        초등 교과교육학의 성격과 내용구조 연구

        이 연구는 교과교육과 교과교육학의관계, 그리고 교과교육학과 교육학의 관계등을 분석하고, 그 결과를 토대로 하여 초등학교 교과교육과 교육대학 교과교육학 교육의 실제를 정확히 이해하고 그 발전 방향을 탐색하기 위한 것이다. 일반적으로, 교과교육학은 교육학에서 제시하고 있는 교육과정의 구성및 교육방법상의 일반 원리를 교과교육이라는 특수한 사태에 적용하는 과정에 관심을 두는 이론으로 간주되고 있다. 이 관점에 의하면, 교과교육학은 교육학의 일반적 원리에 따라 교과교육이라는 특수한 맥락에 처방을 내리기 위한 것으로 파악된다. 이 관점을 교과와 그것을 가르치는 교사의 삶을 사실상 별개의 것으로 분리하는 것이며, 그와 동일한 이유에서 교과교육학과 교과교육학자의 삶 또한 별개의 것임을 전제하는 것이다. 그러나 교과교육과 교과교육학, 그리고 교과교육학과 교육학의 관계는 이론에서 실제로 나아가는 앞의 방향과는 정반대 방향에서도 이해될 수 있다. 이 관점에 의하면, 교과교육학은 교과교육 실제에 처방을 내리기 위한 것이 아니라 그 실제를 기술하고 정당화하기 위한 것으로 파악된다. 교과교육과 교과교육학의 관련이 이렇게 파악될 때, 교과 교육학은 교사나 교과교육학자에게 자신이 지금 하는 일이 자신의 삶과 결코 무관한 것이 아니라는 믿음을 심어 주게 되며, 나아가 그들 자신이 참여하고 있는 초등학교나 교육대학의 교육실제를 기술하거나 정당화하려고 할 때 반드시 필요한 개념적 도구를 제공해 줄 수 있게 된다. 바로 여기에 교과교육학에 관한 종래의 접근과는 구분되는 새로운 접근방식이 요구되는 이유가 있다. The purpose of this study is threefold: The first is to analyse the relations between subject education and subject pedagogy, and between subject pedagogy and general pedagogy. The second is, based on the analysis result, to have the precise understanding of teaching various subjects in the elementary school, and of teaching subject pedagogy in the university of education. The third is to search for the desirable direction of developing the elementary education and the teacher education. Subject pedagogy is usually defined as a theory which is interested in the process of applying pedagogical principles regarding curriculum organization and teaching methods to specific teaching situations, that is, subject education situations. However, this definition has a limitation, because it assumes that a subject and the teacher's life who teaches the subject are separated from each other, and that subject pedagogy and the scholar who studies subject pedagogy are also separated. The relationship between subject teaching and subject pedagogy, and between subject pedagogy and general pedagogy can be understood with quite different viewpoint. This new viewpoint, which is the major discussion matter of this study, assumes that subject pedagogy is never separated from the life of subject teacher/subject pedagogist. This viewpoint will reveal the theoretical features of subject pedagogy better, and give us new meaning on the life of teachers/subject pedagogists. The subject pedagogy in the correct sense should provide teachers/pedagogists with the conceptual instrument based on the new viewpoint. This conceptual instrument will make teachers/pedagogists be able to describe, explain, and validate their own educational practice-such as the content structure of each subject-in the elementary school or the university of education.

        Effects of Kinesio-taping on Balance Abilities and Proprioception Sense

        The purpose of this study was to compare the effects of Kinesio taping in each area of the ankle versus the knee to improve balance abilities and proprioception sense. The healthy twenty eight students were divided into two groups, Group A and B. Ankle taping was applied to Group A, and knee taping was applied to Group B. In the ankle taping group, significant increase of dynamic balance abilities was appeared in the forward, left ward and right ward (p<.05). In the knee taping group, there was significant increase of dynamic balance abilities in the forward and left ward (p<.05). There was no significant increase of static balance abilities in both groups. In both groups of ankle and knee taping, there was significant increase of proprioception sense. These findings suggest that ankle and knee taping was helpful for improving dynamic balance abilities and proprioception sense.

        Pancreatic adenocarcinoma up-regulated factor (PAUF) enhances the expression of ${\beta}$-catenin, leading to a rapid proliferation of pancreatic cells

        It is not yet understood how the enhanced expression of pancreatic adenocarcinoma up-regulated factor (PAUF; a novel oncogene identified in our recent studies), contributes to the oncogenesis of pancreatic cells. We herein report that PAUF up-regulates the expression and transcriptional activity of ${\beta}$-catenin while the suppression of PAUF by shRNA down-regulates ${\beta}$-catenin. The induction of ${\beta}$-catenin by PAUF is mediated by the activities of Akt and GSK-$3{\beta}$, but inhibition of downstream ERK does not reduce ${\beta}$-catenin expression. To test whether PAUF emulates either the Wnt3a-mediated or the protein kinase A-mediated signaling pathway for the stabilization of ${\beta}$-catenin, we examined the phosphorylation status of ${\beta}$-catenin in the presence of PAUF compared with that of ${\beta}$-catenin during treatment with Wnt3a or dibutyryl cAMP, a cell permeable cyclic AMP analogue. PAUF expression induces phosphorylation at Ser-33/37/Thr-41 and Ser-675 of ${\beta}$-catenin but no phosphorylation at Ser-45, indicating that a unique phosphorylation pattern of ${\beta}$-catenin is caused by PAUF. Finally, the expression of PAUF up-regulates both $cyclin-D1$ and $c-Jun$, target genes of ${\beta}$-catenin, leading to a rapid proliferation of pancreatic cells; conversely decreased PAUF expression (by shRNA) results in the reduced proliferation of pancreatic cells. Treatment with hexachlorophene (an inhibitor of ${\beta}$-catenin) reduces the proliferation of pancreatic cells despite the presence of PAUF. Taken together, we propose that PAUF can up-regulate and stabilize ${\beta}$-catenin $via$ a novel pattern of phosphorylation, thereby contributing to the rapid proliferation of pancreatic cancer cells.

