Formation Mechanisms for (Cr,Co)7C3/(Cr,Co)23C6 Heterogeneous Precipitates and Stacking Faults Around Carbides in Surfacing Welding of Stellite Alloy on Stainless Steel

        Jiankun Xiong,Haibo Zhang,Fuheng Nie,Fen He,Jianping Yang,Zhan Hu,Zhongbo Wen,Haiyan Zhao,Xinjian Yuan 대한금속·재료학회 2022 METALS AND MATERIALS International Vol.28 No.7

The formation mechanisms for two carbides with co-existence and increasing stacking faults nearby the carbides duringsurfacing welding were investigated in this study. The results indicated that the surfacing layer had a two-phase structure ofa matrix phase and a second phase, the density of the second phase was relatively small and the second phase was discontinuous,by contrast with the as-received welding wire. Relatively uniform microstructure of surfacing layer and the weldinginterface without melting of base metal were obtained, resulting in an inapparent change in the microhardness. A few carbideswith blocky shape were identified in the surfacing layer. The mechanisms for (Cr,Co)23C6 of face-centered cubic crystalstructure co-existing with (Cr,Co)7C3 of hexagonal close-packed crystal structure and (Cr,Co)23C6 subsequently forming closeto the pre-formed (Cr,Co)7C3 during the cooling process were discussed in alloying element, calculated equilibrium phasediagram, Gibbs energy, etc. The relatively higher density of the stacking fault present around the carbides was understoodfrom forming energy of stacking faults.

Effect of Vehicle-Bridge Interaction Vibration on Young Concrete

        Xiong Zhang,Ming Zhao,Yong-juan Zhang,Zhou Lei,Yue-ran Zhang 대한토목학회 2015 KSCE JOURNAL OF CIVIL ENGINEERING Vol.19 No.1

The purpose of this investigation was to study the effect of vehicle-bridge interaction vibration on repairing concrete. A newlydeveloped systematic test was used to simulate the vibration and evaluate its effect. The results indicated that both external damageand internal damage were serious when the simulated vibration test was conducted during a special time period. And this special timeperiod was defined as the concrete disturbance sensitive period when the penetration resistance ranged from 3.5 MPa to 28 MPa. Anti-cracking fiber and self-healing admixture improved the vibration resistance of young concrete. When the dosage of anticrackingfiber came to 800 g/m3 by volume of concrete, the 3-day crack area on the concrete surface decreased over 50%. When 9%self-healing admixture was added to the concrete, the ultrasonic pulse velocity of concrete subjected to vibration was higher all thetime than without the admixture added. And the ultrasonic pulse velocity at the age of 28 days reached 95% of the control concretewhich suffered no vibration. Sand percentage and maximum aggregate size were found to significantly influence the vibrationresistance of concrete.

      • Risk Factors for Cervical Cancer in Rural Areas of Wuhan China: a Matched Case-control Study

        Zhang, Bin,Zhou, Ai-Fen,Zhu, Chang-Cai,Zhang, Ling,Xiang, Bing,Chen, Zhong,Hu, Rong-Hua,Zhang, Ya-Qi,Qiu, Lin,Zhang, Yi-Ming,Xiong, Chao-Du,Du, Yu-Kai,Shi, Yu-Qin Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2013 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.14 No.12

Cervical cancer is a serious public health problem in developing countries. We investigated possible risk factors for cervical cancer in rural areas of Wuhan China using a matched case-control study with 33 women diagnosed with cervical cancer and 132 healthy women selected from the same area as matched controls. A questionnaire, which included questions about general demography conditions, environmental and genetic factors, the first sexual intercourse, first marriage age, age at first pregnancy, pregnancy first child's age, female personal health history, social psychological factors, dietary habits, smoking and alcohol status and other living habits was presented to all participants. At the same time, HPV infection of every participant was examined in laboratory testing. Results showed HPV infection (P<0.000, OR=23.4) and pregnancy first child's age (P<0.000, OR=13.1) to be risk factors for cervical cancer. Menopause (P=0.003, OR=0.073) was a protective factor against cervical cancer. However, there was no indication of associations of environmental (drinking water, insecticide, disinfectant) genetic (cancer family history), or life-style factors (smoking status, alcohol status, physical training, sleep quality), including dietary habits (intake of fruit and vegetable, meat, fried food, bean products and pickled food) or social psychological factors with cervical cancer. The results suggest that the risk of cervical cancer in Chinese rural women may be associated with HPV infection, menopause and the pregnancy first child's age.

