In recent years, the performance requested for which an ultra-high rise buildings is diversified. Large spans are designed in order to gain wide workspace. Column positions are shifted in middle stories to provide space different from neighboring floors. Moreover, in the bottom layers of the building, it is becoming more important to expand freedom to plan flexibility such as creating publically opened wide atria that gives attractive free space. Earthquake-proof criteria is also changing not only human life protection deign but also a design that allows functional continuity. In order to achieve thee needs, as one of technology, we have developed ultra-high strength concrete filled tubular (CFT) columns of the box section that combine ultra-high strength concrete with specified strength of $150N/mm^2$ and ultra-high strength steel material with tensile strength of $780N/mm^2$. In this paper, the outline of development of an ultra-high strength CFT column is reported. Also, the structural design of the ultra-high-rise building using the CFT columns is reported.
Mathematical Programming of City and Urban Traffic

This paper deals with mathematical programming model of city and urban traffic. The aim of our research is to acquire ideal images of city and urban traffic. To achieve the aim, we propose optimization models which consist of city, mobilities and inhabitants. Two kinds of models distinguished by accuracy and computation time are proposed. One is relatively accurate but takes a lot of time to compute. The other is less accurate, however, larger size instances can be computed. To confirm the proposed models, several scenarios which have extreme conditions are examined.

Visible-light irradiation of MeCN solution containing di(hydroxo)metallo(tetraphenyl)porphyrin complex $(tppM(OH)_2$: 1a; $M=Sb(V)^+Br^-$, 1b; $M=P(V)^+Cl^-$, 1c; M=Ge(IV)) and 2-mercaptoethanol (2-ME) as a substrate under aerated condition gave bis(2-hydroxyethyl)disulfide (2-HEDS) as an oxidative product of 2-ME. It is indicated that the oxidation of 2-ME should proceed with a photocatalytic process by 1, because the turn over number (TON) for the formation of 2-HEDS was over unit. The TON was determined to be 642 as a maximum value when 1a was used as a sensitizer. The formation of 2-HDES was extremely slow under argon atmosphere. The fluorescence of 1 was not quenched by 2-ME at all, and the free energy change (${\Delta}G$) with electron transfer (ET) from 2-ME to excited triplet state of $1(^31^*)$ was estimated as a negative value. The quenching rate constant ($k_r$) of $^31^*$ by 2-ME, obtained by the kinetics for the formation of 2-HEDS, strongly depends on ${\Delta}G$. These findings indicate that 1-sensitized oxidation was initiated by photoinduced ET from 2-ME to $^31^*$ to generate both radical cation of 2-ME ($2-ME^{+\bulle}$) and porphyrin radical anion ($1^{-\bulle}$), resulting that the formation of 2-HEDS can be proceeded by the dimerization of $2-ME^{+\bulle}$, and through a catalytic cycle due to returning to 1 by the ET from $1^{-\bulle}$ to molecular oxygen.

Structural health monitoring of steel truss bridge based on changes in modal properties was investigated in this study. Vibration measurements with five sensors were conducted at an existing Warren truss bridge with partial fractures in diagonal members before and after an emergency repair work. Modal properties identified by the Eigensystem Realization Algorithm showed evidences of increases in modal damping due to the damage in diagonal member. In order to understand the dynamic behavior of the bridge and possible mechanism of those increases in modal damping, theoretical modal analysis was conducted with three dimensional frame models. It was found that vibrations of the main truss could be coupled internally with local vibrations of diagonal members and the degree of coupling could change with structural changes in diagonal members. Additional vibration measurements with fifteen sensors were then conducted so as to understand the consistency of those theoretical findings with the actual dynamic behavior. Modal properties experimentally identified showed that the damping change caused by the damage in diagonal member described above could have occurred in a diagonal-coupled mode. The results in this study imply that damages in diagonal members could be detected from changes in modal damping of diagonal-coupled modes.

L-theanine is a unique amino acid, found almost solely in tea plants. It is the main component responsible for the exotic taste of green tea. In our studies of L-theanine, we have found a variety of biological activities including relaxation and the alleviation of PMS.
In general, animals generate very weak electric pulses on the surface of the brain, called brain waves. Brain waves are classified into four types, namely α, β, δ and θ-waves, based on their frequency. Brain waves correlate with individual mental conditions. For example, generation of α-waves is considered an index of relaxation. In human volunteers, a-waves were generated on the occipital and parietal regions of the brain surface within 40 minutes after the oral administration of 50 or 200 ㎎ Suntheanine™ without causing drowsiness.
Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) is a symptom unique to women which appears in the luteal phase from the ovulation period through the first day of menstruation. It possesses characteristics of having a peak just prior to menstruation and disappearing 1 - 2 days following the start of menstruation. Symptoms of PMS are generally categorized as mental, physical and social symptoms. When comparing the reported Symptoms of PMS by the methods of MDQ score, the Suntheanine™ group was found to have a lower incidence of PMS symptoms, including physical, mental and social symptoms. Overall, a significant alleviation of PMS symptoms by the administration of 200 ㎎ Suntheanine™ was observed.
With the successful industrial production of L-theanine, we are now able to supply Suntheanine™, offering a tremendous opportunity for designing functional foods targeting relaxation and the alleviation of PMS.

In a DES-like cryptosystem, the S(ubstitution) boxes determine its cryptographic strength as well as its nonlinearity. When in an S box a part of the output depends on a part of the input. It can be broken by the chosen plaintext attack. To prevent this attack, every output bit should changes with a probability of one half when ever a single input bit is complemented. We call this criterion Strict Avalanche criterion(SAC), which was proposed by Webster and Tavared. In this paper, we propose simple construction method of Boolean functions satisfying the SAC and bijective functions satisfying the maximum order SAC in order to design cryptographically desirable S-boxes. Also, practical construction examples of S-boxes are provided.
