By employing an orthogonal linear-polarization combination, (+45, we prepared a surface relief grating (SRG) and a birefringence grating (BG) on an azo polymer lm. Atomic force microscopy (AFM) showed that the SRG height gradually increased, and the height was 56.5 nm at an input uence of 63 J/cm2. All the diraction orders from the gratings were measured simultaneously, and the BG characteristics were analyzed from the s and the p components of the rst-order diraction beam and the measured SRG height. The BG showed an abrupt increase in the beginning of writing, but decreased shortly later, and became smaller than the SRG at a few minutes after writing. The phase shift between the two gratings was determined to be , which is crucial for determining the SRG formation mechanism.
A Location Tracking Scheme with Dynamic Paging Areas in Mobile Networks

Recenty, as the number of mobile terminals(or users) keeps increasing explosively, the location management to track the mobile terminals in mobile communication systems is being more important.However, previous schemes have used static location information without any consideration about the moving direction of a mobile terminal. This results in unnecessary pagings, thus increasing location management cost. In this paper, we propose a new location tracking scheme using the moving characteristics of a mobile terminal, i.e. moving direction. The direction vector is dfined to represent the moving direction and to compute a distance from the cell where a location update occurs to current cell. The offset operation of direction vectors is also proposed to represent the mobility patterns of a mobil terminal in a paging area. It allows a mobile terminal to locate its own position in a paging area and to determine whether a location update will be performed or not. In this paper, a mobile termainal can vary its own paging area dynamically according to its moving direction whenever it moves across its paging area. Additionally, we present analytic model for our scheme.For comparison, the distancebased scheme is analyzed. The numerical results show that our scheme outperforms the distancebased scheme in the most cases except a low callto-mobility ratio (CMR), particularly if a mobile terminal moves to a specifc direction frequently.
Birefringence grating and surface relief grating on azo polymer

Two types of photo-induced gratings, birefringence and surface relief gratings, were formed on an azo polymer lm when two orthogonal circularly polarized writing beams irradiated the lm. The relief height inscribed on the surface was measured by using atomic force microscope, and the diraction eciencies of all the diracted orders were measured simultaneously. The transmitted beam intensities were calculated using a Jones matrix for the two gratings. The phase dierences for the two gratings were separately determined by tting the experimental results to the theory. Diraction eciency measurement and analysis revealed that the two gratings were independent of each other and that the mechanisms for the two gratings were dierent.

Purpose: Mutations in the p53 gene and accumulation of p53 protein are the most common genetic events in gastric carcinomas. This study evaluates the association of p53 gene expression with clinicopathologic findings and prognosis of gastric cancer patients who underwent curative resection. Methods: Retrospective analysis was performed on 236 consecutive patients with gastric cancer who underwent surgery at the Kosin University Gospel Hospital between December 2011 and September 2012. Nuclear p53 expression was detected by immunohistochemistry. Results: p53 expression was detected in 213 patients (90.3%). There was no significant association between positivity for p53 and clinicopathological features. Expression of p53 (P<0.001), tumour, node, metastasis (TNM) stage (P<0.001), T stage (P<0.001), N stage (P<0.001), Lauren classification (P=0.016), neural invasion (P=0.001), lymphatic invasion (P<0.001), vascular invasion (P<0.001), and recurrence (P<0.001) were identified as independent risk factors for overall survival (OS) in univariate analysis. However, on multivariate regression analysis, there was no statistically significant association with OS. Conclusion: In this study, there was no correlation between expression of p53 and clinicopathological features. Although p53 expression was identified as a risk factor for OS in univariate analysis, it had no statistical significance on multivariate regression analysis.

A new species of the Cletopsyllidae belonging to the genus Isocletopsyllus Huys and Lee, 1999 is described from the materials collected from subtidal sandy bottoms at Jeju Island and Ulleung Island, Korea. So far, only two species of the genus Isocletopsyllus, viz. I. tertius (Por, 1964) from Israel and I. quartus (Soyer, 1966) from Banyuls-sur-Mer (France) are recorded, both from the Mediterranean Ocean. The new species can be clearly distinguished from its congeners by the combination of the following characters: (1) female antennule with a large process on the outer margin of first segment, (2) caudal rami with a bulbous proximal inner expansion, and shorter than those of other species (about four times long as wide in the new species), (3) second segment of P1 exopod with a short rod-like inner seta, (4) sexual dimorphism presented in the second endopodal segment of male P2, not in exopod of P4, and (6) female P5 with a very long exopod with very short second outer seta. A table comparing the modifications of swimming legs in the family Cletopsyllidae Huys and Lee, 1999 is presented. This is the first record of this family from Korea.

Purpose: In colorectal cancer surgery, it is important to have accurate resection margins. But, there is difficulty to find lesions in laparoscopic surgery. To reduce surgical errors, many preoperative localizing methods have been introduced. In this study, we aimed to assess the preoperative feasibility and safety of autologous blood tattooing. Methods: From August 2017 to February 2020, a total of 11 patients underwent preoperative colonoscopic autologous blood tattooing. At the start of surgery, the surgeon assessed for the presence of visibility and other complications such as abscess or spillage. The characteristics of patients, outcomes, and complications were collected retrospectively. Results: The study comprised 8 men and 3 women, with an average age of 63 years. Except for one imprecise patient during the surgery, all other 10 patients showed precise visibility, and no localization errors were observed. No complication was observed in all patients. Conclusion: Preoperative autologous blood tattooing is a very useful and safe technique because it has high visibility and no complications. This method does not require additional agents or facilities. Large scale study will be required for standard guidelines.

With the social atmosphere of respect for human life and the increasing interest in safety of field workers, research and development is underway in various ways to transform direct live method into indirect live method in the field of distribution. As part of this measure, it was necessary to convert electric pole and complex facilities work from machining power distribution to indirect live operation, and install a straight connecting sleeve that connects cut wires for by-pass method, but it failed to meet the tensile strength standard when constructing a sleeve constructed by direct method. In this paper, the design factors were derived based on the case of overseas similar sleeves and the tensile strength evaluation of each variable was performed, based on the analysis of these test results, the method for securing tensile strength of straight-line access sleeves for indirect running was presented.