        Zhang, Lijun,Wang, Guiheng,Xiong, Can,Zheng, Lei,He, Jianbo,Ding, Yunsheng,Lu, Hongbo,Zhang, Guobing,Cho, Kilwon,Qiu, Longzhen Elsevier 2018 Biosensors & bioelectronics Vol.105 No.-

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Chiral recognition of α-amino acids is attracting increasing interest due to the importance of α-amino acids in protein metabolism as well as in food products and pharmaceuticals. Organic electrochemical transistors (OECTs) with gate electrodes modified with molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) films were fabricated and successfully used as highly selective and sensitive chiral recognition biosensors for <SMALL>D/L</SMALL>-tryptophan (<SMALL>D</SMALL> <SMALL>/</SMALL> <SMALL>L</SMALL>-Trp) and <SMALL>D/L</SMALL>-tyrosine (<SMALL>D</SMALL> <SMALL>/</SMALL> <SMALL>L</SMALL>-Tyr). The MIP films, which can specifically recognize and has an electrocatalytic effect on the oxidation of Trp and Tyr, together with the amplification function of an OECT, provide a highly sensitive and selective OECT biosensor. The sensor showed a linear response range for <SMALL>L</SMALL>-Trp and <SMALL>L</SMALL>-Tyr from 300 nM to 10 μM with a sensitivity of 3.19 and 3.64 μA/μM, respectivity. And the detection limit for <SMALL>L</SMALL>-Trp and <SMALL>L</SMALL>-Tyr is of 2 nM and 30 nM (S/N > 3). The selectivity factors of <SMALL>L</SMALL>-Trp, <SMALL>D</SMALL>-Trp, <SMALL>L</SMALL>-Tyr and <SMALL>D</SMALL>-Tyr to their enantiomers are 11.6, 3.5, 14.5 and 2.6, respectively. This method can pave the way for widespread applications of OECT-based sensors in chiral material identification.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> An novel chiral recognition MIP-OECT sensor was developed. </LI> <LI> The MIP films showed good performance of selective and electro-catalytic oxidation for Trp and Tyr. </LI> <LI> The MIP films together with the amplification function of an OECT afforded a highly sensitive, selective sensor for chirality detection of amino acid enantiomers. </LI> </UL> </P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>

      • Two-Dimensional Unilamellar Cation-Deficient Metal Oxide Nanosheet Superlattices for High-Rate Sodium Ion Energy Storage

        Xiong, Pan,Zhang, Xiuyun,Zhang, Fan,Yi, Ding,Zhang, Jinqiang,Sun, Bing,Tian, Huajun,Shanmukaraj, Devaraj,Rojo, Teofilo,Armand, Michel,Ma, Renzhi,Sasaki, Takayoshi,Wang, Guoxiu American Chemical Society 2018 ACS NANO Vol.12 No.12

<P>Cation-deficient two-dimensional (2D) materials, especially atomically thin nanosheets, are highly promising electrode materials for electrochemical energy storage that undergo metal ion insertion reactions, yet they have rarely been achieved thus far. Here, we report a Ti-deficient 2D unilamellar lepidocrocite-type titanium oxide (Ti0.87O2) nanosheet superlattice for sodium storage. The superlattice composed of alternately restacked defective Ti0.87O2 and nitrogen-doped graphene monolayers exhibits an outstanding capacity of ∼490 mA h g-1 at 0.1 A g-1, an ultralong cycle life of more than 10000 cycles with ∼0.00058% capacity decay per cycle, and especially superior low-temperature performance (100 mA h g-1 at 12.8 A g-1 and −5 °C), presenting the best reported performance to date. A reversible Na+ ion intercalation mechanism without phase and structural change is verified by first-principles calculations and kinetics analysis. These results herald a promising strategy to utilize defective 2D materials for advanced energy storage applications.</P> [FIG OMISSION]</BR>

Limited Unilateral Decompression and Pedicle Screw Fixation with Fusion for Lumbar Spinal Stenosis with Unilateral Radiculopathy : A Retrospective Analysis of 25 Cases

        Zhang, Li,Miao, Hai-xiong,Wang, Yong,Chen, An-fu,Zhang, Tao,Liu, Xiao-guang The Korean Neurosurgical Society 2015 Journal of Korean neurosurgical society Vol.46 No.4

Objective : Lumbar spinal stenosis is conventionally treated with surgical decompression. However, bilateral decompression and laminectomy is more invasive and may not be necessary for lumbar stenosis patients with unilateral radiculopathy. We aimed to report the outcomes of unilateral laminectomy and bilateral pedicle screw fixation with fusion for patients with lumbar spinal stenosis and unilateral radiculopathy. Methods : Patients with lumbar spinal stenosis with unilateral lower extremity radiculopathy who received limited unilateral decompression and bilateral pedicle screw fixation were included and evaluated using visual analog scale (VAS) pain and the Oswestry Disability Index (ODI) scores preoperatively and at follow-up visits. Ligamentum flavum thickness of the involved segments was measured on axial magnetic resonance images. Results : Twenty-five patients were included. The mean preoperative VAS score was $6.6{\pm}1.6$ and $4.6{\pm}3.1$ for leg and back pain, respectively. Ligamentum flavum thickness was comparable between the symptomatic and asymptomatic side (p=0.554). The mean follow-up duration was 29.2 months. The pain in the symptomatic side lower extremity (VAS score, $1.32{\pm}1.2$) and the back (VAS score, $1.75{\pm}1.73$) significantly improved (p=0.000 vs. baseline for both). The ODI improved significantly postoperatively ($6.60{\pm}6.5$; p=0.000 vs. baseline). Significant improvement in VAS pain and ODI scores were observed in patients receiving single or multi-segment decompression fusion with fixation (p<0.01). Conclusion : Limited laminectomy and unilateral spinal decompression followed by bilateral pedicle screw fixation with fusion achieves satisfactory outcomes in patients with spinal stenosis and unilateral radiculopathy. This procedure is less damaging to structures that are important for maintaining posterior stability of the spine.

