      • rs12904 Polymorphism in the 3'UTR of EFNA1 is Associated with Colorectal Cancer Susceptibility in a Chinese Population

        Accumulated evidence has indicated that Ephrin A1 (EFNA1) is associated with angiogenesis and tumorigenesis in various types of malignancies, including colorectal cancer (CRC). In the current study, we performed an online search using the public microarray database to investigate whether EFNA1 expression might be altered in CRC tissues. We then conducted a case-control study including 306 subjects (102 cases and 204 well-matched controls) in Xiaoshan County to assess any association between genetic polymorphisms in EFNA1 and CRC susceptibility. Searches in the Oncomine expression profiling database revealed EFNA1 to be overexpressed in CRC tissue compared with adjacent normal tissue. The rs12904 G-A variant located in the 3' untranslated region (UTR) of EFNA1 was observed to be associated with CRC susceptibility. Compared with the AA homozygous genotype, those carrying GA genotype had a decreased risk of developing CRC (odds ratio (OR)=0.469, 95% confidence interval (CI): 0.225-0.977, and P=0.043). The association was stronger among smokers and tea drinkers, however, no statistical evidence of interaction between rs12904 polymorphism and smoking or tea drinking on CRC risk was found. Our results suggest that EFNA1 is involved in colorectal tumorigenesis, and rs12904 A>G polymorphism in the 3' UTR of EFNA1 is associated with CRC susceptibility. Larger studies and further mechanistic investigations are warranted to confirm our findings.

        자기성찰기반 과학학습공동체에 참여한 중국유치원 교사의 경험

        본 연구는 자기성찰기반 과학학습공동체에 참여하는 과정에서 중국 유치원 교사들이 어떠한 경험을 하였는지를 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 중국 충칭시 Q유치원 중 과학학습공동체에 참여를 원하는 교사 2명과 연구자가 학습공동체를 형성하여 총 13주 동안 운영하였다. 이 과정에서 수집한 온라인 및 오프라인 면담 및 협의자료, 연구자 약기, 참여 교사의 성찰일지, 참여 교사의 과학 활동 영상을 중심으로 의미를 해석하였다. 그 결과 유치원 교사들은 “수업 분석의 걸림돌이 된 과한 자신감”, “협력적 과학 수업 개선을 위한 동행자 만나기”, “수직관계를 벗어난 자유로운 교류의 장 펼쳐가기”, “시간이 지날수록 부담되고 눈치 보이는 모임”, “보여짐에 의해 가려진 수업의 내면을 들여다보기”, “일회적인 반성을 벗어난 순환적 성찰 경험하기” 등의 경험을 하였다. 이 같은 연구결과를 통해 교사의 성장을 위해서는 지식을 기반으로 한 긍정적인 정서 형성이 필요하고 학습공동체 속에서 함께 성장하고 서로 촉진할 수 있는 구성원들의 역할이 중요하며 다각적으로 수업을 들여다보고 순환적인 성찰을 할 수 있도록 지원해줄 수 있는 체계가 필요함을 시사한다. In this research, the experience of Chinese kindergarten teachers in the science learning community which is based on self-reflection was analyzed. To implement this research, a science learning community was established in Q Kindergarten in China’s Chongqing Municipality; this community was composed of 2 teachers who aspired to participate in this community and researchers, and operated it for 13 weeks. In this process, online and offline interview and negotiation data, researchers’ notes, teachers’ reflection journals and science class videos of the participating teachers were collected for comprehensive analysis. the kindergarten teachers experienced the following. Overconfidence negatively affecting the analysis of the class; encountering partners to improve the cooperative science classes; unfolding free exchanges outside of vertical relationships; the community becomes a burden for teachers gradually and have to consider others’ feelings instead of joining in it freely; looking inside the classes covered by behavior and experience cyclic self-reflection process. Through this research, the following suggestions were made for teachers form positive emotions based on knowledge; that the role of companions who can grow together and promote each other in the learning community is important and that a support system is needed to look at observe and reflect upon the classes in various ways.

      • A Data Transmission Method for Resource Monitoring under Cloud Computing Environment

        Currently, the combined push-pull model is usually applied in the resource monitoring under cloud computing environment. However, the quantity of data gathered by the producers is much less than those received by the monitor so that a lot of resource is wasted. In order to maintain the data consistency of real time system, an improved adaptive algorithm based on combined push-pull model is proposed. The adaptive strategy is added on the producers that aims to predict when refreshes data came from the monitor using the history data. Experimental result shows that the algorithm can decrease the resource consumption while exchanging data effectively.

