Vol.91 No.-

This paper is a translation of < Study of the Language Image of Dialects in Movies and TV Series > published in 2021 by Wang Lining and Pan Yingying. Based on linguistic data selected from 400 movies and TV series, this article attempts to examine types, varieties, and time distribution of dialectal movies and TV series over the last decade or so and analyzes the social variables of 620 dialect users in these movies and TV series. The findings reveal that Cantonese, Southwest Mandarin, Zhongyuan Mandarin, and Northeast Mandarin are more frequently used than others in movies and TV series. These dialects have become important language resources being utilized for literary expression of local characteristics. Since 2016, the number of dialectal movies and TV series has increased significantly, and their social images have been improved, and their economic benefits have been attractive; the socio-economic status of dialect users is embodied in social factors such as “middle-aged”, “male”, “manual worker”, “low literacy”, “rural township” and “comedy”; these factors function as contributors in constructing the current language image of dialects in movies and TV series. The article argues that the creation and dissemination of language image must conform with maintaining the major status of the ‘National Commonly Used Language and Characters’; at the same time, from the perspective of protecting and inheriting dialectal cultures, the language image of dialects in movies and TV series should be prevented from being stereotyped.

Computing turbulent far-wake development behind a wind turbine with and without swirl

        Yingying Hu,Siva Parameswaran,Jiannan Tan,Suranga Dharmarathne,Neha Marathe,Zixi Chen,Ronald Grife,Andrew Swift 한국풍공학회 2012 Wind and Structures, An International Journal (WAS Vol.15 No.1

Modeling swirling wakes is of considerable interest to wind farm designers. The present work is an attempt to develop a computational tool to understand free, far-wake development behind a single rotating wind turbine. Besides the standard momentum and continuity equations from the boundary layer theory in two dimensions, an additional equation for the conservation of angular momentum is introduced to study axisymmetric swirl effects on wake growth. Turbulence is simulated with two options: the standard k-ε model and the Reynolds Stress transport model. A finite volume method is used to discretize the governing equations for mean flow and turbulence quantities. A marching algorithm of expanding grids is employed to enclose the growing far-wake and to solve the equations implicitly at every axial step. Axisymmetric far-wakes with/without swirl are studied at different Reynolds numbers and swirl numbers. Wake characteristics such as wake width, half radius, velocity profiles and pressure profiles are computed. Compared with the results obtained under similar flow conditions using the computational software, FLUENT, this far-wake model shows simplicity with acceptable accuracy, covering large wake regions in far-wake study.

Grant-Free Random Access in Multicell Massive MIMO Systems with Mixed-Type Devices: Backoff Mechanism Optimizations under Delay Constraints

Yingying Fang,Qi Zhang 한국인터넷정보학회 2023 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.17 No.1

Grant-free random access (GFRA) can reduce the access delay and signaling cost, and satisfy the short transmission packet and strict delay constraints requirement in internet of things (IoT). IoT is a major trend in the future, which is characterized by the variety of applications and devices. However, most existing studies on GFRA only consider a single type of device and omit the effect of access delay. In this paper, we study GFRA in multicell massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems where different types of devices with various configurations and requirements co-exist. By introducing the backoff mechanism, each device is randomly activated according to the backoff parameter, and active devices randomly select an orthogonal pilot sequence from a predefined pilot pool. An analytical approximation of the average spectral efficiency for each type of device is derived. Based on it, we obtain the optimal backoff parameter for each type of devices under their delay constraints. It is found that the optimal backoff parameters are closely related to the device number and delay constraint. In general, devices that have larger quantity should have more backoff time before they are allowed to access. However, as the delay constraint become stricter, the required backoff time reduces gradually, and the device with larger quantity may have less backoff time than that with smaller quantity when its delay constraint is extremely strict. When the pilot length is short, the effect of delay constraints mentioned above works more obviously.

Numerical Parametric Analysis of the Ultimate Loading-Capacity of Channel Purlins with Screw-Fastened Sheeting

        Yingying Zhang,Jigang Xue,Xiaoguang Song,Qilin Zhang 한국강구조학회 2018 International Journal of Steel Structures Vol.18 No.5

This paper presents the numerical parametric analysis on the loading capacity of Channel purlins with screw-fastened sheeting, in which the eff ects of anti-sag bar and corrugated steel sheet on the ultimate capacity are studied. Results show that the setup of anti-sag bars can reduce the deformations and improve the ultimate capacity of C purlins. The traditional method of setting the anti-sag bars in the middle of the web is favorable. The changing of sheeting type, sheeting thickness and rib spacing has signifi cant eff ects on the ultimate capacity of C purlins without anti-sag bars, compared with those with anti-sag bars. The proposed design formulas are relatively consistent with the calculations of EN 1993-1-3:2006, which is diff erent from those of GB 50018-2002.

      • Average consensus in networks of agents with neutral dynamics

Yingying Wu,Yuangong Sun 제어로봇시스템학회 2013 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2013 No.10

This paper addresses the average consensus problem of multi-agent systems with neutral dynamics for the first time. By decoupling the neutral multi-agent system in terms of the eigenvalues of the Laplacian matrix, we establish necessary and sufficient conditions for average consensus of neutral multi-agent systems in undirected networks. For the particular case of constant delay, a least upper bound of the allowable time delay for consensus is given.

