      • Effect of Diallyl Trisulfide on Human Ovarian Cancer SKOV-3/DDP Cell Apoptosis

        Aim: To investigate the effects of diallyl trisulfide (DT) on apoptosis of cisplatin (DDP)-resistant human epithelial ovarian cancer SKOV-3 cells (SKOV-3/DDP), and the role of p53 upregulated modulator of apoptosis (PUMA). Methods: SKOV-3/DDP cells were randomly divided into control, DT, DPP and DPP+DT groups, which were treated with DT or combined DT and DDP. All cells were incubated for 48 h. and apoptosis rates were assessed by flow cytometry. mRNA and protein expression of PUMA, Bax and Bcl-2 was determined by RT-PCR and Western blot assays, respectively. Results: Compared with control group, the apoptosis rates of SKOV-3/DDP cells in DT groups were obviously increased, with dose-dependence (P < 0.05), the mRNA and protein expressions of PUMA, Bax also being up-regulated (P < 0.05), while those of Bcl-2 were down-regulated (P < 0.05). Compared with DT groups, the apoptosis rate in the DDP+DT group was significantly increased (P < 0.05). After knockdown of PUMA with specific siRNA, the apoptosis rate of SKOV-3/DDP cells was obviously decreased (P < 0.05). Conclusion: DT can promote the apoptosis of SKOV-3/DDP cells with PUMA playing a critical role.

        Molecular Cloning and Expression Analysis of a Delta 6-Fatty Acid Desaturase Gene from Rhizopus stolonifer Strain YF6 Which Can Accumulate High Levels of Gamma-Linolenic Acid

        The delta 6-desaturase gene was cloned from Rhizopus stolonifer, which could accumulate up to 49% of gamma-linolenic acid (GLA, C18:3 Δ^(6,9,12)) to the total fatty acids. The cloned DNA contains a 1,380 bp open reading frame encoding a protein of 460 amino acids, which showed high similarity to those of fungal delta 6-desaturases with three conserved histidine-rich motifs and HPGG motif. Notably, this deduced sequence had a shorter C-terminus. Results demonstrated that the cDNA sequence exhibited delta 6-desaturase activity by accumulation of about 22.4% of GLA to the total fatty acids in the recombinant Pichia pastoris strain GS115.

        중국인 학습자를 위한 ‘착하다’의 교육 연구

        목적 이 연구는 ‘착하다’의 다양한 의미와 용법을 재검토함으로써 중국인 학습자를 대상으로 한 한국어교육에서 효과적인 ‘착하다’의 교육 방향을 제시하는 데에 목적이 있다. 방법 본 연구에서는 ‘착하다’의 변별적 의미를 분석하기 위해 문헌 연구, 텍스트 분석, 설문 조사 등 다양한 연구 방법을 사용하였다. 문헌 연구를 통해 연구의 이론 근거를 제공하고 텍스트 분석과 설문 조사를 통해 실제 언어 상황에서 ‘착하다’의 확장 의미 사용 양상을 검토하였다. 결과 모어 화자의 말뭉치 자료 분석을 통하여 모어 화자의 ‘착하다’ 사용 양상을 살펴보았다. 또한 학습자의 특성에 맞는 교육을 하기 위해 우선, 설문 조사를 실시하여 ‘착하다’의 각 확장 의미에 대한 학습자의 인식 척도를 살펴보았다. 이어서 중국인 학습자의 말뭉치 자료 분석을 통해 중국인 학습자들의 ‘착하다’ 사용 양상을 파악하였다. 결론 본 연구에서는 효과적인 교육이 이루어지도록 <한국어교육 어휘 내용 개발 (4단계)>, <국제 통용 한국어 표준 교육과정 적용 연구>의 기준을 바탕으로 모어 화자의 사용 빈도, 중국인 학습자의 사용 양상, 중국어 대응어 “善良”과의 차이 등의 요인을 고려하여 의미를 등급화하였다. 또한 ‘착하다’를 교수할 때 적용할 수 있도록 단계별 교수 및 수용적 학습과 생산적 학습으로의 구분, 모국어 전이를 고려한 사용 제약의 명시, 말뭉치 자료의 활용, 유사 의미의 제시와 용례 비교 등 여러 교육 방안을 제안하였다. Objectives The purpose of this study is to re-examine the various semantics and usages of ‘착하다’ for suggest an effe studyctive educational direction of ‘착하다’ in Korean education for Chinese learners. Methods In this, various research methods such as literature research text analysis and questionnaire survey were used to analyze the discriminatory meaning of ‘착하다’. By providing the theoretical basis for the study through literature research, the actual use pattern was reviewed through text analysis and questionnaire survey. Results By analyzing the corpus data of native speakers, look at the use of native speakers of ‘착하다’. In addition, in order to carry out the education that accords with learners characteristics, first, a survey was conducted to examine learners attitude scale of extended meaning of ‘착하다’. Then, through the corpus analysis of Chinese learners, the use of ‘착하다’ were identified by Chinese learners. Conclusions Based on the criteria of <Research on Korean Language Education Vocabulary Conent Development (Stage 4)> and <Applied Research for the International Standard Curriculum of Korean Language>, the frequency of use of native speakers, the use of Chinese learners, the difference from the Chinese counterpart ‘善良’. In addition, in the teaching of ‘착하다’, a variety of educational schemes are put forward, including the step-by-step teaching and the distinction between receptive learning and productive learning, explicit of restrictive usage considering L1 transfer, the use of corpus data, presenting similar meanings and comparison of usage etc.

