This study presents a newly developed approach for visualization of Pareto and quasi-Pareto solutions of a multiobjective design problem for the heat piping system in an artificial satellite. Given conflicting objective functions, multiobjective optimization requires both a search algorithm to find optimal solutions and a decision-making process for finalizing a design solution. This type of multiobjective optimization problem may easily induce equally optimized multple solutions such as Pareto solutions, quasi-Pareto solutions, and feasible solutions. Here, a multidimensional visualization and clustering technique is used for visualization of Pareto solutions. The proposed approach can support engineering decisions in the design of the heat piping system in artificial satellites. Design considerations for heat piping system need to simultaneously satisfy dual conditions such as thermal robustness and overall limitation of the total weight of the system. The proposed visualization and clustering technique can be a valuable design tool for the heat piping system, in which reliable decision-making has been frequently hindered by the conflicting nature of objective functions in conventional approaches.
Early Disease Detection of Bacterial Leaf Blight on Rice Plant by using Hyperspectral Imaging

In Southeast Asia, bacterial leaf blight (BLB) is one of the significant rice diseases that potentially causes productivity loss up to 50%. The early stage disease detection contributes to prevent the serious crop damage due to the disease outbreak. The hyperspectral imaging provides an extension of our vision by capturing the near infrared (NIR) region at 700-1000 nm which is the outside of visible light (VIS) region at 400-700 nm. In this study, the possibility of early stage disease detection method of BLB on rice plant was investigated in captured hyperspectral images with 40-50 cm from the top of rice plant. For early disease setting, the hyperspectral images for both the healthy and infected single leaf of the rice plants, both were taken from 2 days post-inoculation when the symptom had not been shown yet. The possible sensitive bands were explored from VIS to NIR and chosen by applying the principal component analysis (PCA) on reflectance value of the healthy and infected leaves using 400-850 nm. The PCA result provided that there several ranges of wavelength have high correlation with the disease development on early stage and found that the ratio of orange-red color (605-640 nm) and red edge (690-720 nm) has the highest possibility to detect the BLB.
A Feedback Control for a Feel Regeneration System with Linear Slider

In this paper, we present the feel regeneration system that uses a linear motor, and propose the feedback control system based on disturbance observer for generating the reaction force from object things. The proposed feel regeneration system consists of the linear slider and the sensing stage that is connected with the base by spring elements. In addition, we can get optical reactive force by controlling the stretch of the spring, which is a cause of producing the reactive force, and we recognize it as a feeling. In particular, the feel that the stage moves without adding the power, i.e., the regeneration of a feeling of the friction-less is the base technology of such a system, and we call this feeling the one like pushing air. The feedback controller realizes this friction-less feeling with the use of disturbance observer, which is proposed in order to estimate and cancel the friction force. The proposed control algorism and the system are experimentally verified by results of simulation.

두 변이 단순지지된 역대칭 cross-ply 다층판의 자유진동에 대하여 Yang, Norris, Stavsky의 YNS 이론을 이용하여, 다층판의 자유진동해석과 변형에너지 해석을 하였다. 다층판의 운동방정식은 선점법을 이용하여 해석하였고, 탄성계수비와 적층수가 고유진동수에 미치는 영향을 검토하였다. 또한 변형에너지 분포해석을 이용하여 다층판의 진동특성을 명확히 규명하였다. A powerful analytical procedure and strain energy analysis to investigate the free vibration of antisymmetric cross-ply laminated plates, having one pair of opposite edges simply supported, are develped on the basis of the Yang, Norris abd Stavsky (YSN) theory. The equation of motion of the plate are solved by the use of collation method. A range of results are presented for plates to show the effects of modulus ratio and number of layers on natural frequency. In addition, an analysis of the strain energy distributions is used as an aid for the better understanding of the vibration characteristics of the plates.

Background/Aims: Anti-tumor necrosis factor drugs (anti-TNF) and thiopurines are important treatment options in patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), including during pregnancy. However, there are limited data on the benefit/risk profile of anti-TNF and thiopurines during pregnancy in Asia. The aim of this study was to analyze pregnancy outcomes of female Japanese IBD patients treated with anti-TNF and/or thiopurines. Methods: This cross-sectional study assessed pregnancy outcomes in 72 women with IBD. Pregnancy outcomes were compared among 31 pregnancies without exposure to infliximab (IFX), adalimumab (ADA), or thiopurines; 24 pregnancies with exposure to anti-TNF treatment (23 IFX, 1 ADA); 7 pregnancies with exposure to thiopurines alone; and 10 pregnancies with exposure to both IFX and thiopurines. Results: Thirty-five of the 41 pregnancies (85.3%) that were exposed to anti-TNF treatment and/or thiopurines resulted in live births after a median gestational period of 38 weeks. Of the 35 live births, 3 involved premature deliveries; 7, low birth weight; and 1, a congenital abnormality. There were 6 spontaneous abortions in pregnancies that were exposed to anti-TNF treatment (17.7%). Pregnancy outcomes among the 4 groups were similar, except for the rate of spontaneous abortions (P =0.037). Conclusions: Exposure to anti-TNF treatment or thiopurines during pregnancy was not related to a higher incidence of adverse pregnancy outcomes in Japanese IBD patients except for spontaneous abortion.
