        Epoxy resins were mixed with asphalt solution in the range of 0 - 60phr for the total components. The blending properties, curing properties, and surface properties for mixtures were investigated experimentally. Compatability of epoxy resins with asphalt were relatively good over mixture temperature 50℃. Interpenetrated polymer networks(IPNs) were partially formed between epoxy resins and asphalt. Increase of hardness was depended on the crosslinking density of epoxy resins and oxidation of asphalt. Defects of coated surface including crater, pinhole, and crack could be improved by adding epoxy resins 20 phr.

        心拍數와 Pedometer Score에서 본 國民學校 體育授業時의 活動量 分析

        1.Utilizing ten boy elementary students among 47(forty-seven)members of forth grade class, our systematic and group learning study discovered by carrying our soccer lesson that the average of pedometer score(2226.8±608.6) of group learning was higher than that(1912.7±504.8)of systematic learning. 2.We found the pedometer score had nothing to do with the mean heart rate in our systematic and group learning. 3.The mean heart rate of group learning was meaningfully higher(P<0.05) than that of systematic learning. 4.The exercise duration of group learning was longer than that of systematic learning in the 80%HRmax above physiological exercise intensity to improve the cardiorespiratory.

        The problems concerning to war crimes have been closedup as the object of great controversy among the scholars of the victorious and defeated nations since the ending of World War II. We can point out the reason of this controversy as follows : Wethought only violation of war codes in the conduct of war constituted war crimes before World War II. Since the ending of World War II, however, crimes against humanity and peace were brought into the category of war crime as new types of war crimes. The purpose of this article is to explain the contents and concept of crimes against peace and humanity as new types of war crime and that of normally defined war crimes and to analyze legal problems related with the crimes against humanity, and peace, particularly individual responsibilty, examples of judgement at the Inter-natinal Military Tribunal and the retroactivity of law actions.

        사람 뇌척수액중 Transthyretin의 항산화작용

        Protective effects of human cerebrospinal fluid antioxidants against enzyme inactivation caused by metal-catalyzed oxidation systems were investigated. When purified glutamine synthetase(GS) was incubated with human cerebrospinal fluid(CSF), the enzyme was progressively inactivated. Catalase and EDTA could inhibit the enzyme inactivation by 50-80%. Small-molecular(Mr< -10,000) fraction of CSF inactivated the exogenous GS, but large-molecular(Mr> -10,000) fraction did not. The GS inactivation by the small-molecular fraction was also markedly inhibited by catalase and EDTA. These results suggested that metal-catalyzed oxidation is involved in the GS inactivation by the small-molecular fraction of CSF. Dithiothreitol(DTT) was shown to inhibit almost completely the oxidative inactivation of GS by CSF. However, DTT inhibited only partially the oxidative inactivation of GS caused by small-molecular fraction of CSF. When large-molecular fraction of CSF was separated by anion-exchange HPLC chromatogrpahy, there was a peak of antioxidant activity inhibiting the small-molecular fraction-induced GS inactivation in the presence of DTT. The antioxidant activity was neutralized by monoclonal antibodies to transthyretin. Purified transthyretin was found to efficiently inhibit ascorbate/Cu^(2+)-induced GS inactivation in the presence of DTT. Uric acid and glucose did not show any protective effect on the GS inactivation in the same condition. The above results suggest that metal-catalyzed oxidation occurs normally in human CSF, and that transthyretin may play an important role as a CSF antioxidant in protecting proteins from metal-catalyzed oxidation.

      • 정상과 갑상선 종양조직에서 사람 IGF-I 유전자의 발현

        Many of the growth-promoting properties of growth hormone(GH) are mediated by insulin-like growth factor-I(IGF-I), a highly conserved circulating 70-amino acid peptide. Recent studies have shown that multiple mechanisms influence IGF-I gene expression, including transcription from two promoters, alternative RNA splicing, and variable polyadenylation. In thyroid tissue, thyroid stimulating hormone(TSH) and IGF-I are the most possible candidates for follicular cell proliferation and hypertrophy. Actually IGF-I had autocrine and paracrine effect for tissue growing. We prepared thyroid tumor tissue mRNAs using single step method for detecting IGF-I levels according to different tissues, i.e., thyroid adenoma or papillary thyroid carcinoma. We used Northern blot analysis for IGF-I mRNA and RNase protection assay (RPA) for IGF-I transcription start sites. For Northern blot, we used whole human IGF-I cDNA as a DNA probe and for RPA, we used IGF-I exon 1 containing noncoding promoter 1 as a riboprobe. We got good RNA bands from Northern blot analysis around 1 kb (IGF-IA) and 7.5 kb (IGF-IB) region. To clarify the amount of both IGF-IA and IB mRNAs, we measured autoradiographied signal of IGF-I mRNAs bands using densitometer. In IGF-IA signals, there's no change among liver and thyroid tissues, but in case of IGF-IB mRNA bands, the signal was markedly increased in thyroid carcinoma tissues than that of normal thyroid tissue (85% vs 14%). In the study of RPA, all thyroid tissues used the same transcription start sites as those of liver's. We concluded that that this different regulation of IGF-I mRNA was originated from tissue specificity. That meant some tissue specific transcription factor/s were related to tissue IGF-I expression.

