<P>This paper introduces a globally optimal algorithm for obtaining the rotational displacement between the coordinate frames of a rotation sensor and a camera that are rigidly attached. Our method minimizes the geometrically meaningful error using a branch-and-bound algorithm to find the global solution. For this, we derive a bounding inequality and corresponding feasibility problem for a top-down efficient search over the rotation space to minimize the L1-, L2-, or L infinity- norm error function. Experiments are performed with synthetic and real data sets to show the efficacy of the algorithm. (C) 2017 Optical Society of America</P>

Studies on the chemical constituents from a Korean wild mushroom, Phellinus ribis, were carried out. A triterpenoid, two peroxysterols, and a chlorobenzene compound were isolated from the hexane soluble fraction of the methanol extract of dried fruiting bodies of the basidomycetes. Those compounds identifed were 3-hydroxy-20(29)-lupen-28-oic acid (betulinic acid), 5,8-epidioxyergosta-6,22-dien-3-ol(ergosterol peroxide), 5,8-epidioxyergosta-6,9(11),22-trien-3-ol (dehydroperoxyergosterol), and 1,2,4,5-tetrachloro-3,6-dimethoxybenzene. Structural studies were carried out on molecular species of a ceramide and cerebroside isolated from the chloroform soluble fraction of the methanol extract. For ceramide, the major component fatty acids were a-hydroxy fatty acid isomers of $C_{22:00}{\sim}C_{25:00};$ the predominant long-chain bases were trihydroxy sphinganine of $C_{17}{\sim}C_{18}$. The structure of a cerebroside containing mono-sugar was assumed that the long-chain base was $C_{19:2}$ sphingadienine; the major fatty acids were $C_{16}{\sim}C_{15}$ ${\alpha}$-hydroxy fatty acid isomers.

<P>We demonstrate that hole injection from a top electrode composed of Au nanoparticles (AuNPs) capped with a thick Au layer into an underlying organic semiconductor, <I>N</I>,<I>N</I>′-diphenyl-<I>N</I>,<I>N</I>′-bis-[4-(phenyl-<I>m</I>-tolyl-amino)-phenyl]-biphenyl-4,4′-diamine (DNTPD), is significantly enhanced compared to that in a control device whose top electrode is composed entirely of a thick Au layer. The fabrication of this organic hole-only device with the AuNP electrode is made possible by dry, room-temperature distribution of AuNPs onto DNTPD using a spark-discharge aerosol technique capable of varying the average diameter (<I>D̅</I>) of the AuNPs. The enhancement in hole injection is found to increase with decreasing <I>D̅</I>, with the current density of a device with <I>D̅</I> = 1.1 nm being more than 3 orders of magnitude larger than that of the control device. Intensity-modulated photocurrent measurements show that the built-in potentials of the devices with the AuNP electrode are smaller than that of the control device by as much as 0.68 V, indicating that the enhanced hole injection originates from the increased work functions of these devices, which in turn decreases the hole injection barrier heights. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy reveals that the increased work functions of the AuNP electrodes are due to surface oxidation of the AuNPs resulting in AuN and Au<SUB>3</SUB>N. The degree of oxidation of the AuNPs increases with decreasing <I>D̅</I>, consistent with the <I>D̅</I>-dependencies of the hole injection enhancement and the built-in potential reduction.</P> [FIG OMISSION]</BR>

This paper includes a review of 555 drug-facilitated sexual assault (DFSA) cases analyzed at the National Forensic Service (NFS), South Korea, between 2006 and 2012. The results of toxicological analyses of blood and urine samples were also reported, and furthermore the results were interpreted with respect to the number of drugs detected. The number of DFSA cases was highest during warmer summer months and the mean age of the victims was 25 years, with 48% being between 20 and 29 years. Accommodations or entertainment places were the most frequent place of the sexual assault (57%); and the assailant was a stranger in 72% of the DFSA cases. Drugs were identified in the blood or urine samples in 145 cases (26%) and sedative-hypnotics, such as benzodiazepines and zolpidem, were the most commonly detected, along with sedative antihistamines such as doxylamine and diphenhydramine. The frequent presence of sedative drugs in biological samples tends to implicate their use in chemical submission. However, interpreting the analytical results in terms of voluntary vs. surreptitious administration of drugs requires further detailed investigation and knowledge of the victim's health status and medication used at the time of event.

<P>Photoswitching or modulation of quantum dots (QDs) can be promising for many fields that include display, memory, and super-resolution imaging. However, such modulations have mostly relied on photomodulations of conjugated molecules in QD vicinity, which typically require high power of high energy photons at UV. We report a visible light-induced facile modulation route for QD-dye conjugates. QD crystal violets conjugates (QD-CVs) were prepared and the crystal violet (CV) molecules on QD quenched the fluorescence efficiently. The fluorescence of QD-CVs showed a single cycle of emission burst as they go through three stages of (i) initially quenched off to (ii) photoactivated on as the result of chemical change of CVs induced by photoelectrons from QD and (iii) back to photodarkened off by radical-associated reactions. Multicolor on-demand photopatterning was demonstrated using QD-CV solid films. QD-CVs were introduced into cells, and excitation with visible light yielded photomodulation from off to on and off by nearly ten fold. Individual photoluminescence dynamics of QD-CVs was investigated using fluorescence correlation spectroscopy and single QD emission analysis, which revealed temporally stochastic photoactivations and photodarkenings. Exploiting the stochastic fluorescence burst of QD-CVs, simultaneous multicolor super-resolution localizations were demonstrated.</P>

본 논문에서는 3차원 전계강도해석을 통해 절연암과 같은 폴리머재질의 지지물에서 발생하는 전계분포 확인을 통해 코로나링의 적정 적용위치에 대하여 검토하였다. 이를 통해 현장에 적용되는 절연암에 대한 전기적인 안전성을 고려한 최적 설계방안에 대하여 분석하였다.
