Triple-Band Scheduling with Millimeter Wave and Terahertz Bands for Wireless Backhaul

        Yibing Wang,Hao Wu,Yong Niu,Jianwen Ding,Shiwen Mao,Bo Ai,Zhangdui Zhong,Ning Wang 한국통신학회 2022 Journal of communications and networks Vol.24 No.4

With the explosive growth of mobile traffic demand, densely deployed small cells underlying macrocells have great potential for 5G and beyond wireless networks. In this paper, we consider the problem of supporting traffic flows with diverse QoS requirements by exploiting three high frequency bands, i.e., the 28 GHz band, the E-band, and the Terahertz (THz) band. The cooperation of the three bands is helpful for maximizing the number of flows with their QoS requirements satisfied. To solve the formulated nonlinear integer programming problem, we propose a triple-band scheduling scheme which can select the optimum scheduling band for each flow among three different frequency bands. The proposed scheme also efficiently utilizes the resource to schedule flow transmissions in time slots. Ex- tensive simulations demonstrate the superior performance of the proposed scheme over three baseline schemes with respect to the number of completed flows and the system throughput.

Recommended levels of calcium and non-phytate phosphorus for yellow-feathered broilers (finisher phase)

        Wang Yibing,Wang Weiwei,Zhang Sheng,Jiang shouqun 아세아·태평양축산학회 2022 Animal Bioscience Vol.35 No.12

Objective: This study examined the effects of dietary calcium (Ca) and non-phytate phosphorus (NPP) on performance, tibial characteristics, meat quality and plasma biochemical variables in yellow-feathered broilers during 85 to 105 d of age. Methods: A total of 720 heads of 85-d broilers were allocated into 9 groups and provided with three levels of Ca (0.65%, 0.75%, 0.85%), and NPP (0.25%, 0.30%, 0.35%) in diets for 21 d. Results: The final body weight (FW), average daily gain (ADG), average daily feed intake (ADFI), and feed to gain ratio (F:G) were affected (p<0.05) by dietary Ca. From the quadratic regressions, the optimal level of Ca in diet were 0.71% for FW and ADG, and 0.67% for ADFI. Dietary Ca and NPP both significantly affected tibial breaking strength and density. From the quadratic regressions, the optimal level of Ca and NPP in diet were 0.81% and 0.37% for tibial density. The shear force of breast muscle of broilers given 0.75% or 0.85% Ca were lower than that in birds with 0.65% Ca and drip loss of birds given 0.65% or 0.75% Ca was lower than that in birds with 0.85% Ca (p<0.05). The drip loss of birds given 0.25% NPP was lowest among all NPP treatments (p<0.05). Calcium affected (p<0.05) the plasmal contents of phosphorus, osteocalcin (OC), parathyroid hormone (PTH) and calcitonin and the contents of OC and PTH were also influenced by dietary NPP. Conclusion: Dietary Ca and NPP level affected tibial characteristics, meat quality and biochemical variables in plasma of finisher-phase yellow-feathered broilers (85 to 105 d) and Ca also affected growth performance. Dietary 0.71% Ca and 0.30% NPP were enough for growth performance, while considering the growth performance, tibial characteristics, meat quality and biochemical variables together, 0.75% Ca and 0.37% NPP were recommended. Development and characterization of simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers based on a full-length c

        Jia Wang,Yibing Huang,Zhitong Chen,Surong Jin,Zhongli Hu,Ying Diao 한국유전학회 2017 Genes & Genomics Vol.39 No.12

Napier grass (Pennisetum purpureum Schum.) is an economically important species used as a fodder crop, reflecting its high biomass, perennial nature and pest resistance. In order to understand the genomic information and development of this species based on SSR markers, the transcriptome for Napier grass was obtained using nextgeneration sequencing. A total of 117,076 sequence contigs were obtained, with lengths of 201–10,652 bp. Among these contigs, 44,313 (37.85%) sequences were annotated against public protein databases (E-value <10−5). In addition, the contigs generated from the transcript sequencing were also analysed for the presence of simple sequence repeats (SSRs). A total of 12,744 SSR motifs were identified with in these contigs and corresponding primer pairs were designed. Empirical validation of a cohort of 200 SSRs was performed, with 34% being polymorphic for 20 Napier grass accessions. The polymorphic index content values for each primer ranged from 0.105 to 0.749, with an average of 0.409. The development of genetic, genomic resources and EST-SSRs for Napier grass will contribute to novel gene discovery and the marker-assisted selective breeding of this species.

      • Design and Simulation of Dynamic TDMA Protocol Based on Tactical Internet

        Shibai Yin,Yibing Wang,Weixing Wang 한국산학기술학회 2011 SmartCR Vol.1 No.1

Current TDMA (time division multiple access) protocols based on the dynamic time slot allocation scheme involve some information delays because the source nodes can not send messages in time. These delays are caused by booking the time slots of the next frame in the current transmission. A feasible approach to reduce the delays is to allocate time slots in time. This paper presents a new TDMA protocol that can assign time slots according to the request of traffic load at the beginning of the frame by exchanging the control information. We demonstrate the improvements achieved by our scheme via building the hierarchical Tactical Internet models that employ the new TDMA protocol and via discussing energy consumption, throughput and End-to-End delay. Comparing our scheme with those of related works shows that our protocol achieves good network performance and feasibility in the tactical Internet environment. In addition, the detailed design of the proposed protocol and the specific realization of the whole work by using OPNET Modeler Software are also displayed for the freshman as a tutorial.

