Hybrid radio frequency/free space optical (RF/FSO) wireless mesh networks have attracted increasingattention for they can overcome the limitations of RF and FSO communications and significantly increasethe throughput of wireless mesh networks (WMNs). In this article, a resource assignment optimizationscheme is proposed for hybrid RF/FSO wireless mesh networks. The optimization framework is proposedfor the objective of maximizing throughput of overall hybrid networks through joint transmission slotassignment, FSO links allocation and power control with the consideration of the fading nature of RF andFSO links. The scheme is formulated as an instance of mixed integer linear program (MILP) and the optimalsolutions are provided using CPLEX and Gurobi optimizers. How to choose the appropriate optimizer isdiscussed by comparing their performance. Numerous simulations are done to demonstrate that theperformance of our optimization scheme is much better than the current case of having the same topology.

Hydropneumatic transformer (short for HP transformer) is used to pump pressurized hydraulic oil. Whereas, due to its insufficient usage of energy and low efficiency, a new kind of HP transformer: EEUHP transformer (Expansion energy used hydropneumatic transformer) was proposed. To illustrate the characteristics of the EEUHP transformer, a mathematical model was built. To verify the mathematical model, an experimental prototype was setup and studied. Through simulation and experimental study on the EEUHP transformer, the influence of five key parameters on the output flow of the EEUHP transformer were obtained, and some conclusions can be drawn. Firstly, the mathematical model was proved to be valid. Furthermore, the EEUHP transformer costs fewer of compressed air than the normal HP transformer when the output flow of the two kinds of transformers are almost same. Moreover, with an increase in the output pressure, the output flow decreases sharply. Finally, with an increase in the effective area of hydraulic output port, the output flow increases distinctly. This research can be referred to in the performance and design optimization of the EEUHP transformers.

Purpose: In this study, we focuses on the relationship between antecedents factors (perceived hedonic value and perceived functional value) and consequences of perceived brand globalness(PBG)/perceived brand localness (PBL) in China. Research design, data, and methodology: This study theoretically analyzed relationship between functional/hedonic value and PBG/PBL and relationship between PBG/PBL and purchase intention. 695 sample data is collected in China to empirical test. For measurement model test, confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and correlation analysis were conducted and to test hypotheses, OLS analysis is conducted using Process macro proposed by Preacher and Hayes (2008). Results: This study show that both functional value and hedonic value have positive effect on PBG/PBL. However, hedonic value affect PBG more strongly than functional value while functional value affect PBL more strongly than hedonic value. And PBG have more strong effects on purchase intention than PBL. Conclusions: The result show that hedonic value is more important to establish PBG and functional value is more important to establish PBL. Therefore managers need to reinforce functional or hedonic attributes of their brand in line with their positioning strategy. Global franchise brands are able to convince consumers more strongly of their global positioning through reinforcing attributes related to hedonic value, while local brands are able to convince consumers of their local positioning through reinforcing attributes related to functional value.

Contribution of the vestibular end organ to regulation of arterial pressure was quantitatively compared with the role of baroreceptors in terms of baroreflex sensitivity and c-Fos protein expression in the rostral ventrolateral medulla (RVLM). Baroreflex sensitivity and c-Fos protein expression in the RVLM were measured in conscious rats that had undergone bilateral labyrinthectomy (BL) and/or baroreceptor unloading. BL attenuated baroreflex sensitivity during intravenous infusion of sodium nitroprusside (SNP), but did not significantly affect the sensitivity following infusion of phenylephrine (PE). Baroreflex sensitivity became positive following sinoaortic denervation (SAD) during infusion of PE and attenuated sensitivity during infusion of SNP. Baroreflex sensitivity also became positive following double ablation (BL+SAD) during infusion of PE, and attenuated sensitivity during infusion of SNP. c-Fos protein expression increased significantly in the RVLM in the sham group after SNP administration. However, the BL, SAD, and SAD+BL groups showed significant decreases in c-Fos protein expression compared with that in the sham group. The SAD group showed more reduced c-Fos protein expression than that in the BL group, and the SAD+BL group showed less expression than that in the SAD group. These results suggest that the vestibular system cooperates with baroreceptors to maintain arterial pressure during hypotension but that baroreceptors regulate arterial pressure during both hypotension and hypertension. Additionally, afferent signals for maintaining blood pressure from the vestibular end organs and the baroreceptors may be integrated in the RVLM.

Dynamics of mechanical ventilation system can be referred in pulmonary diagnostics and treatments. In this paper, to convenientlygrasp the essential characteristics of mechanical ventilation system, a dimensionless model of mechanical ventilation system is presented. For the validation of the mathematical model, a prototype mechanical ventilation system of a lung simulator is proposed. Through thesimulation and experimental studies on the dimensionless dynamics of the mechanical ventilation system, firstly, the mathematical modelis proved to be authentic and reliable. Secondly, the dimensionless dynamics of the mechanical ventilation system are obtained. Last, theinfluences of key parameters on the dimensionless dynamics of the mechanical ventilation system are illustrated. The study provides anovel method to study the dynamic of mechanical ventilation system, which can be referred in the respiratory diagnostics and treatment.

<P>In cold pulse experiments in J-TEXT, not only are rapid electron temperature increases in the core observed, but also steep rises in the inner density are found. Moreover, some evidence of acceleration of the core toroidal rotation is also observed during the non-local transport process of electron temperature. These new findings of cold pulse experiments in J-TEXT suggest that turbulence spreading is a possible mechanism for the non-local transport dynamics.</P>

Input signals originating from baroreceptors and vestibular receptors are integrated in the rostralventrolateral medulla (RVLM) to maintain blood pressure during postural movement. The contributionof baroreceptors and vestibular receptors in the maintenance of blood pressure following hypotensionwere quantitatively analyzed by measuring phosphorylated extracellular regulated protein kinase(pERK) expression and glutamate release in the RVLM. The expression of pERK and glutamate releasein the RVLM were measured in conscious rats that had undergone bilateral labyrinthectomy (BL)and/or sinoaortic denervation (SAD) following hypotension induced by a sodium nitroprusside (SNP)infusion. The expression of pERK was significantly increased in the RVLM in the control groupfollowing SNP infusion, and expression peaked 10 min after SNP infusion. The number of pERKpositive neurons increased following SNP infusion in BL, SAD, and BL+SAD groups, although theincrease was smaller than seen in the control group. The SAD group showed a relatively higherreduction in pERK expression when compared with the BL group. The level of glutamate release wassignificantly increased in the RVLM in control, BL, SAD groups following SNP infusion, and thispeaked 10 min after SNP infusion. The SAD group showed a relatively higher reduction in glutamaterelease when compared with the BL group. These results suggest that the baroreceptors are morepowerful in pERK expression and glutamate release in the RVLM following hypotension than thevestibular receptors, but the vestibular receptors still have an important role in the RVLM.
