        Parametric Design for Proportional Plus Double Integral Controller with Applications to Tracking Control in Space Optical Communication

        A complete parametric design approach is developed for a type of proportional plus double integral (P2I) controller. The proposed control law guarantees that the closed-loop system has the desired eigenstructure, and the output asymptotically tracks the ramp-type reference signal in the presence of ramp-type external disturbances. The proposed method is superior to the existing results in that it provides all degrees of freedom in design, which are further used to suppress the effects of other complicated time-varying disturbances and parameter perturbations by minimizing certain performance indices. The proposed method is applied to the high accuracy tracking control system design for satellite optical communication. Simulation results verify the superiority of the proposed method over the traditional proportional-integral (PI) controller.

Firstly, based on the Separation Principle of Eigenstructures proven in this paper, a complete parametric expression of the control law is obtained by parameterizing the statefeedback P2I control law and the reduced-order observer separately. The control law guarantees that the closed-loop system possesses desired eigenstructures, and the output asymptotically tracks a given ramp-type reference signal in the presence of ramp-type disturbances. All design degrees of freedom are obtained, which can be used to further achieve better performance by optimizing the parameters. Secondly, in order to enhance the robustness to other types of disturbances and parameter perturbations, two performance indices are parameterized, namely, the disturbance attenuation index and the eigenvalue sensitivity index, the latter is derived by using the obtained Separation Principle of Eigenvalue Sensitivities. Finally, the application to the high accuracy tracking control system design for satellite optical communication is presented, which well verifies the effect and the superiority of the proposed method.         A general structural design methodology for multi-hole orifices and its experimental application

        Compared to single-hole orifices (SOs), multi-hole orifices (MOs) have smaller orifice sizes and various patterns of orifice distribution. The geometric description of MOs is more complex, increasing the difficulty of MO structural design. Therefore, it is worthwhile to investigate the key factors affecting MO throttle or flow control characteristics and to develop a general MO design method. This work presents a practical geometric design methodology for MOs and applies this procedure in throttle experiments. To describe the MO geometry in detail, the methodology first introduces a comprehensive set of geometric architectures involving orifice arrangement criteria and geometric parameters such as the total orifice number, n; the orifice distribution density, Dd; and the equivalent diameter ratio, EDR. Then, a series of throttle tests in water flow are conducted to investigate the effect of various geometric features on the pressure loss characteristics of MOs. Finally, a simple model to calculate the pressure loss coefficient of MOs is presented.

        융합 인덱싱 방법에 의한 조인 쿼리 성능 최적화

        RDF(Resource Description Framework) 데이터 구조는 그래프로 모델링하기 때문에, 관계형 데이터베이스와 XML 기술의 기존 솔루션은 RDF 모델에 바로 적용하기 어렵다. 우리는 링크 데이터를 더욱 효과적으로 저장하고, 인덱스하고, 검색하기 위해 융합 인덱싱 방법을 제안한다. 이 방법은 HDD(Hard Disk Drive) 와 SSD(Solid State Drive) 디바이스에 기반한 하이브리드 스토리지 시스템을 사용하고, 불필요한 데이터를 필터 하고 중간 결과를 정제하기 위해 분리된 필터 및 정제 인덱스 구조를 사용한다. 우리는 3개의 표준 조인 검색 알고리즘에 대한 성능 비교를 수행했는데, 실험 결과 제안된 방법이 Quad와 Darq와 같은 다른 기존 방법들에 비해 뛰어난 성능을 보인다. Since RDF (Resource Description Framework) triples are modeled as graph, we cannot directly adopt existing solutions in relational databases and XML technology. In order to store, index, and query Linked Data more efficiently, we propose a convergence indexing method combined R*-tree and K-dimensional trees. This method uses a hybrid storage system based on HDD (Hard Disk Drive) and SSD (Solid State Drive) devices, and a separated filter and refinement index structure to filter unnecessary data and further refine the immediate result. We perform performance comparisons based on three standard join retrieval algorithms. The experimental results demonstrate that our method has achieved remarkable performance compared to other existing methods such as Quad and Darq.