        <i>Yersinia pseudotuberculosis</i> Exploits CD209 Receptors for Promoting Host Dissemination and Infection

        <P><I>Yersinia pseudotuberculosis</I> is a Gram-negative enteropathogen and causes gastrointestinal infections. It disseminates from gut to mesenteric lymph nodes (MLNs), spleen, and liver of infected humans and animals.</P><P><I>Yersinia pseudotuberculosis</I> is a Gram-negative enteropathogen and causes gastrointestinal infections. It disseminates from gut to mesenteric lymph nodes (MLNs), spleen, and liver of infected humans and animals. Although the molecular mechanisms for dissemination and infection are unclear, many Gram-negative enteropathogens presumably invade the small intestine via Peyer’s patches to initiate dissemination. In this study, we demonstrate that <I>Y. pseudotuberculosis</I> utilizes its lipopolysaccharide (LPS) core to interact with CD209 receptors, leading to invasion of human dendritic cells (DCs) and murine macrophages. These <I>Y. pseudotuberculosis</I>-CD209 interactions result in bacterial dissemination to MLNs, spleens, and livers of both wild-type and Peyer’s patch-deficient mice. The blocking of the <I>Y. pseudotuberculosis</I>-CD209 interactions by expression of O-antigen and with oligosaccharides reduces infectivity. Based on the well-documented studies in which HIV-CD209 interaction leads to viral dissemination, we therefore propose an infection route for <I>Y. pseudotuberculosis</I> where this pathogen, after penetrating the intestinal mucosal membrane, hijacks the <I>Y. pseudotuberculosis</I>-CD209 interaction antigen-presenting cells to reach their target destinations, MLNs, spleens, and livers.</P>

        Rank-Dependent Expected Utility Game Analysis of Public-Private Partnership Project Operation Supervision Considering the Influence of Emotion

        Public-private partnership (PPP) projects have been widely adopted in infrastructure construction. Owing to the professional operation capabilities of private investors, PPP also serves as an efficient tool to optimize the operational efficiency of infrastructures while alleviating the government’s financial pressure on the infrastructure provisions. Since the returns-chasing nature of private investors and information asymmetry lead to speculation, therefore government’s operation supervision is critical for PPP projects. Meanwhile, the irrational and inevitable emotions of the government and investors exert a significant influence on their operation and supervision behaviors. Based on the influence of emotion on the decision-making behaviors of investors and government, an evolutionary game model of PPP operation supervision is developed from the perspective of rank-dependent expected utility (RDEU) theory. Further, the effect of emotional factors on the choice of investors and government strategies are analyzed in the context of Nash equilibrium solutions under different emotional states; thereby, putting forward different suggestions for restraining the speculation of private investors. The study results indicate that the positive supervision strategy of severe punishment plays an imperative role in restraining investors' speculation, whereas emotional factors exhibit a significant influence on the game equilibrium strategy related to the PPP project’s operation supervision. On the one hand, the probability of government authorities choosing an active supervision strategy becomes higher due to the increase in the emotion index; on the other hand, the probability of investors choosing active operation becomes higher due to the decrease in the emotion index. Thus, the government can reduce investors’ speculation through strict supervision and increasing the optimistic perception of investors.

        Key Application Technologies of High Efficiency Power Quality Control Systems

        Large capacity reactive power compensation and harmonic control in the low-voltage grid of an enterprise, are important technical means to improve power quality and reduce power loss. In this paper, the principle of an efficient power quality controller is analyzed. Then, key application technologies of the HPQC which would influence the performances of the HPQC are studied. Based on an analysis of the harmonic shunt problem, a frequency dividing control strategy of the HPQC continuous subsystem is proposed. A parameter design method of the HPQC discrete subsystem and its installation method are also proposed to ensure the system compensation effect. HPQC systems have been designed for a copper foil plant. The effectiveness of this paper has been verified by the simulation and application results.

        Impact of the Silicon-nitride Passivation Film Thickness on the Characteristics of InAlAs/InGaAs InP-based HEMTs

        In this research, the DC and RF characteristics for our own InAlAs/InGaAs InP-based highelectron-mobility transistors (HEMTs) with 0-nm, 50-nm, and 200-nm silicon-nitride (Si3N4) passivationfilms have been investigated comprehensively and systematically. With increasing Si3N4passivation film thickness, the device exhibits an apparent improvement in the output conductanceand a distinct drift of the pinch-off voltage toward a positive value. Especially, the device passivatedby using a 50-nm Si3N4 film demonstrates the highest extrinsic transconductance and channelcurrent. The appeared changes of the DC properties can be interpreted as due to the passivationinducedpositively-charged surface state increasing the sheet carrier density with the carrier mobilityand parasitic resistance of device being deteriorated by long-time high-stress-intensity ion bombardment. Additionally, the degradations of the current-gain cutoff frequency (fT ) and maximumoscillation frequency (fmax) can be attributed to the drastically-increased parasitic capacitance andresistance induced by the passivation process. This work will be of great importance in fabricatingInP HEMTs with high performances.
