Mo¨ssbauer 분광법에 의한 Ni_(0.8)Zn_(0.2)Fe₂O₄Ferrite에 대한 연구

페라이트계 전파흡수체로 사용되이지고 있는 Ni_(0.8)Zn_(0.2)Fe₂O₄를 택하여 800~1100℃각 2시간씩 소결하여 자료를 합성하여 조사하였다. 고온에서 소결할수록 모분발의 XRD peak는 감소하여 spinel ferrite peak이 우세하였으며, 입자의 크기는 증가하였다. 또한 보자력은 감소한 반면 magnetization saturation은 증가하였다. 따라서 본 실험에서는 fernte 제주의 합성온도 1100℃에서 양실의 시료를 합성화하였고 보문말의 ferrite합성이 1100℃에서 가장 활발하였다.

Purpose : The purpose of this study was to investigate factors influencing burden in primary caregivers caring for an elderly person who has had a stroke. Method : A convenience sample of 124 primary caregivers of elderly people with a stroke admitted to an oriental medicine hospital participated in this study. Interviews were done with a standardized questionnaire including Caregiver Burden Scale (Chang, 1995). Result: Average burden score was 93.19, indicating a moderate to severe level of burden. Time-dependent burden had the highest score of the sub-domains. For general characteristics, the factors significantly influencing caregiver burden were gender and age of the elderly person, age and educational level of the caregiver, whether living together or not, and the presence of another caregiver. Multiple regression analyses demonstrated that level of ADL of the elderly person, relationship between the elderly person and the caregiver prior to the stroke, caregivers' relation to the elderly person and primary income were significant factors in explaining variance in overall burden. Conclusion : Recognition of high levels of caregiver burden and factors influencing burden will allow us to develop different nursing strategies to decrease caregiver burden in those caring for an elderly person with a stroke.

Objectives : The authors recently found a suggestive evidence of linkage of chromosome 8p21-12 to schizophrenia in Korean multiplex families. Neuregutin 1 (NRGI) was identified in this locus as a positional and functional candidate gene for Schizo-phrenia, through several independent studies with European and Chinese populations. The purpose of this study is to determine whether NRGl is associated with schizophrenia in Korean population. Methods : Three SNPs (SNP8NRG221533, SNP8NRG241930, SNP8NRG243177) and two microsatellites markers (478B14-848,420M9-1395) located at the 5' end of NRGI were genotyped for 242 unrelated schizophrenia patients and the same num-ber of normal controls. Genetic association was tested by χ²-test (df=1). Not only for the whole patients group but also for asubgroup of patients with auditory hallucination. This subtype showed stronger linkage with chromosome 8p12 in the prior study of the authors with multiplex families. Results : G allele of SNP8NRG241930 was significantly in excess in the subgroup of patients with auditory hallucination compared to the control group (p=0.03, 0R=1.76). We also found that 3 SNPs haplotype TTC (p=0.04, 0R=0.58) and five markers haplotype TTC53 (p=0.01,0R=0.49) were associated with schziophrenia with a protective effect. Three SNPs haplotype CGT which is a part of the at-risk haplotype of the Icelandic schizophrenia families was found in excess in the patients group but no significant association was observed. Conclusion : NRGI might either play a mle in the predisposition to schizophrenia or be in linkage disequilibrium with a causal locus of this illness.
꿀벌부채명나방 유충으로부터 Xanthomonas maltophilia의 분리 및 동정

A symbiotic bacteria associated with Galleria mellonella larva was isolated and identified as Xanthomonas maltophilia sp. by using the BioLog Automated Microbial Identification System. Also three other strains of bacteria were isolated from Galleria mellonella larvae and identified as CDC group DF-3, Enterobacter agglomerans biogroup 5, and Serratia marcescens sp., respectively. Several biochemical and physiological tests were performed to determine the strain characters. X. maltophilia did not adsorb neutral red of bromothymol blue and grew below 37℃. Xanthomonas maltophilia and three other strains were pathogenic against the insect host when they were injected into hemolymph of the insect. X. maltophilia was rod-shaped and its cell size was ranged from 1㎛ to 2㎛.
β-lactamase를 생성하는 Xanthomonas maltophilia의 배지조정과 배양조건의 최적화

Xanthomonas maltophilia, which can produce β-lactamase, were isolated from Galleria mellonella larvae. Medium composition for bacteria growth was optimized. As a result, the best nitrogen source was found to be yeast extract. The medium composition consisted of 5% yeast extract, 0.5% NaCl, and 0.5% KH₂PO₄. The optimum temperature for cell growth was 28℃. The culture pH approached to about 9.0 during the cell growth period regardless of initial pH ranging from 6 to 10. Meanwhile, the carbon sources such as glucose or fructose showed as decreasing trend of pH and thus inhibited the further cell growth. The specific growth rate of X. maltophilia in a 5L-fermentor was 2.6 times greater than that in a flask culture, presumably due to enhanced aeration and agitation conditions.

Tracheal hemangioma is a rare benign vascular tumor in adults. We reported a case of massive hemoptysis caused by a cavernous hemangioma in a 75-year-old man. This is the first report, to our knowledge, of a tracheal cavernous hemangioma that presented with massive hemoptysis. The lesion was removed with a CO2 laser under rigid laryngoscopy. Endovascular tumors, such as tracheobronchial hemangiomas, should be considered a diagnostic option in cases of massive hemoptysis without a significant underlying lung lesion.

In order to industrialization of the entomopathogenic nematode (EPN) isolated in Korea, it is necessary to switch to infective juveniles. Since the conversion to infective juveniles in the end of solid culture is important against the outside environment, it has a great influence on insecticidal efficacy and shelf life. We investigated whether the concentration of CO2 and NH3 at the end of the solid culture was artificially increased to affect the infective juvenile induction rate. Optimal exposure time for conversion to infective juveniles was 5 minutes for CO2 and 3 minutes for NH3. Optimal treatment time was 9 days after EPN inoculation for both CO2 and NH3. And optimum concentration was 80~90% for both CO2 and NH3 for EPN infective juveniles stage conversion.
Optimization of entomopathogenic nematode(EPN) solid culture medium and production conditions

In order to develop solid mass cultivation technology that maximizes insecticide of entomopathogenic nematode(EPN) isolated from Korea, we have studied the optimization of solid culture medium and production conditions. The optimized conditions from the harvest yields and the insecticidal activity against the Galleria mellonella larvae were yeast extract 2.0%, soybean flour 20%, whole milk powder 3%, olive oil 5% and egg yolk 5%. It was also found that the optimum condition of the carrier(polyurethane) content was about 8-12%, the culture time of symbiotic bacteria was about 48 hours, and the inoculation concentration of nematode was 4,000-5,000 per g medium. And the optimal harvesting point in solid culture conditions was confirmed after 12 days of inoculation.

Cardiac allograft vasculopathy is one of the most important causes of poor long-term survival after heart transplantation. The condition tends to be diffuse, usually affecting the mid-to-distal portions of the coronary artery. Reperfusion therapy is ineffective. Everolimus, an inhibitor of proliferation signaling, has been reported to prevent development of the condition; however, the efficacy thereof has not yet been fully accepted. The only definitive treatment for cardiac allograft vasculopathy is retransplantation. Herein, we describe the case of a 15-year-old boy who underwent heart retransplantation because of rapidly progressive cardiac allograft vasculopathy. (Korean J Med 2016;91:287-291)