        Hepatotoxic mechanism of diclofenac sodium on broiler chicken revealed by iTRAQ-based proteomics analysis

        Background: At the therapeutic doses, diclofenac sodium (DFS) has few toxic side effects on mammals. On the other hand, DFS exhibits potent toxicity against birds and the mechanisms remain ambiguous. Objectives: This paper was designed to probe the toxicity of DFS exposure on the hepatic proteome of broiler chickens. Methods: Twenty 30-day-old broiler chickens were randomized evenly into two groups (n = 10). DFS was administered orally at 10 mg/kg body weight in group A, while the chickens in group B were perfused with saline as a control. Histopathological observations, serum biochemical examinations, and quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction were performed to assess the liver injury induced by DFS. Proteomics analysis of the liver samples was conducted using isobaric tags for relative and absolute quantification (iTRAQ) technology. Results: Ultimately, 201 differentially expressed proteins (DEPs) were obtained, of which 47 were up regulated, and 154 were down regulated. The Gene Ontology classification and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes pathway analysis were conducted to screen target DEPs associated with DFS hepatotoxicity. The regulatory relationships between DEPs and signaling pathways were embodied via a protein-protein interaction network. The results showed that the DEPs enriched in multiple pathways, which might be related to the hepatotoxicity of DFS, were “protein processing in endoplasmic reticulum,” “retinol metabolism,” and “glycine, serine, and threonine metabolism.” Conclusions: The hepatotoxicity of DFS on broiler chickens might be achieved by inducing the apoptosis of hepatocytes and affecting the metabolism of retinol and purine. The present study could provide molecular insights into the hepatotoxicity of DFS on broiler chickens.

        Complete Parametric Solutions to the Fundamental Problem in High-order Fully Actuated System Approach

        The high-order fully actuated system (HOFAS) approach has recently been proposed, aiming at establishing a unified architecture for control of general nonlinear systems. Its core idea is to firstly obtain a HOFAS model for a dynamical system, and then to cancel the nonlinearity using the full-actuation property. Based on this, the control problem of both linear and many types of nonlinear systems is finally turned into a specific eigenstructure assignment problem of a particular matrix pair. Because of this, the specific eigenstructure assignment problem is considered as the fundamental problem of the HOFAS approach, and is investigated in detail in this paper. A general parametric solution is established in an iterative form with all the degrees of freedom provided, and special solutions for some commonly used cases are also given. These form a database for various design problems and provide some ready-to-use results. Finally, illustrative examples demonstrate the usage of the database.

        Ratio of PM2.5 to PM10 Mass Concentrations in Beijing and Relationships with Pollution from the North China Plain

        Five years of PM2.5/PM10 ratios and their potential relationships with wind and relative humidity (RH) were analyzed for three areas in Beijing (northwestern mountainous area, urban area and southern suburbs), and these values were compared with those of five other cities, including Tianjin, Dalian, Hangzhou, Shanghai and Guangzhou. In the past five years, both PM2.5 and PM10 mass concentrations have decreased over the three Beijing regions, particularly during winters. The PM2.5/PM10 ratios have distinct seasonal characteristics, with more frequent high ratios in winter than in other seasons. The high ratio frequency decrease is most evident in winter and in the southern Beijing suburbs. This fine particle proportion decrease is related to air pollution control policies, including the national project ‘Coal to Gas’. HighPM2.5/PM10 ratios are linked to heavy pollution levels and low wind speeds, indicating the importance of PM2.5 accumulation during pollution events in Beijing. The higher PM2.5/PM10 ratios in Beijing are also closely related to southerly winds and high humidity, indicating the contribution of anthropogenic pollution transported from the south. Due to similar geographic environments, Tianjin is similar to Beijing in terms of the frequency distribution characteristics of the PM2.5/PM10 ratios. The coastal city of Dalian is further north and not similar to Beijing or Tianjin, owing to a sea breeze influence. Different from Beijing and Tianjin, the southern cities of Hangzhou, Shanghai and Guangzhou show almost no change in the PM2.5/PM10 ratio frequency distribution with increases in wind speed and relative humidity.
