한국어 고급 학습자의 북한 및 통일에 대한 인식 조사

        김태연 ( Kim¸ Tae Yeon ) 국제한국어교육학회 2021 한국어 교육 Vol.32 No.4

The purpose of this study is to investigate the perception of South Korea and North Korea, North Korean defectors, reunification and the requirements for education related to South Korea and North Korea topics for advanced Korean learners, and to examine the applicable methods and directions for Korean culture education. This study conducted a preliminary survey on level 5 learners of advanced Korean language, and based on this, an in-depth survey was conducted on 34 advanced learners of level 5 and 6 students. In addition, five study participants of different nationalities were selected and conducted 1:1 in-depth interviews. First, as a result of examining the image of North Korea and North Korean people, the learners perceived the North Korean government negatively, but had a sympathetic image of North Koreans, unlike their perception of the North Korean government. Second, as a result of examining the perception of North Korea in the learner’s country and their family’s reaction to them studying in South Korea, there was a tendency to perceive North Korea as a threat and a country with serious human rights issues, but there were both positive and negative responses to the learner’s studying in South Korea. Third, for questions asking about their perception of the reunification of South Korea and North Korea, the learners answered that they wished for the reunification of South Korea and North Korea but that it would be difficult to actually achieve. Fourth, as a result of the following survey on the demand for education related to North Korea and reunification, it was found that learners are willing to participate in classes, special lectures, and programs dealing with South Korea and North Korea-related topics. By taking a new approach to topics related to South Korea and North Korea, which have not been highlighted in the field of research and education, it was found that the areas of interest of advanced learners can be expanded to North Korean society, culture, and language. This is expected to motivate learners and inspire learning, as well as help open classes and special lectures, and develop textbooks. (Seoul National University of Science and Technology)

Human Resource Management, Organizational Performance, and Publicness: The Case of Korean Higher Educational Institutions

Taeyeon Kim 서울대학교행정대학원 2016 Journal of Policy Studies Vol.31 No.2

This study investigates the relationship between human resource management and organizational performance using a dataset of 155 universities in Korea. It also examines the moderating effect of publicness measured by ownership (whether it is a public or private university) on the relationship of human resource management and performance. The results show that there is a positive relationship between the efforts of top managers to improve human resource management and one of the two research performance indicators examined in this study. Also, the moderating effects of publicness on the relationship between human resource management and performance are clearly shown in the analysis of both research performance indicators, which means that human resource management in public universities is more conducive to research performance than in private universities. The findings of the present study imply a linear linkage between human resource management and organizational performance and the moderating role of publicness in the management-performance linkage

      • S-507 Clinical aspects related with peritonitis and mortality in peritoneal dialysis patients

        ( Taeyeon Hwang ),( Jihyun Yang ),( Won-yong Cho ),( Sang-kyung Jo ),( Myung-gyu Kim ),( Young Ju Na ),( Sung Yoon Lim ) 대한내과학회 2016 대한내과학회 추계학술대회 Vol.2016 No.1

Introduction: Peritonitis is still the most common complication in patients undergoing peritoneal dialysis (PD). It is one of the major causes for technical failure of PD. The purpose of this study is to reveal risk factors for PD related peritonitis and to analyze the various predictive risk factors for mortality.?Methods: This is a retrospective cohort study of PD patient in Korea university anam hospital wherein total 640 patients were observed from March 2002 to March 2015. They were under PD at least 3 months and their medical records and laboratory findings were reviewed. This study was approved by Korea university institute of review board (ED 15124).?Results: Mean follow up period was 66.4 months, wherein 247 patient experienced peritonitis at least once. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression test were used and it was found that decreased residual renal function was considered as a risk factor for PD peritonitis (p=0.01, RR 0.53, 95% CI 0.31-0.88). Patients who experienced PD peritonitis more than once converted to hemodialysis more (17.1% vs 22.2%, p=0.02), received kidney transplantation less (18.7% vs 10%, p=0.02). Advanced dialysis initiation age (DIA) (p=0.03, RR 1.14, 95% CI 1.01-1.3) and low initial KT/V (p=0.03, RR=0.11, 95% CI 0.017-0.823) were considered as risk factors for relapsing or recurrent peritonitis. At the time of dialysis initiation, patients with advanced DIA (p=0.03, RR 1.14, CI 1.007-1.305), high CRP(p=0.019, RR 1.005, CI 1.001-1.009), high BMI(p=0.035, RR=1.067, CI 1.01-1.13), low albumin(p=0.001, RR 0.537, CI 0.37-0.78), high serum calcium level(p=0.004, RR 1.406, CI 1.12-1.77) were considered as significant mortality predictors in Cox-regression analysis.?Conclusions: Decreased residual renal function was a risk factor for PD peritonitis. Advanced DIA and low initial KT/V were risk factors for relapsing or recurrent peritonitis. At the time of dialysis initiation, old age, high BMI and high CRP, low albumin and high serum calcium were related to mortality in PD patients.