        한국어 교재 대화문의 헤지(hedge) 표현 제시 양상 분석 연구 - 중국에서 주로 사용하는 교재를 대상으로

        본 연구에서는 중국 현지에서 주로 시용하는 한국어 교재의 대화문에 나타난 헤지(hedge) 표현의 제시 양상을 파악하여 효과적인 제시 방안을 모색하였다. 본 연구에서는 총 13권교재의 398개 대화문에서 나타난 헤지 표현을 형식과 내용적인 측면으로 나누어 파악하였으며 내용적인 층면은 다시 형태별 분포, 기능별 분포, 상항별 분포로 나누어 살펴보았다. 교재 분석의 결과, 교재에서 헤지 표현의 표제어의 부재; 대화 상황을 구체적으로 제시하지 않음; 대화의 상황과 맥락이 매우 단순함; 다양한 헤지 표현에 대한 제시가 부족하다는 문제점을 발견하였다. 이를 위해 헤지 표현의 사용에 대한 기본 정보의 제공; 모어 화자들이 선호한 표현을 제시함; 다양한 대화 상황과 맥락을 추가하여 대화 주제의 다양성과 대화 내용의 풍부성에 신경 더 써야 함; 헤지 표현이 있는 문장과 없는 문장의 비교함과 같이 제언을 제시하였다. In this study, we will figure out the problems of the Korean language textbooks mainly used in China by analyzing the presentation patterns of hedging expressions in dialogues in them. To this end, we will analyze the presentation image of the hedging expressions by dividing the hedging expressions found in a total of 398 dialogues in 13 textbooks, which are widely used in universities in China. Based on the analysis, we concluded that in the textbooks there is: ①A lack of explanation on the types, roles, and meanings of hedging expressions, and ②A lack of presentation of specific and diverse dialogue contexts and dialogues. The problem we found is that the situations are presented with information such as the relationship and intimacy of the participants in the conversation, but the information is vague and insufficient. Based on this finding, we suggest that: ①The textbooks shall denote the purpose and functions of the hedging expressions. ②Both textbooks and tutors shall emphasize the complex expressions. ③The textbooks shall uphold the diversity of topics and contents. In addition, enough attention shall be given to abundance. And ④Information about the characters in the textbook shall be provided.

        Ni Nanoparticle-Graphene Oxide Composites for Speedy and Efficient Removal of Cr(VI) from Wastewater

        In this study, Ni nanoparticle supported by graphene oxide (GO) (Ni-GO) is successfully synthesized through hydrothermal synthesis and calcination, and Cr(VI) is extracted from aqueous solution. The morphology and structure of Ni-GO composites are characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), trans mission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). High-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) and XRD confirms the high dispersion of Ni nanoparticle after support by GO. Loading Ni on GO can obviously enhance the stability of Ni-GO composites. It can be calculated from TGA that the mass percentage of Ni is about 60.67 %. The effects of initial pH and reaction time on Cr(VI) removal ability of Ni-GO are investigated. The results indicate that the removal efficiency of Cr(VI) is greater than that of bared GO. Ni-GO shows fast removal capacity for Cr(VI) (<25 min) with high removal efficiency. Dynamic experiments show that the removal process conforms to the quasi-second order model of adsorption, which indicates that the rate control step of the removal process is chemical adsorption. The removal capacity increases with the increase of temperature, indicating that the reaction of Cr(VI) on Ni-GO composites is endothermic and spontaneous. Combined with tests and characterization, the mechanism of Cr(VI) removal by rapidly adsorption on the surface of Ni-GO and reduction by Ni nanoparticle is investigated. The above results show that Ni-GO can be used as a potential remediation agent for Cr(VI)-contaminated groundwater.

