Currently the evaluation of high school science and mathematics learning has been too much knowledge-centered without concerning the inquiring ability or scientific attitude. This study, therefore, was made for the purpose of establishing of evaluation model for high school science (biology and earth science) and mathematics learning and its evaluation items. In this paper, the research was done about three fields, biology, earth science and mathematics. 1. For the biology, the evaluation methods of inquiry learning were studied with the foreign references, and proper evaluation items were suggested. 2. For the earth science, after analizing 5 kinds of earth science textbook of current using in high school, essential 19 items were selected. 5 of them were tested in test group and control group, then, the results were analized. 3. For the mathematice, the teaching elements of「Set」and「Flow chart」in mathematics (Ⅰ) were selected and structured. Detailed teaching objects were established and evaluation items were introduced.
증례 : 소화기 ; 종격동 기종과 공기후복막증이 발현된 신경성 식욕부진 1예

신경성 식욕부진은 정신과적인 문제뿐만 아니라 여러 계통의 합병증을 유발한다. 월경이상, 혈액학적 이상, 간 기능 이상 등은 흔하게 알려져 있는 합병증이고, 원인은 정확히 알려지지는 않았으나, 신체 내 비정상적인 공기 축적을 보일 수 있는데, 종격동 기종, 피하 공기증, 공기후복막증 등이 나타날 수 있다. 이러한 합병증은 드물게 발생하는 것이라 소화기계의 천공 같은 다른 이차적인 문제는 없는지 확인해 보아야 할 것이다. 저자들은 이차적인 문제없이 신경성식욕부진과 병발된 종격동 기종, 공기후복막증, 피하공기증을 보인 환자 1예를 경험하였기에 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. Since anorexia nervosa is a multi-systemic disorder, as well as a psychiatric disorder, it needs a multidisciplinary approach. It causes many medical problems, including irregular menstruation, hematologic problems, decreased bone density, electrolyte imbalance, and dysrhythmias. Sometimes, this disorder also causes rare, unexpected complications, including abnormal air collections, such as pneumomediastinum, retropneumoperitoneum, or subcutaneous emphysema. The cause of these phenomena is unknown, although fragile parenchymal tissue that is disrupted easily when the local pressure is increased by coughing, vomiting, or defecation is a suggested cause. We experienced a case of anorexia nervosa complicated with abnormal air collections. After we excluded other possible causes, such as perforation of the gastrointestinal tract, and ordered the patient to undergo a short fast and inhale oxygen, the abnormal air collections resolved. We report this case because of its rarity and benign course. (Korean J Med 76:338-342, 2009)

<P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>A single‐walled carbon nanotube rope interconnect is fabricated by utilizing dielectrophoresis and capillary condensation. The rope connects a pair of prefabricated cantilevers with good alignment and outstanding packing density. The diameter and resistance of the rope are readily controlled by adjusting the dielectrophoresis parameters such as applied voltage and frequency. The properties of the rope, including packing density, electron transport, and maximum current density, are investigated. The maximum current density of the rope is measured to be as high as 1 × 10<SUP>7</SUP> A/cm<SUP>2</SUP> in vacuum. </P>

This paper describes design, fabrication, and application of the silicon based temperature controllable micro reactor. In order to achieve fast temperature variation and low energy consumption, reaction chamber of the micro reactor was thermally isolated by etching the highly conductive silicon around the reaction chamber. Compared with the model not having thermally isolated structure, the thermally isolated micro reactor showed enhanced thermal performances such as fast temperature variation and low energy consumption. The performance enhancements of the micro reactor due to etched holes were verified by thermal experiment and numerical analysis. Regarding to 42 percents reduction of the thermal mass achieved by the etched holes, approximately 4 times faster thermal variation and 5 times smaller energy consumption were acquired. The total size of the fabricated micro reactor was 37×30×1 ㎣. Microchannel and reaction chamber were formed on the silicon substrate. The openings of channel and chamber were covered by the glass substrate. The Pt electrodes for heater and sensor are fabricated on the backside of silicon substrate below the reaction chamber. The dimension of channel cross section was 200×100 ㎛². The volume of reaction chamber was 4 ㎕. The temperature of the micro reactor was controlled and measured simultaneously with NI DAQ PCI-MIO-16E-1 board and LabVIEW program. Finally, the fabricated micro reactor and the temperature control system were applied to the thermal denaturation and the trypsin digestion of protein. BSA(bovine serum albumin) was chosen for the test sample. It was successfully shown that BSA was successfully denatured at 75℃ for 1 min and digested by trypsin at 37℃ for 10 min.
Case Report : Optic Disc Atrophy in Patient with Posner-Schlossman Syndrome

A 32-year-old man with blurred vision in the right eye and headache presented with anterior uveitis, an intraocular pressure (IOP) of 60 mmHg, an open angle, no visual field defects, and normal optic nerve. He had a history of five previous similar attacks. In each of the previous instances, his anterior uveitis and high IOP were controlled with antiglaucoma medications and topical steroids. However, at the fifth attack, his optic disc was pale and a superior paracentral visual field defect was shown. Brain magnetic resonance image studies were normal. This case represents that a recurrent Posner-Schlossman syndrome (PSS)-induced optic disc atrophy likely due to ocular ischemia caused by a recurrent, high IOP. Although PSS is a self-limiting syndrome, we should manage high IOP and prevent ischemia of the optic nerve head by treating with ocular antihypertensive medications.

<P>Shear is an effective method to create long-range order in micro- or nanostructured soft materials. When simple shear flow is applied, particles or polymer microdomains tend to align in the shear direction to minimize viscous dissipation; thus, transverse alignment (so-called log-rolling) is not typically favored. This is the first study to report the transverse alignment of cylinder-forming coil coil block copolymers. Poly(styrene-b-methyl methacrylate), PS PMMA, where the PS blocks form the matrix, can adopt a metastable PMMA hemicylindrical structure when confined in a thin film, and this hemicylindrical structure can orient either along the shear direction or transverse to the shear direction depending on the shearing temperature. A monolayer of PS PMMA forming full cylinders exhibits log-rolling alignment.