      • A Case of Ovarian Torsion in a 11 year-old girl With Delayed Diagnosis Leading to An Emergency Right Salphingo-oophorectomy

( Taeyeon Kim ),( Dongheon Lee ),( Jong Yun Hwang ),( Sunghun Na ),( Tae Gyu Ahn ),( Hyang Ah Lee ) 대한산부인과학회 2018 대한산부인과학회 학술대회 Vol.104 No.-

Ovarian torsion in children is an uncommon cause of acute abdominal pain, but mandates early surgical management to prevent further adnexal damage. Its clinical presentation mimics other pathologies, such as acute gastroenteritis (AGE), acute appendicitis, so getting a correct diagnosis is quite difficult. This report described a huge ovarian cyst torsion with delayed diagnosis. A 11 year-old pre-menarchal girl presented to the Emergency Department with 1 day of abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting. She reported similar episodes over the previous 6 months. She visited pediatricians twice for abdominal pain episodes, and they considered her problem as the AGE every visit. Finally she visited us and we performed transabdominal ultrasound of the pelvis and it revealed her left ovarian mass measured 9.5 7.0 cm with heterogenous echogenic pattern. She immediately underwent a contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CT) scan of the abdomen and pelvis, which revealed a large ovarian hemorrhagic cyst measured 80x100 mm and was predominantly occupying the whole mid and lower abdomen. Tumor markers such as CA125, CEA, -FP, HCG were within normal range. Based on these findings, we suspected the ovarian tumor and emergency surgery was performed. On laparoscopy, the right ovary and fallopian tube was shown as twisted 2 times 720 counterclockwise, and swollen with necrosis. If the correct diagnosis was gotten on time, her jeopardized ovary might be saved. However, ovarian torsion is easy to be neglected as a cause of abdominal pain in children. So, We should keep in mind that the ovarian torsion is an emergency disease and could occur even in children.

      • Stakeholder analysis for Olympic Games 2018

        ( Taeyeon Oh ),( Kisung Kwon ) 한국체육학회 2016 국제스포츠과학 학술대회 Vol.2016 No.1

Purpose: This study has the objective in finding and defining stakeholders related to winter Olympic Games hosted in Pyeong Chang 2018. In addition, we tried to clarify relationship between stakeholders in terms of importance, leverage and positioning of each stakeholders. Method: We applied mixed method to clarify our research questions. At first, focus group interview and depth interview are applied to verify stakeholders related to Olympic Games. 12 experts of sporting event such as industrial experts, public officers, professors and officers of Pyeong Chang Olympic Games Organizing Committee (POCOG) are participated in focus group interview. After FGI, we deduced stakeholders and interviewed with staff of each stakeholder to verify our results. Second, we collected data from survey on POCOG and provincial office of Gangwon by asking the importance, leverage and similarity of each stakeholders. Stakeholder analysis suggested by Schmeer (1999) and multidimensional scaling (MDS) are applied to clarify our second research question. Result: We can conclude that there are eight stakeholders related to Olympic Games by result of qualitative research. These are national Olympic committee (NOC) of sports, international Olympic committee (IOC), central government (CG), provincial government (PG), citizens and their representative NGOs (NGO), sponsors (SP), media (MD) and organizing committee (OC). Importance of stakeholders are ordered as OC, SP, CG, MD, IOC, NGO, PG and NOC while influence are deduced by order as MD, CG, OC, SP, IOC, PG, NGO and NOC. Positioning map from the result of MDS shows that IOC, SP and MD are similar and the other stakeholders are different from each other. OC looks centered of each stakeholders and PG has opposite site of IOC, SP and MD. NOC is located in independent position with other stakeholders. Conclusion: We found that stakeholders related to Winter Olympic Games and analyze their importance, influence and position. This results shows the perception of relationship in stakeholders among experts in sport event. We can find that OC, SP, CG, MD and IOC is crucial part for Olympic while NOC, NGO and PG are regarded as circumstantial stakeholders. These perceptions causes social and environmental problems of Olympic Games. Also staffs of Olympic Games treated media, sponsor and IOC as a similar stakeholders and try to separate local citizens and local public sectors. These perceptions are seemed the reason of disagreement of Olympic preperations.

      • Unveiling the College Choice and Adaptation Processes of Academically Talented Chinese Students Selecting Korean Universities Under the New International Student Recruitment Policy

Taeyeon Tenny Kim 한국교육행정학회 2017 Journal of Educational Administration and Policy Vol.2 No.-

Due to the expansion of globalization and the decrease of students in the school age population, it is important for Korean universities to recruit international students. The number of international degree-seeking students in Korea has increased tremendously over the past two decades due to campaigns such as the ‘Study in Korea 2020’ and individual universities’ promotional activities. However, the quality of these international students’ academic achievements has not been explored thus far, nor has there been analysis of the methods focused on recruiting academically high achieving students. In this study, I explore the characteristics of academically talented Chinese students (ATCS) and how to best recruit them. Chinese students make up the highest proportion of international degree-seeking students in Korea. According to interviewed ATCS, several factors influenced their decision-making processes when they selected their study destination and as they adapted to an unfamiliar environment. When selecting a study destination, emotional reasons had higher influence than rational reasons. Expectations for academic achievement, desire to be different from others, and personal preference were key reasons for selecting a study destination, which contrasted from those reported by Chinese students in previous research. During their adaptation process, academic adaptation occurred prior to social or cultural adaptation. ATCS considered academic achievements more important than making friends. Their academic achievements naturally led to social acceptance by Koreans as they earned their respect. All the interviewees emphasized the importance of their relationships with their academic advisors, which helped them adapt to Korea and their study environment. Lastly, students who spoke Korean adapted faster and easier.

      • Customer Concentration and Firm Risk : The Role of Outside Directors from Customers

        Taeyeon Kim,Hyun-Dong Kim,Kwangwoo Park 한국재무학회 2022 한국재무학회 학술대회 Vol.2022 No.11

This paper examines the role of customer-affiliated outside directors on suppliers in reducing risk arising from customer concentration. Using a sample of US suppliers over the 2001–2016 period, we find that a positive relationship between customer concentration and supplier firm risk is weakened with the presence of customers' representatives at suppliers' board. We further show that supplier firms with customer-affiliated outside directors are more likely to have less conservative financial policies. Our results suggest that customers' board membership at suppliers helps mitigate the customer concentration risk due to the tightened supplier–customer relationship and reduced information asymmetry.