      • Transforming Shanghai into an International Financial Center: Mechanism and Benefits

( Yingying Hu ) 고려대학교 법학연구원 2017 The Asian Business Lawyer Vol.19 No.-

In addition to the Hong Kong international financial center, the establishment of Shanghai as an IFC is viewed as a clear sign of China`s ambition to play a more significant role in the international financial market, help Chinese enterprises raise domestic funds more easily by directing China`s surplus savings to GDP growth, and stimulate Chinese financial institutional reform.1 Whereas the benefits of financial development through the establishment of an IFC are significant, the cost associated with this financial development is also high. Chinese legislators and policy makers need to be aware of potential speculative financial transactions and the risk arising from market manipulation by financial institutions.2 Given the fact that Chinese financial institutions are mostly politically powerless, a government-led IFC project would effectively put external pressure on domestic financial reform. Nevertheless, the enormous benefits obtained from the Shanghai IFC will justify the costs, and driving the government to positively loosen its controls on the financial market. To minimize the potential cost incurred from the financial globalization, the Chinese government should identify essential sectors of the economy that need additional protection through tax, direct subsidy or other means when it seizes direct controls from the financial market.

Production of Cellulases by Rhizopus stolonifer from Glucose-Containing Media Based on the Regulation of Transcriptional Regulator CRE

( Yingying Zhang ),( Bin Tang ),( Guocheng Du ) 한국미생물 · 생명공학회 2017 Journal of microbiology and biotechnology Vol.27 No.3

Carbon catabolite repression is a crucial regulation mechanism in microorganisms, but its characteristic in Rhizopus is still unclear. We extracted a carbon regulation gene, cre, that encoded a carbon catabolite repressor protein (CRE) from Rhizopus stolonifer TP-02, and studied the regulation of CRE by real-time qPCR. CRE responded to glucose in a certain range, where it could significantly regulate part of the cellulase genes (eg, bg, and cbh2) without cbh1. In the comparison of the response of cre and four cellulase genes to carboxymethylcellulose sodium and a simple carbon source (lactose), the effect of CRE was only related to the concentration of reducing sugars. By regulating the reducing sugars to range from 0.4% to 0.6%, a glucose-containing medium with lactose as the inducer could effectively induce cellulases without the repression of CRE. This regulation method could potentially reduce the cost of enzymes produced in industries and provide a possible solution to achieve the largescale synthesis of cellulases.

        Yingying Yao,Chang Seop Koh,Shiyou Yang,Guangzheng Ni IEEE 2007 IEEE transactions on magnetics Vol.43 No.4

<P>A new surrogate objective function is suggested for the global optimization of electromagnetic devices. The surrogate objective function is constructed using a C1 piecewise response surface incorporated with the design sensitivities computed by using the finite-element method. The sampling data points used for constructing the response surface are adaptively inserted during the optimization process. After the surrogate objective function is constructed, the global optimum point is obtained by using a genetic algorithm. Applications to benchmark problems and the optimum design of a permanent magnet system show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm</P>

A Computationally Efficient Finite Element Analysis Algorithm Considering 2-D Magnetic Properties of Electrical Steel Sheet

        Yingying Yao,Wei Li,Hee Sung Yoon,Koji Fujiwara,Chang Seop Koh 대한전기학회 2008 Journal of Electrical Engineering & Technology Vol.3 No.3

For taking account of the two-dimensional magnetic properties of a grain-oriented electrical steel sheet, the effective anisotropic tensor reluctivity is examined, and a computationally efficient algorithm is suggested by using the response surface method to model the two-dimensional magnetic properties. It is shown that the reconstructed two-dimensional magnetic properties are fairly effective to stabilize the convergence characteristics of the Newton-Raphson iteration in the nonlinear magnetic field analysis.

An Unequal Protection FEC Scheme for Video over Optical Access Networks

( Yingying Cao ),( Xue Chen ),( Liqian Wang ),( Xicong Li ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2013 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.7 No.6

In this paper, we propose an unequal protection physical coding sub-layer (PCS) forward error correction (FEC) scheme for efficient and high-quality transmission of video data over optical access networks. Through identifying and resolving the unequal importance of different video frames and passing this importance information from MAC-layer to PCS, FEC scheme of PCS can be adaptive to application-layer data. Meanwhile, we jointly consider the different channel situations of optical network unit (ONU) and improve the efficiency of FEC redundancy by channel adaptation. We develop a theoretical algorithm and a hardware method to achieve efficient FEC assignment for the proposed unequal protection scheme. The theoretical FEC assignment algorithm is to obtain the optimal FEC redundancy allocation vector that results in the optimum performance index, namely frame error rate, based on the identified differential importance and channel situations. The hardware method aims at providing a realistic technical path with negligible hardware cost increment compared with the traditional FEC scheme. From the simulation results, the proposed Channel and Application-layer data Adaptation Unequal Protection (CAAUP) FEC scheme along with the FEC ratio assignment algorithm and the hardware method illustrates the ability of efficient and high-quality transmission of video data against the random errors in the channel of optical access networks.
