        SIMPLE SYNTHESIS OF UNIFORM α-Fe2O3 MICROSPHERES WITH EXCELLENT PHOTOCATALYTIC PERFORMANCE USING POLY (N-VINYL-2-PYRROLIDONE)

        In this paper, a new simple approach has been developed for the preparation of α-Fe2O3 microspheres by a facile hydrothermal method using PVP as a surfactant. Uniform α-Fe2O3 microspheres could be routinely synthesized through solvothermal approach by controlling the PVP/FeCl3⋅6H2O ratio. The as-obtained α-Fe2O3 microspheres exhibit high efficiency on the decolorization of RhB aqueous solution in the presence of H2O2 at room temperature.

        A Method for Tree Image Segmentation Combined Adaptive Mean Shifting with Image Abstraction

        Although huge progress has been made in current image segmentation work, there are still no efficient segmentation strategies for tree image which is taken from natural environment and contains complex background. To improve those problems, we propose a method for tree image segmentation combining adaptive mean shifting with image abstraction. Our approach perform better than others because it focuses mainly on the background of image and characteristics of the tree itself. First, we abstract the original tree image using bilateral filtering and image pyramid from multiple perspectives, which can reduce the influence of the background and tree canopy gaps on clustering. Spatial location and gray scale features are obtained by step detection and the insertion rule method, respectively. Bandwidths calculated by spatial location and gray scale features are then used to determine the size of the Gaussian kernel function and in the mean shift clustering. Furthermore, the flood fill method is employed to fill the results of clustering and highlight the region of interest. To prove the effectiveness of tree image abstractions on image clustering, we compared different abstraction levels and achieved the optimal clustering results. For our algorithm, the average segmentation accuracy (SA), over-segmentation rate (OR), and under-segmentation rate (UR) of the crown are 91.21%, 3.54%, and 9.85%, respectively. The average values of the trunk are 92.78%, 8.16%, and 7.93%, respectively. Comparing the results of our method experimentally with other popular tree image segmentation methods, our segmentation method get rid of human interaction and shows higher SA. Meanwhile, this work shows a promising application prospect on visual reconstruction and factors measurement of tree.

        Effects of different culture systems on the culture of buffalo (Bubalus bubalis) spermatogonia stem cell-like cells in vitro

        Currently, the systems for culturing buffalo spermatogonial stem cells (SSCs) in vitro are varied, and their effects are still inconclusive. In this study, we compared the effects of culture systems with undefined (foetal bovine serum) and defined (KnockOut Serum Replacement) materials on the in vitro culture of buffalo SSC-like cells. Significantly more DDX4- and UCHL1-positive cells (cultured for 2 days at passage 2) were observed in the defined materials culture system than in the undefined materials system (p < 0.01), and these cells were maintained for a longer period than those in the culture system with undefined materials (10 days vs. 6 days). Furthermore, NANOS2 (p < 0.05), DDX4 (p < 0.01) and UCHL1 (p < 0.05) were expressed at significantly higher levels in the culture system with defined materials than in that with undefined materials. Induction with retinoic acid was used to verify that the cultured cells maintained SSC characteristics, revealing an SCP3+ subset in the cells cultured in the defined materials system. The expression levels of Stra8 (p < 0.05) and Rec8 (p < 0.01) were significantly increased, and the expression levels of ZBTB16 (p < 0.01) and DDX4 (p < 0.05) were significantly decreased. These findings provided a clearer research platform for exploring the mechanism of buffalo SSCs in vitro.

        Whole Cell-mediated Biocatalytic Synthesis of Helicid Cinnamylate and Its Biological Evaluation as a Novel Tyrosinase Inhibitor

        Tyrosinase inhibitors are clinically effective for treating some dermatological disorders related to melanin hyperpigmentation. Accordingly, the discovery and development of tyrosinase inhibitors have great value in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industry. Here, a novel tyrosinase inhibitor, 6′-O-cinnamoyl-helicid (helicid cinnamylate) was successfully synthesized by a simple and effective biocatalytic approach with Aspergillus oryzae cells. Investigation of the effects of several key variables on helicid cinnamylate synthesis found that the reaction conversion, reaction rate and regioselectivity reached 99%, 9.40 mM/h and > 99%, respectively, at the optimal conditions with anhydrous acetone as the solvent, whole-cell concentration of 40 mg/mL, and the molar ratio of vinyl cinnamate to helicid of 10 at 45°C. The whole-cells retained 68.87% of its initial activity after reusing for seven batches, indicating a potent application potential in non-aqueous biocatalytic systems. It was worth noting that helicid cinnamylate demonstrated a more potent tyrosinase inhibitory activity with an IC50 value of 3.55 mM than helicid (IC50 = 4.48 mM) and arbutin (IC50 = 5.48 mM), which suggest that helicid cinnamylate could be developed as a more potential tyrosinase inhibitor. In conclusion, this study provides a novel whole-cell catalytic approach for the synthesis of helicid cinnamylate and insight into its application as a tyrosinase inhibitor.

