The effect of CeO2 addition on crystallization and thermo-physical properties of lithium zinc silicate (LZS) glasses containingLi2O-ZnO-SiO2-Al2O3-Na2O-P2O5 was investigated. The changes of CeO2 contents (2-8 wt.%) had an obvious influence on thetransition temperatures (Tg) and crystallization temperatures (Tc) of LZS glass-ceramics, and they increased with CeO2 contentincreasing. According to XRD analysis, CeO2 promoted the formation of cristobalite and β-spodumene crystals, and β-spodumene increased obviously. As the CeO2 content increasing, the microstructure and microhardness (being 6.88 Gpa at 880oC) of glass-ceramics had great changes. The average thermal expansion coefficient (20 - 450 oC) showed first increasing thendecreasing, having a wide range. The maximum of thermal expansion coefficient was obtained when the glass-ceramicscontained 4 wt.% CeO2, being 175×10−7 K−1 (at 700 oC) and 178×10−7 K−1 (at 880 oC) respectively. Excellent thermo-physicalproperties indicate the glass has greater potential application, such as being used as sealing glass.

A novel plant annexin, CkANN, was isolated from Cynanchum komarovii. Sequence analysis showed that CkANN contained four conserved exdonexin fold regions, a putative peroxidase heme binding motif and two S3 clusters. Real-time PCR analysis indicated that the CkANN mRNAwas abundant in leaf, flower, root and stem and that its level is highest in leaf and flower. The transcription level of CkANN was increased significantly following stress by salicylic acid (SA), methyl jasmonate (MeJA), abscisic acid (ABA), NaCl, PEG 6000 (polyethylene glycol) and H_2O_2. Over-expression of CkANN in transgenic cotton caused a significant increase in tolerance to drought and led to higher levels of proline and soluble carbohydrates compared to wild-type (WT) plants. In response to drought,the transgenic plants also displayed higher total chlorophyll levels and reduced accumulation of thiobarbituric acidreactive substances (TBARS) compared to WT plants. Furthermore, the transgenic cotton showed enhanced resistance to Fusarium oxysporum via increased total peroxidase activity and induction of the expression of some pathogenesis-related proteins. In conclusion, this study has demonstrated that C. komarovii CkANN is involved in drought tolerance and disease resistance and therefore may contribute significantly to the development of drought- or disease-resistant crops.

The main research conducted previously on GPS ionosphere in China is first introduced. Besides, the current investigations include as follows: (1) GPS-based spatial environmental, especially the ionosphere, monitoring, modeling and analysis, including ground/space-based GPS ionosphere electron density (IED) through occultation/ tomography technologies with GPS data from global/regional network, development of a GNSS-based platform for imaging ionosphere and atmosphere (GPFIIA), and preliminary test results through performing the first 3D imaging for the IED over China, (2) The atmospheric and ionospheric modeling for GPS-based surveying, navigation and orbit determination, involving high precisely ionospheric TEC modeling for phase-based long/ median range network RTK system for achieving CM-level real time positioning, next generation GNSS broadcast ionospheric time-delay algorithm required for higher correction accuracy, and orbit determination for Low-Earth-orbiter satellites using single frequency GPS receivers, and (3) Research products in applications for national significant projects: GPS-based ionospheric effects modeling for precise positioning and orbit determination applied to China’s manned space-engineering, including spatial robot navigation and control and international space station intersection and docking required for related national significant projects.
