaller. However, turbulent fluctuation components of u' were almost uniform or homogeneous at the same location across cross section of the pipe for almost measuring condition. Therefore, these experimental data could be utilized in design of turbulence generator with parameters of velocity. angle of the diffuser and distance from the diffuser. Furthermore, velocity profiles and turbulent fluctuation components at 50㎜ upstream from the diffuser are also measured in order to use these data as inlet condition in numerical computation for comparison between experimental and computational data in an expanded pipe.
탄소섬유의 CVD-SiC 증착특성에 미치는 CH₃SiCl₃대 H₂의 비율의 영향

Chemical vapor deposition of SiC on carbon fibers was investigated to improve oxidation resistance of carbon fibers, which was performed at the horizontal hot-wall reactor using the reactant mixtures of CH₃SiCl₃and H₂ with carrier gas Ar. The chemical composition, oxidation resistance, and tensile strength of SiC-coated carbon fiber were investigated as functions of CH₃SiCl₃/H₂ ratio, reaction temperature, coating thickness, and so on. The composition of deposited layer revealed C rich β-SiC at low hydrogen concentration and Si rich β-SiC at high hydrogen concentration. Because Si rich β-SiC layer is easy to be converted into SiO₂ favorable to oxidation resistance, high input value of H₂/CH₃SiCl₃ mole ratio resulted in good oxidation resistance in the SiC coating layer of carbon fibers.

Background: Many patients successfully treated for Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC) lung disease experience recurrence. This study analyzed the recurrence rate and risk factors for recurrence in patients successfully treated for MAC lung disease. Methods: The medical records of 158 patients successfully treated for MAC lung disease at a tertiary referral center in South Korea between March 2000 and December 2009 were retrospectively analyzed. Recurrence was recorded, and factors associated with recurrence were analyzed. Results: The mean age of the 158 patients was 60.7 ± 11.1 year; 75 (47.5%) were male. The etiologic agent was Mycobacterium avium in 77 patients (48.7%) and Mycobacterium intracellulare in 81 (51.3%). Forty-nine patients (31.0%) had the fibrocavitary form of the disease. Almost all patients had been previously treated with a macrolide-containing regimen, and 68 (43.0%) had received an aminoglycoside. During a median follow-up of 43.8 months, 50 (31.6%) patients experienced recurrence, at a median 11.9 months after treatment completion. Recurrence rate was higher in patients aged > 65 than in those = 65 years (p = 0.028) and those with the nodular bronchiectatic form than with other forms of the disease (p = 0.002). Multivariate analysis showed that only the nodular bronchiectatic form of the disease (odds ratio = 3.22, 95% confidence interval 1.42-7.27) was independently associated with increased risk of recurrence. Conclusions: Recurrence after successful treatment is frequent in patients with MAC lung disease. The recurrence rate was significantly higher in patients with the nodular bronchiectatic form of the disease.

The purpose of research in this thesis is to analyze the peculiarity of phraseological expressions of modern Russian based on a linguistic cultural theory which is initially researched by Veretshagin and Kostomarov in the 1970s and is gradually developed by other scholars in the standpoint for foreign learners. As the phraseological expressions including proverb, aphorism and idiom entail ethnic custom and national cultural characteristics formed for a long time, the use of the expressions might be difficult to native as well as to foreigners who try to present sophisticated linguistic expression. The phraseological expressions involve denotative meaning possessing commonly general word, significative meaning and connotative meaning showing national cultural sentiment. In particular, there are many illustrations that the connotative meaning would not be only understood by a pure lexical meaning without cultural and regional explication. The analysis of the historical linguistics of phraseological expressions and the contrastive analysis between two languages for foreigners are indispensable for perfect understanding and appropriate use of speakers about the connotative meaning. In this thesis, to define the cultural peculiarity possessing the phraseological expressions of Russian language, the course of historical development and phraseological background is analyzed and the contrastive analysis of phraseological expressions between Russian and Korean language is attempted to help comprehension in the practical aspect.
Site Quality Evaluation Prototype for Building Deck-plate Construction

Deck-plates are widely used on construction sites, and have the advantage of enabling contractors to achieve a relatively uniform quality. But nevertheless, quality deviation in deck-plate construction can occur as the result of differences in site conditions and the experience of crew workers. In this study, the authors present a site quality evaluation prototype for building deck-plate construction. Through analyses of case studies and interviews with experts, standard quality check sheets and a quality management index were developed by estimating the importance of quality check items based on a Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) method. The applicability and effectiveness of the prototype was evaluated through a case study and interviews with case participants. It was found that the prototype promoted an active quality management as a way of continuously improving quality management in deck-plate construction instead of passive quality inspection practice.