        퇴계 이황은 한국 유학사에서 지난날을 이어받아 앞날을 개척한 의의를 지닌 명실상부한 유학의 대가다. 『聖學十圖』와 『天命新圖』를 전형적 대표로 하는 퇴계학설은 圖說學적 학문 방법ㆍ만물연화의 우주론ㆍ하나가 나뉘어 둘이 되고 합하면 하나가 되는[一分爲二合而爲一] 사유방법ㆍ사람은 누구나 성현이 될 수 있음을 인정하는 인식론 등의 여러 방면에서 모두 염계 주돈이에 대한 생동감 있는 계승과 진일보한 발전이다. 퇴계와 염계 사이의 사상적 계승 관계를 논증하는 것은 독특한 특색을 갖춘 한국 유학 발전의 중요한 일면이고, 또한 송명이학 연구를 심화하는데 소홀히 할 수 없는 절차이기도 하다. Yi T’oegye is a generation of Confucianists who are worthy of inheriting the past and opening up the future in the history of Confucianism in South Korea. Yi T’oegye’s theory, represented by Shengxue Shitu and Tianming Xintu, vividly inherits Chou Tun-i in the following aspects: the academic method of iconography theory, the debate about cosmology of the evolution of all things, the way of thinking that divides into two and combines into one, and the epistemology that everyone can become a saint, except that, he further development it. It is an important way to deepen the study of Neo Confucianism in song and Ming Dynasties that the ideological inheritance relationship between Tuixi and Lianxi, and meanwhile, It is an important aspect of the unique development of Korean Confucianism, It is also an important way to deepen the study of Neo Confucianism in song and Ming Dynasty.

      • ATAD2 is Highly Expressed in Ovarian Carcinomas and Indicates Poor Prognosis

        The purpose of this study was to explore the expression of ATAD2 in ovarian tumor tissue as well as its relationship with degree of malignancy. Tumor tissue from 110 cases of ovarian cancer was collected in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki for evaluation of ATAD2 expression iimmunohistochemistry, quantitative PCR (qPCR) and Western blotting. The correlation between the ATAD2 expression and and the prognosis of ovarian cancer was evaluated by Cox regression model. In addition, HO-8910 and OVCAR-3 cells were transfected with two siRNAs targeting ATAD2. Cell viability was evaluated with MTT assay, and cell migration by transwell migration assay. ATAD2 was shown to be highly expressed in 65.5% (72/110) of ovarian cancer cases, both at transcriptional and protein levels. Moreover, highly expression was positively correlated with degree of malignancy. Knock-down of ATAD2 in HO-8910 and OVCAR-3 cells was found to reduce cell migration. In addition, follow-up visits of the patients demonstrated that the 5-year survival rate was lower in patients with high expression of ATAD2. Our study suggested that ovarian tumor tissue may have highly expressed ATAD2, which is associated with tumor stage, omentum-metastasis, ascites and CA-125. Increased ATAD2 may play important roles in tumor proliferation and migration. ATAD2 could serve in particular as a prognostic marker and a therapeutic target for ovarian cancer.

        GEP-based Framework for Immune- Inspired Intrusion Detection

        Immune-inspired intrusion detection is a promising technology for network security, and well known for its diversity, adaptation, self-tolerance, etc. However, scalability and coverage are two major drawbacks of the immune-inspired intrusion detection systems (IIDSes). In this paper, we propose an IIDS framework, named GEP-IIDS, with improved basic system elements to address these two problems. First, an additional bio-inspired technique, gene expression programming (GEP), is introduced in detector (corresponding to detection rules) representation. In addition, inspired by the avidity model of immunology, new avidity/affinity functions taking the priority of attributes into account are given. Based on the above two improved elements, we also propose a novel immune algorithm that is capable of integrating two bio-inspired mechanisms (i.e., negative selection and positive selection) by using a balance factor. Finally, a pruning algorithm is given to reduce redundant detectors that consume footprint and detection time but do not contribute to improving performance. Our experimental results show the feasibility and effectiveness of our solution to handle the scalability and coverage problems of IIDS.