      • Imbalanced Data Classification Based on AdaBoost-SVM

        The classification of imbalanced data is one of the most challenging problems in data mining and machine learning research. Imbalanced dataset is a form that exists in reality area, which describes truly and objectively the essential characters of something. There will appear paucity of data and flooded in the classification of imbalanced dataset. Beside problems such as loss of information and data splitting phenomenon will also appear when using the traditional machine learning methods. So how to solve the classification problem of imbalanced data will be challenging. In this paper, aiming at the above problems, a classification algorithm based on AdaBoost-SVM is proposed. In the experiments with four typical forms of imbalanced data sets in UCI were validated the effectiveness of this strategy.

        Framing city image: A content analysis of Chinese city image construction on Korean press

        With Wenhai big data SaaS cloud platform.2.0, this study analyzed data of 135 news reports relating to Chinese city Chongqing from Yonhap News Agency and ten South Korean mainstream newspapers from May 1st, 2018 to September 30th, 2022. Under the framework of Frame Theory, this research conducted data mining and analysis on how Korean mainstream media shaped city image of Chongqing, what kind of city images were shaped from dimensions of politics, economy, society, culture & sports as well as tourism and whether they are consistent with those in Chinese media. At the last part, discussions and suggestions was made.

        The Influence of Rapid Thermal Annealing Processed Metal-Semiconductor Contact on Plasmonic Waveguide Under Electrical Pumping

        The influence of Au/Ni-based contact formed on a lightly-doped (7.3×1017cm-3, Zn-doped) InGaAsP layerfor electrical compensation of surface plasmon polariton (SPP) propagation under various rapid thermalannealing (RTA) conditions has been studied. The active control of SPP propagation is realized byelectrically pumping the InGaAsP multiple quantum wells (MQWs) beneath the metal planar waveguide. The metal planar film acts as the electric contact layer and SPP waveguide, simultaneously. The RTAprocess can lower the metal-semiconductor electric contact resistance. Nevertheless, it inevitably increasesthe contact interface morphological roughness, which is detrimental to SPP propagation. Based on thisdilemma, in this work we focus on studying the influence of RTA conditions on electrical control of SPPs. The experimental results indicate that there is obvious degradation of electrical pumping compensationfor SPP propagation loss in the devices annealed at 400oC compared to those with no annealing treatment. With increasing annealing duration time, more significant degradation of the active performance is observedeven under sufficient current injection. When the annealing temperature is set at 400oC and the durationtime approaches 60s, the SPP propagation is nearly no longer supported as the waveguide surfacemorphology is severely changed. It seems that eutectic mixture stemming from the RTA process significantlyincreases the metal film roughness and interferes with the SPP signal propagation.

        A Research on Korea's National Image Framing in the People's Daily (2009-2019): Under the Frame of CDA

        Since 2008, strategic partnerships have been established between China and Korea. From 2009 to 2019, the bilateral relationship kept a generally stable rate of development with conflicts and uncertainties. It is necessary to study national image construction in the respective mainstream media of the two countries. The present study analyzed Korea-related reports (N = 744) in the People's Daily from 2009 to 2019, aiming to examine the Korean national image framing under Fairclough's three-dimensional Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) framework: "whatness," "how," and "whyness." The results shed light on what the Korean national image in the People's Daily was and how and why it was framed in that way. This study provided some implications for readers to further recognize the role that media play in constructing a particular image of one country and a frame for researchers to study foreign national image framing in one of China's mainstream newspapers.

        An Effect of Conformity Psychology on the Advertisement Effectiveness

        It is usually that some people who did not plan to buy anything walk into e-mart, but walk out with something in hands. Obviously, these people were stimulated and the result is purchasing something maybe are not really needed. As a consumer, sometimes we are interested in what somebody else is using, and sometimes we cannot help trying a kind of new drink when we found many of people around are drinking it. In this paper, conformity psychology’s effect in the advertisement will be checked in the hope of helping improve the advertisement effectiveness.

        A Study on the Relationship between MMORPG and On/off-line Socialization of International Students

        This study examined the relationship between MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role-playing game) playing and the socialization of international students in the context of socialization tactics theory. A total of 246 Chinese students from 10 universities in South Korea participated in the online survey. The results of this study revealed that games providing an institutional gaming environment can improve gamers’ online socialization. This finding implies that MMORPG can be used to improve international students’ on/off-line socialization.