Metabolomics reveals potential biomarkers in the rumen fluid of dairy cows with different levels of milk production

        Zhang, Hua,Tong, Jinjin,Zhang, Yonghong,Xiong, Benhai,Jiang, Linshu Asian Australasian Association of Animal Productio 2020 Animal Bioscience Vol.33 No.1

Objective: In the present study, an liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry (LC/MS) metabolomics approach was performed to investigate potential biomarkers of milk production in high- and low-milk-yield dairy cows and to establish correlations among rumen fluid metabolites. Methods: Sixteen lactating dairy cows with similar parity and days in milk were divided into high-yield (HY) and low-yield (LY) groups based on milk yield. On day 21, rumen fluid metabolites were quantified applying LC/MS. Results: The principal component analysis and orthogonal correction partial least squares discriminant analysis showed significantly separated clusters of the ruminal metabolite profiles of HY and LY groups. Compared with HY group, a total of 24 ruminal metabolites were significantly greater in LY group, such as 3-hydroxyanthranilic acid, carboxylic acids, carboxylic acid derivatives (L-isoleucine, L-valine, L-tyrosine, etc.), diazines (uracil, thymine, cytosine), and palmitic acid, while the concentrations of 30 metabolites were dramatically decreased in LY group compared to HY group, included gentisic acid, caprylic acid, and myristic acid. The metabolite enrichment analysis indicated that protein digestion and absorption, ABC transporters and unsaturated fatty acid biosynthesis were significantly different between the two groups. Correlation analysis between the ruminal microbiome and metabolites revealed that certain typical metabolites were exceedingly associated with definite ruminal bacteria; Firmicutes, Actinobacteria, and Synergistetes phyla were highly correlated with most metabolites. Conclusion: These findings revealed that the ruminal metabolite profiles were significantly different between HY and LY groups, and these results may provide novel insights to evaluate biomarkers for a better feed digestion and may reveal the potential mechanism underlying the difference in milk yield in dairy cows.

Zhang, Chuan Xiong,Wang, Hua Ping,Wang, Chao Sheng The Korean Fiber Society 2007 Fibers and polymers Vol.8 No.3

In this work, the method, in principle ofthe box complex algorithm was adopted to obtain stress-induced crystallization coefficient C and the strain-optical coefficient $A_{op}$ with the value of 295 and $1.5{\times}10^{-9}$, respectively, and some parameters $A_1=0.27$, $A_2=5.06$, a= 3.5, b=1.8 relative to the elongational viscosity of poly(trimethylene terephthalate)(PTT) fiber. The vitrification distance as a function of the take-up velocity and mass throughput was also gotten. The effects of spinning conditions on filament temperature, velocity gradient, spinning tension, birefringence and crystallinity, and effect of viscoelasticity on take-up velocity had been discussed.

      • ABO Blood Group, Epstein-Barr virus Infection and Prognosis of Patients with Non-metastatic Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma

        Zhang, Ya-Xiong,Kang, Shi-Yang,Chen, Gang,Fang, Wen-Feng,Wu, Xuan,You, Hua-Jing,He, Da-Cheng,Cao, Ya-Lin,Liang, Wen-Hua,Zhang, Li Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2014 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.15 No.17

Background: A prior study showed blood type A/AB to be associated with an increased risk of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) compared to subjects with blood type O. However, the relationship between ABO blood groups and prognosis of NPC patients is still questionable. In addition, whether Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infection is associated with prognosis of NPC patients with different ABO blood groups is unclear. Materials and Methods: We conducted univariate and multivariable Cox regression analyses based on a consecutive cohort of 1,601 patients to investigate the above issues. Results: There was no significant difference in overall survival (OS) between different ABO blood groups (p=0.629), neither between A vs. non-A blood groups (p=0.895) nor AB vs. non-AB blood group (p=0.309) in univariate analyses and after adjusting for other factors. Interaction tests revealed that high immunoglobulin A against Epstein-Barr virus viral capsid antigen (VcA-IgA) level was associated with a favorable prognosis in male patients with UICC stage II disease who had an A blood type (p=0.008), compared with those with non-A blood type. In addition, male patients with an A blood group with a high blood lymphocyte level showeda tendency towards better survival in UICC stage III (p=0.096). Conclusions: ABO blood group status is not associated with the prognosis of patients with NPC. Additionally, blood group A male NPC patients with high VcA-IgA level or high blood lymphocyte counts might be correlated with a favorable prognosis in UICC stage II or III, respectively.