Pneumococcal wall teichoic acid is required for the pathogenesis of Streptococcus pneumoniae in murine models

        Hongmei Xu,Libin Wang,Jian Huang,YanQing Zhang,Feng Ma,Jianmin Wang,WenChun Xu,XueMei Zhang,YiBing Yin,KaiFeng Wu 한국미생물학회 2015 The journal of microbiology Vol.53 No.2

Pneumococcal asymptomatic colonization of the respiratory tracts is a major risk for invasive pneumococcal disease. We have previously shown that pneumococcal wall teichoic acid (WTA) was involved in pneumococcal infection of sepsis and adherence to epithelial and endothelial cells. In this study, we investigated the contribution of pneumococcal WTA to bacterial colonization and dissemination in murine models. The result showed that nasopharynx colonizing D39 bacterial cells have a distinct phenotype showing an increased exposure of teichoic acids relative to medium-grown bacteria. The WTA-deficient mutants were impaired in their colonization to the nasopharynx and lungs, and led to a mild inflammation in the lungs at 36 h post-inoculation. Pretreatment of the murine nares with WTA reduced the ability of wild type D39 bacteria to colonize the nasopharynx. In addition, the WTA-deficient strain was impaired in its ability to invade the blood and brain following intranasal administration. WTA-deficient D39 strain was reduced in C3 deposition but was more susceptible to the killing by the neutrophils as compared with its parent strain. Our results also demonstrated that the WTA enhanced pneumococcal colonization and dissemination independently of the host strains. These results indicate that WTA plays an important role in pneumococcal pathogenesis, both in colonization and dissemination processes.

      • Usability Evaluation Method of ECDIS Human-computer Interface Based on Emotional Experience

        Yongzhi Hao,Pengjun Zheng,Yibing Wang,Tianming Yan,Zhihao Han 국제이네비해양경제학회 2019 International Journal of e-Navigation and Maritime Vol.13 No.1

At present, ECDIS has been widely used in ship positioning, collision avoidance and navigation, and has developed into an important part of integrated navigation and automation system. However, most ECDIS software focuses too much on system function and technical level when realizing powerful navigation AIDS, neglecting the problems that the crew are most concerned about, such as realizing the human-computer interface operation quickly and simply as well as obtaining the information of human-computer interaction effectively and accurately. In order to improve the design of Electronic Chart Display and Information system(ECDIS)human-computer interface and its usability effectively, a new method for evaluating ECDIS human-computer interface is proposed. Starting from the concept and connotation of usability, five-factor personality model is used to measure the users’ personality type in reference to the essence of usability (user’s emotional experience) and calculate the basic emotional variant of users. Then, according to the users’ emotional stimulation after finishing the given ECDIS task and combining with the system Usability scale (SUS), a tool dedicated to usability testing and five dimensions of usability evaluation proposed by Jakob Nielsen, father of usability, the emotion relationship model of usability and users is established by using partial least square method ( PLS ), and the validity of the model is verified with an aim to locate the key indicators that affect the usability of the ECDIS human-computer interface, It will be more helpful to improve the usability of ECDIS human-computer interface.

Serotype-Independent Protection against Pneumococcal Infections Elicited by Intranasal Immunization with Ethanol-Killed Pneumococcal Strain, SPY1

        XiuYu Xu,Qun Zhang,Jiangping Meng,Yiping Wang,Jie Zheng,Kaifeng Wu,Xuemei Zhang,Yibing Yin 한국미생물학회 2014 The journal of microbiology Vol.52 No.4

The 23-valent polysaccharide vaccine and the 7-valent pneumococcalconjugate vaccine are licensed vaccines that protectagainst pneumococcal infections worldwide. However, the incidence of pneumococcal diseases remains high in lowincomecountries. Whole-cell vaccines with high safety andstrong immunogenicity may be a favorable choice. We previouslyobtained a capsule-deficient Streptococcus pneumoniaemutant named SPY1 derived from strain D39. As anattenuated live pneumococcal vaccine, intranasal immunizationwith SPY1 elicits broad serotype-independent protectionagainst pneumococcal infection. In this study, forsafety consideration, we inactivated SPY1 with 70% ethanoland intranasally immunized BALB/c mice with killed SPY1plus cholera toxin adjuvant for four times. Results showedthat intranasal immunization with inactivated SPY1 inducedstrong humoral and cellular immune responses. Intranasalimmunization with inactivated SPY1 plus cholera toxin adjuvantelicited effective serotype-independent protection againstthe colonization of pneumococcal strains 19F and 4 as well aslethal infection of pneumococcal serotypes 2, 3, 14, and 6B. The protection rates provided by inactivated SPY1 againstlethal pneumococcal infection were comparable to those ofcurrently used polysaccharide vaccines. In addition, vaccinespecificB-cell and T-cell immune responses mediated theprotection elicited by SPY1. In conclusion, the 70% ethanolinactivatedpneumococcal whole-cell vaccine SPY1 is a potentiallysafe and less complex vaccine strategy that offersbroad protection against S. pneumoniae.
