        현상호,민경동,예영철,강아름,이은찬,문상관,조기호,정우상,박성욱,고창남,Hyun, Sang-Ho,Min, Kyung-Dong,Yei, Young-Chul,Kang, Ah-Reum,Lee, Eun-Chan,Moon, Sang-Kwan,Cho, Ki-Ho,Jung, Woo-Sang,Park, Sung-Wook,Ko, Chang-Nam 대한한방내과학회 2013 大韓韓方內科學會誌 Vol.34 No.4

Objectives : The aim of this study was to examine if there is a significant correlation between the changes of Fire- and Heat- related symptoms and motor function recovery in acute cerebral infarction patients. Methods : We studied inpatients within a month after the onset of cerebral infarction who were admitted at Kyunghee University Medical Center from May 2011 to January 2013. We executed correlation analysis between Fire-heat pattern score and motricity index score at visit 1 and visit 2, and checked if there was a significant correlation between the changes of Fire-heat pattern score and changes of motricity index score. Also, we compared the changes of both scores in patients taking Fire-heat and non Fire-heat pattern prescriptions. Results : There was a significant correlation between the Fire-heat pattern score and Motricity index score at visit 1 and visit 2, and changes of Fire-heat pattern score showed significant correlation with changes of motricity index score. Patients taking Fire-heat pattern prescriptions showed significant change in Fire-heat pattern score after herb-medication treatment while patients taking non-Fire-heat prescriptions showed insignificant change in Fire-heat pattern score. Conclusions : This study provides evidence that taking a Fire-heat pattern prescription could be considered as a first line herb-medication treatment in acute cerebral infarction patients.

Vol.29 No.2

Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate biomechanical comparisons of kettlebell two-arm swings after different somatosensory interventions on joint ranges of motion (ROM) and muscle activations. Method: Fourteen kettelbell novices (age: 22.92±3.23 yrs, mass: 75.75±9.94 kg, height: 172.03± 5.49 cm), consisting of male college students, participated in this study and performed two-arm kettlebell swings in different conditions. Three different somatosensory interventions were the applications of heavy mass kettlebell (20 kg), taping on gluteus muscles, and unstable mat condition. All subjects performed pre-intervention swings and post-intervention swings, respectively. Statistical analysis were performed on results of joint kinematics and electromyographies of major muscles. Results: Results showed significant increases in ROM of hip and decreases in ROM of shoulder after unstable mat trials. In addition, the application of unstable mat during kettlebell swings induced higher muscle activations in gluteus maximus muscle during only upward phase of two-arm kettlebell swings. Conclusion: For beginner, the application of unstable surface would increase in hip joint ranges of motion with enhancement of gluteus muscles.

Comparison of the biodegradability in the membranes for the guided bone regeneration: preliminary study

        ( Chang-hyeon Lee ),( Yei-jin Kang ),( You-young Jo ),( Haeyong Kweon ),( Seong-gon Kim ) 한국잠사학회 2019 International Journal of Industrial Entomology Vol.39 No.1

In this study, 4 different types of GBR membrane were undergone for bio-degradability test; Silk mat from silkworm cocoon (TDI), silk mat from flatwise-spun (FS), collagen membrane (OssGuide), and dPTFE membrane (Cytoplast). Each material was segmented in 10.00 mm length and 0.3 mm thickness. The samples were put into the normal saline at 37 ℃ for 2 weeks. After that, yield strength and tensile strain were measured and compared them with those of before treatment. The morphology of the membranes was observed by SEM. Tensile strain of FS was significantly increased at 2 weeks’ normal saline treatment (P=0.018). When compared to OssGuide, TDI and FS showed significantly higher tensile strain at 2 weeks’ normal saline treatment (P<0.05). In the SEM images, there were no significant changes in Cytoplast, TDI, and FS after 2 weeks’ treatment. However, OssGuide showed damaged surface after 2 weeks’ treatment. In conclusion, both TDI and FS did not have any evidence of biodegradability at 2 weeks’ observation in normal saline treatment. However, OssGuide showed more than 20 % decrease in yield strength and tensile strain. © 2019 The Korean Society of Sericultural Sciences Int. J. Indust. Entomol. 39(1), 9-13 (2019)

ORIGINAL : Kinematic Comparisons of Kettlebell Two-Arm Swings by Skill Level

( Chang Yei Back ),( Ji Yong Joo ),( Young Kwan Kim ) 한국운동역학회 2016 한국운동역학회지 Vol.26 No.1

Objective: The purposes of this study were to compare the kinematics of a two-arm kettlebell swing between experts and beginners and to identify the correct postures and biomechanical key points in an attempt to prevent sports injuries induced by a kettlebell swing. Methods: Four experts (height, 169.7 ± 1.5 cm; weight, 70.5 ± 1.8 kg; age, 32.0 ± 1.0 years) licensed to teach kettlebell exercises and three beginners (height, 173.7 ± 4.1 cm; weight, 78.3 ± 3.8 kg; age, 30.0 ± 1.4 years) with no kettlebell exercise experience participated in this study. Each participant performed 15 repetitions of a two-arm kettlebell swing using a 16-kg weight. Joint angles, angular velocities, and peak angular velocity sequences were calculated and compared between the two groups. Results: Large ranges of motion (ROM) of the pelvic angle and hip joints were detected in the experts, while beginners showed greater ROM of the shoulder joint. Peak angular velocity magnitudes and sequences were significantly different between the two groups. Experts lifted the kettlebell upward using the hip joints, pelvis, and shoulder joints (proximal to distal order) sequentially and lowered it using the reverse order of peak angular velocities from the shoulder to hip joints. Conclusion: Mobility of the pelvic segment and hip joint are required, while stability of the other joints is needed to produce appropriate two-arm kettlebell swings. The activation and coordination of the gluteal and hamstring muscles are key points in kettlebell exercises.
