This study was performed to investigate the effect of Bunsimgieum on antitumor effect after sarcoma-180 cells transplantation into peritoneal cavity or left groin and immune responses on the depressed immunity induced by methotrexate in mice. The Bunsimgieum extract of 10㎎/㎏ was orally administered 14 days for antitumor effects and 21 days for immune responses. 50% inhibitory concentration(IC_(50)) of SUN-1, SUN-C4. and SUN-396 cancer cell, mean sunvival days and body weight of tumor bearing mice, and growth of tumor mass for antitumor effect; delayed type hypersentivity, hemagglutinin titer, hemolysis titer, rosette forming cells, natured killer cell activity, lymphocyte transformation. productivity of interleukin-2 and phagocytic activity for their immune responses were measured in ICR mice. Significance in antitumor effect is noted in the enlongation of mean life days and inhibition of tumor growth(p<0.01 respectively). Significance of immune responses is also noted in hemolysis titer, lymphocyte transfumotion IL-2 productivity, phagocytic activity, and natural killer cell activity at E/T ratio 100 : 1(p<0.01, respectively). Significant in rosette cell formation was seen dosage of 20㎎/㎏(p<0.01) However, Difference of body weight as antitumor effect, delayed type hypersensitivity, and hemagglutinin titer were not shown significantly. According to the above results, it could be suggested that Bunsimgieum has prominent antitumor and immunity enhancing effect.

Eagle's syndrome is the term given to symtomatic elogation of the styloid process or mineralization of the stylohyoid or stylomandibular ligament. Since ossification of stylohyoid ligament at cadeva was fist described by De Manchetics in 1652 and Weinlecher described clinical symptom which produced by elongated styloid process and osteotomy of styloid process in 1872, Clinical symptom which include sensation of a foreign body on the pharynx, dysphagai, dysphonia, referred pain, and mouth opening disturbance was termed by Eagle as Eagle's syndrome. then, case reports of Eagle's syndrome are presented. in these cases, the patient's chief complaints included periauricular radiating pain, mouth opening disturbance, foreign body sensation, dysphagia, tenderness on the neck. Through vairous X-ray examination and palpation of tonsillar fossa, elongted styloid process were confirmed. Under the general anesthesia there were successfully removed out via transoral approach technique, described by Eagle. after resented styloid process, they were freed from the symptoms without further complication. Therefor we reported these cases treated by surgical resection of styloid process with good results.
Adaptive Prediction Block Filter for Video Coding
Yeo-Jin Yoon,정승원,Hahyun Lee,Hui Yong Kim,Jin Soo Choi,고성제 한국전자통신연구원 2012 ETRI Journal Vol.34 No.1
In this letter, we propose a new prediction block filter that can reduce errors between the original and prediction blocks. The proposed filter adaptively adjusts filter coefficients by using the previously reconstructed adjacent blocks and their prediction blocks. Then, the filter is selectively applied to the current prediction block according to the rate-distortion optimization. Moreover, since the same filter coefficients can be derived in the decoder, they are not encoded into the bit-stream. The proposed method achieves a 4.65% bitrate saving on average compared with H.264/AVC.

This study was aimed to investigate the changes of orexin-A (OXA) and neuropeptide Y (NPY) expression in the hypothalamus of the fasted and high-fat diet fed rats. For the experiments, the male Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were used as the model of high-fat diet-induced obesity. The mean loss of body weight (MLBW) did not show the linear pattern during the fasting; from 24 h to 84 h of fastings, the MLBW was not significantly changed. The numbers of OXA-immunoreactive (IR) neurons were decreased at 84 h of fasting compared with those in other five fasting subgroups. The NPY immunoreactivities in the arcuate nucleus (ARC) and the suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCN) observed at 84 h of fasting were higher than that observed at 24 h of fasting. The number of OXA-IR neurons of the LHA (lateral hypothalamic area) in the high-fat (HF) diet fed group was more increased than that of the same area in the normal-fat (NF) diet fed group. The NPY immunoreactivities of the ARC and the SCN were higher in HF group than those observed in the same areas of NF group. Based on these results, it is noteworthy that the decrease of the body weight during the fast was not proportionate to the time-course, implicating a possible adaptation of the body for survival against starvation. The HF diet might activate the OXA and the NPY in the LHA to enhance food intake. Synthesis of the Knowledge Model for Fault Diagnosis Using Qualitative Simulation
Yoon, Yeo Hong,Yoon, En Sup,Choe, Yong Jin,Jeong, Chang Wook 한국화학공학회 1993 NICE Vol.11 No.3
Fault diagnosis requires the knowledge models which describe the behavior of the chemical processes. However it is cumbersome and time consuming work to generate these models. Also the knowledge acquisition required for generation is difficult. The objective of this study is to examine whether the knowledge aquisition for fault diagnosis knowledge models, especially bottom-up models, is possible through quatlitative simulation. Qualitative simulation is based on the study of modeling, representation of feedback control and state transition using the QSIM algorithm. Also in this study, qualitative simulation is applied to a buffer tank level control system using the simulatom strategy of this paper. The results of the simulation show several behaviors of the processes and the usability for the generation of a knowledge model. However when several different results of simulation are generated, some are spurious solutions which result from insufficient information.
Largest Coding Unit Level Rate Control Algorithm for Hierarchical Video Coding in HEVC
Yoon, Yeo-Jin,Kim, Hoon,Baek, Seung-Jin,Ko, Sung-Jea The Institute of Electronics and Information Engin 2012 IEIE Transactions on Smart Processing & Computing Vol.1 No.3
In the new video coding standard, called high efficiency video coding (HEVC), the coding unit (CU) is adopted as a basic unit of a coded block structure. Therefore, the rate control (RC) methods of H.264/AVC, whose basic unit is a macroblock, cannot be applied directly to HEVC. This paper proposes the largest CU (LCU) level RC method for hierarchical video coding in a HEVC. In the proposed method, the effective bit allocation is performed first based on the hierarchical structure, and the quantization parameters (QP) are then determined using the Cauchy density based rate-quantization (RQ) model. A novel method based on the linear rate model is introduced to estimate the parameters of the Cauchy density based RQ model precisely. The experimental results show that the proposed RC method not only controls the bitrate accurately, but also generates a constant number of bits per second with less degradation of the decoded picture quality than with the fixed QP coding and latest RC method for HEVC.
Saliency-Guided Stereo Camera Control for Comfortable VR Explorations
YOON, Yeo-Jin,NO, Jaechun,CHOI, Soo-Mi 'Institute of Electronics, Information and Communi 2017 IEICE transactions on information and systems Vol.100e.d No.9
<P>The quality of visual comfort and depth perception is a crucial requirement for virtual reality (VR) applications. This paper investigates major causes of visual discomfort and proposes a novel virtual camera controlling method using visual saliency to minimize visual discomfort. We extract the saliency of each scene and properly adjust the convergence plane to preserve realistic 3D effects. We also evaluate the effectiveness of our method on free-form architecture models. The results indicate that the proposed saliency-guided camera control is more comfortable than typical camera control and gives more realistic depth perception.</P>
