A Novel Dual-Mode Bandpass Filter Based on a Defected Waveguide Resonator
Xuehui Guan,Wei Fu,Haiwen Liu,안달,임종식 한국전자통신연구원 2011 ETRI Journal Vol.33 No.6
A novel dual-mode bandpass filter (BPF) using a dual spiral-shaped defected ground waveguide (DGW) resonator is proposed in this letter. The dual-mode characteristic of this filter is achieved by loading a defected T-shaped stub at the midline of the spiral-shaped DGW resonator. Also, non-orthogonal input and output feed-lines are adopted in the filter. Based on the compact DGW structure, a dual-mode BPF with central frequency of 1.5 GHz for the global positioning system is designed, fabricated, and measured. Measured results agree well with the predicted response and verify the proposed methodology.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to assess carotid stiffening in a pre-hypertensive (PHT) population using ultrafast pulse wave velocity (ufPWV). Methods: This study retrospectively enrolled 626 individuals who underwent clinical interviews, serum tests, and assessments of the systolic blood pressure (SBP), diastolic blood pressure (DBP), carotid intima-media thickness (cIMT), pulse wave velocity-beginning of systole (PWV-BS), and pulse wave velocity-end of systole (PWV-ES) between January 2017 and December 2021. The patients were divided into three groups according to their blood pressure (BP)—normal BP (NBP): SBP <130 mmHg and DBP <80 mmHg (n=215); PHT: 130 mmHg≤SBP<140 mmHg and/or 80 mmHg≤DBP<90 mmHg (n=119); hypertensive (HT): SBP ≥140 mmHg and/or DBP ≥90 mmHg (n=292). Correlation analyses and comparisons were performed among the groups and in the cIMT subgroups (cIMT ≥0.050 cm and <0.050 cm). Results: cIMT and PWV-ES significantly differed among the BP groups (P<0.05). The BP groups had similar PWV-BS when cIMT <0.050 cm or cIMT ≥0.050 cm (all P>0.05). However, the NBP group had a notably lower PWV-ES than the PHT (P<0.001 and P=0.024) and HT (all P<0.001) groups in both cIMT categories, while the PWV-ES in the PHT group were not significantly lower than in the HT group (all P>0.05). Conclusion: Carotid morphological and biomechanical properties in the PHT group differed from those in the NBP group. ufPWV could be used for an early evaluation of carotid stiffening linked to pre-hypertension.

A method is proposed in this paper to estimate the workability of self-compacting concrete (SCC) in different mixing conditions with different mixers and mixing volumes by recording the mixing process based on deep learning (DL). The SCC mixing videos were transformed into a series of image sequences to fit the DL model to predict the SF and VF values of SCC, with four groups in total and approximately thirty thousand image sequence samples. The workability of three groups SCC whose mixing conditions were learned by the DL model, was estimated. One additionally collected group of the SCC whose mixing condition was not learned, was also predicted. The results indicate that whether the SCC mixing condition is included in the training set and learned by the model, the trained model can estimate SCC with different workability effectively at the same time. Our goal to estimate SCC workability in different mixing conditions is achieved.

Seventy-four piglets were used to investigate the effects of dietary glutamine (Gln) and glutamate (Glu) on the mucosal structure and active absorption of small intestinal, DNA and RNA concentrations of skeletal muscle tissue in piglets during d 28 to 42 of age. Postweaning piglets were fed for 14 d corn- and soybean meal-based diets supplemented with 0.0 or 1.0% L-Gln or L-Glu. On d 7 and 14 postweaning, pigs' small intestinal sections and longissimus dorsi were collected, at the same time, the D-xylose absorption test was conducted. The results suggested that in comparison to control piglets, jejunal atrophy during the first week postweaning was prevented by the glutamine and glutamate supplementation (1%) and the capability of small intestine to absorb Dxylose was improved. Furthermore the RNA concentration in skeletal muscle tissue was increased. These results provide an experimental basis for use of glutamine and glutamate on alleviating the weaning stresses and improving piglets' growth performance.

Compact multi-band bandpass filters using quad-mode stubloadedresonators are proposed in this letter. Firstly, a novelapproach about the mode-splitting characteristics of thequadruple-mode resonator is investigated, which can providedual-band behavior. Secondly, a quad-band filter is proposedand designed by cascading two quadruple-mode resonators;the upper one operates at 1.8/2.4 GHz (GSM- and WiMaxband)and the lower one at 1.57/2.1 GHz (GPS- and WCDMAband). Finally, the proposed filters have been fabricated. Respectable agreement between simulation and measurementverifies the validity of this design methodology.
Patch size adaptive image inpainting
( Huaming Liu ),( Guanming Lu ),( Xuehui Bi ),( Weilan Wang ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2021 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.15 No.10
Texture synthesis technology has the advantages of repairing texture and structure at the same time. However, during the filling process, the size of the patch is fixed, and the content of the filling is not fully considered. In order to be able to adaptively change the patch size, we used the exemplar-based inpainting technique as the test algorithm, considering the image structure and texture, calculated the image structure patch size and texture patch size, and comprehensively determined the image patch size. This can adaptively change the patch size according to the filling content. In addition, we use multi-layer images to calculate the priority, so that the order of image repair was more stable. The proposed repair algorithm is compared with other image repair algorithms. The experimental results showed that the proposed adaptive image repair algorithm can better repair the texture and structure of the image, which proved the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

A microstrip dual-wideband bandpass filter using amultimode resonator (MMR) is proposed in this letter. Theproposed MMR loaded with a T-shaped open-ended stub and ashort-ended stub exhibits triple mode characteristics, and asynthesis method is developed to illustrate the wide passbandwith independently controllable center frequencies andbandwidths. To verify this design methodology, a dualwidebandfilter with fractional bandwidths of 19.1% and27.9% is designed and fabricated. The measured results agreewith the simulations.

Purpose: The present study investigated the association between Systematic COronary Risk Evaluation (SCORE)-estimated cardiovascular risk and carotid stiffening in a middle-aged population using ultrafast pulse wave velocity (ufPWV).Methods: This study enrolled 683 participants without known cardiovascular disease or diabetes mellitus who underwent ufPWV measurements. Clinical interviews, physical examinations, laboratory findings, carotid intima-media thickness (cIMT), pulse wave velocity (PWV) at the beginning of systole (PWV-BS), and PWV at the end of systole (PWV-ES) were assessed. Each participant underwent an assessment of SCORE risk based on major cardiovascular risk factors (CVRFs), including age, sex, smoking, systolic blood pressure (SBP), and total cholesterol (TC). Crude and adjusted odds ratios (ORs) with 95% confidence intervals and ordinal logistic regression were used. Overall CVRFs were adjusted to assess ORs.Results: cIMT and carotid stiffening in PWV-BS and PWV-ES were significantly different between sex subgroups (all P<0.05), but only PWV-ES increased gradually in age and SCORE-estimated risk subgroups (all P<0.05). Compared with cIMT (r=0.388, P<0.001) and PWV-BS (r=0.159, P<0.001), PWV-ES was more strongly correlated with SCORE categories (r=0.405, P<0.001). Higher PWV-ES values were associated with SCORE categories independently of sex, SBP, TC, and smoking in moderate-risk and high-risk subgroups (OR, 1.63; P<0.001 and OR, 2.12; P=0.024, respectively), but were not independent of age in all risk subgroups (all P>0.05).Conclusion: Carotid stiffening quantified by ufPWV is linked to SCORE categories, and elevated PWV-ES may aid in cardiovascular risk stratification.