      • Dendritic cells and M2 macrophage play an important role in suppression of Th2-mediated inflammation by adipose stem cells-derived extracellular vesicles

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Although stem cell-derived extracellular vesicles (EVs) have been shown to facilitate regeneration of injured tissue, there is no report that evaluates the immune-modulating effect of stem cell-derived EVs on Th2-mediated inflammation. In this study, we evaluated the immunomodulatory effects of adipose stem cells (ASCs)-derived EVs on Th2-mediated inflammation induced by <I>Aspergillus</I> protease antigen in lung epithelial cells. The EVs were isolated from supernatant of ASCs and the diameters of EVs were measured by using dynamic light scattering. The mice primary lung epithelial cells and mouse lung epithelial cell line (MLE12) were pre-treated with 200 ng/ml of <I>Aspergillus</I> protease and then treated with 1 μg/ml of ASC-derived EVs. Real time PCR was performed to determine the expression levels of eotaxin, IL-25, TGF-β, and IL-10 mRNAs after EV treatment. To evaluate the role of EVs in macrophage polarization and dendritic cells (DCs) differentiation, <I>in vitro</I> bone marrow-derived macrophage and DCs stimulation assay was performed. EV treatment significantly decreased the expression of eotaxin and IL-25 and increased TGF-β and IL-10 in both lung epithelial cells. EV treatment significantly increased the expression of co-stimulatory molecules such as CD40, CD80, and CD 86 in immature DCs. Furthermore, EV treatment significantly enhanced the gene expression of M2 macrophage marker such as Arg1, CCL22, IL-10, and TGF-β. In conclusion, EVs of ASCs ameliorated Th2-mediated inflammation induced by <I>Aspergillus</I> protease antigen through the activation of dendritic cells and M2 macrophage, accompanied by down-regulation of eotaxin and IL-25, and up-regulation of TGF-β and IL-10 in mouse lung epithelial cells.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> EVs of ASCs ameliorated Th2-mediated inflammation induced by <I>Aspergillus</I> protease antigen. </LI> <LI> ASCs secrete EVs with a size range of approximately 100–200 nm. </LI> <LI> EVs of ASCs induced M2 macrophage polarization. </LI> <LI> EVs of ASCs induced DCs maturation. </LI> <LI> EVs of ASCs might be an alternative candidate to treat allergic airway diseases. </LI> </UL> </P>

        The Effects of Environmental Conditions and Chemical Treatments on Seed Germination in Astilboides tabularis (Hemsl.) Engl.

        Tabulis [Astilboides tabularis (Hemsl.) Engl.] has the potential for becoming a useful horticultural crop. This study was conducted to classify the seed dormancy types and to identify the germination conditions that improve the horticultural usefulness of this plant. We found that A. tabularis (Hemsl.) Engl. produced undifferentiated embryos and had a low germination rate of under 50%. In addition, water submersion led to moisture absorption. Therefore, A. tabularis seeds were designated as morphologically dormant. The germination rate was highest (86.3%) at $30^{\circ}C$ under light conditions. Higher temperatures generally led to an acceleration of the germination process, regardless of light condition. To improve the germination rate, seeds were submerged in various concentrations of growth regulators, such as $GA_3$ and kinetin, as well as minerals such as $KNO_3$ and KCl. An analysis of germination characteristics at $30^{\circ}C$ under light conditions revealed that treatment with 200 and $500mg{\cdot}L^{-1}GA_3$ led to an excellent germination rate of 97.0%. Treatment with $100mg{\cdot}L^{-1}GA_3$ led to a better germination rate than the control as well. However, treatment with kinetin, $KNO_3$, and KCl had no effect on germination, regardless of concentration.

        Enzyme Activities and Compounds Related to Self-Defense in UV-Challenged Leaves of Rice

        The induction of enzymes and the accumulation of their end products associated with self-defense mechanism in rice were investigated. When rice leaves were irradiated with UV light, activities of diterpene cyclase, phenylalanine ammonia-lyase (PAL), and cinnamic acid 4-hydroxylase (CA4H) were induced and rice phytoalexin, momilactone A was accumulated. The content of p-coumaric acid in rice leaves was closely correlated with self-defense or allelopathic potential against barnyardgrass. UV-challenged rice leaves gave rise to the inhibition of barnyardgrass growth

        Effect of Number of Lactation Records on the Selection Rates in Holstein Dairy Cattle

        This experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of lactation records in Holstein dairy cattle on the selection rates using a total of 341,436 test records from 113, 812 heads of cattle from first to third lactation. Heritabilities for milk, fat, and protein yields were highest at first lactation (0.28, 0.24, and 0.27, respectively), and decreased to 0.14, 0.15, and 0.13 at third lactation. For the milk yields, phenotypic correlations between first and second lactation, first and third lactation, and second and third lactation were low (0.49, 0.39, and 0.47, respectively), while genetic correlations among consecutive lactations and between second and third were above 0.8 and 0.9. In Model I, of the 1,138 heads the top 1% were selected based on first lactation records, only 32.4% (396 heads) were re-selected when the second lactation records were included and the 67.6% (769 heads) were newly selected animals. While in Model II, 85.1% (1,138 heads) of the animals which were selected as the top 1% on the basis of first and second lactation records were included. A multiple trait evaluation method using multiple lactation records is more desirable than a single trait evaluation method using first lactation records only.