      • Abnormally low LDL-Cholesterol Level in Cholestasis or Hypertriglyceridemia

        목적 : 최근에 LDL-C를 직접 측정하는 방법들이 개발되었다. 이 방법들은 정확하고 정밀하게 LDL-C를 측정할 수 있으며, 기존 방법들에 비해 다양한 간섭물질에 의한 영향을 덜 받는 것으로 알려졌다. 그러나, 저자들은 이대목동병원 입원 환자 중에서 Kyowa reagents(Kyowa Medex Co., Tokyo, Japan)에 의해 polyethylene/cyclodextrin(PC) 방법으로 LDL-C를 측정했을 때 비정상적으로 LDL-C 수치가 낮거나 측정되지 않는 11명의 환자를 발견하고, 그 원인을 분석하였다. 방법 : 2002년 4월부터 12월까지 이대목동병원에 내원하여 PC 방법으로 LDL-C를 측정했던 7872명의 환자들 중 비정상적으로 낮거나 측정되지 않는 LDL-C 결과를 보인 11명의 환자를 대상으로 하였다. 11명의 환자의 혈청을 같은 방법으로 재검하였고, 이 중 8명의 LDL-C는 Wako reagents(Wako Pure Chemical Industries, Osaka, Japan)을 사용하여 detergent(D) 방법으로 재측정하였다. 측정된 LDL-C 결과는 Friedewald equation 계산치와 비교하였고, 5명의 환자에서는 지단백 전기영동을 실시하였다. 결과 : Cholestasis를 동반한 8명의 환자에서는 PC 방법으로는 LDL-C가 비정상적으로 낮거나 측정되지 않았다. 하지만 D 방법으로 측정한 이들의 LDL-C 결과는 모두 30mg/dL 보다 높은 값을 보였고, Friedewald 공식으로 계산한 LDL-C도 30mg/dL 보다 높았다. 지단백 전기영동을 실시한 4명에서 LDL-C band가 존재하거나(2명), LpX가 관찰되었다(2명). Hypertriglyceridemia를 동반한 4명의 환자에서(1명은 cholestasis와 hypertriglyceridemia를 동시에 동반한 경우로서 양쪽 group에 중복 포함되었음) PC 방법으로는 LDL-C가 비정상적으로 낮거나 측정되지 않았으나 D 방법으로는 40mg/dL보다 높은 결과를 보였다. 지단백 전기영동을 실시한 2명에서 모두 LDL-C이 존재하였다. 결론 : PC 방법으로 LDL-C 측정시 LDL-C가 비정상적으로 낮거나 측정되지 않을 경우에는 cholestatic sera에 존재하는 비정상적인 LDL-C나 Lpx 또는 hypertriglyceridemia에 의한 간섭을 고려하여야 하며 그 외의 가능한 간섭 물질들을 고려해야 한다. 이러한 경우, D 방법이나 계산법, 전기영동법과 같은 다른 측정법에 의한 재검이 필요하다. 또한 측정법 차이에 따라 정확하게 정상 LDL-C만 LDL-C로 측정하는 방법과 모든 비정상적인 LDL-C까지도 LDL-C에 포함시켜 측정하는 방법 중에서 어느 방법이 우월한지는 임상 경과와 연관시켜 고려해야 할 것이다.

      • Racket 運動時의 反應時間과 運動速度 改善을 爲한 Simulator 「SQT」에 關한 硏究

        The main purpose of this study was to improve greatly the most important reaction time(RT) and speed of movement (SM) at racket exercise by making program for simulator super quality training (S.Q.T) and applying it. The subjects employed were 25 male athletes composed of soccer players 8, volleyball players 7, shooting players 2, soft-tennis players 2, gymnastics player 1, and rugby football player 1 at the Kyungpook National University. We devided each sport player half and half by means of their pre-testing reaction time, and the subjects were devieded into experimental and control group. Experimental group was drilled by using light stimulus simulator training method and control group was drilled by using sound stimulus simulator training method. The training was practiced 20∼30 minutes a day regularly and 5 times a week for 5 weeks. Two groups practiced concentrically experimental learning by using light and sound simulator equipment by S.Q.T. program under equal condition. The propriety on the training effect was investigated by longitudinal analysis of results tested before and after experiment. As the result of the experiment, superiority and inferiority of two groups was evaluated by trying crosssectional analysis. The results obtained were summarized as follows: 1. Reaction time Experimental group; The performance of this group was greatly improved after experiment. Control group; The performance of this group was greatly improved after experiment. Comparison of two groups; Leftward simple completion time showed a significant difference (p<.01), but the other elements did not showed it. As a whole, experimental group was superior to control group, but statistics showed little difference between the two groups. 2. Speed of movement Experimental group; The performance of all elements were improved after experiment(over p<.05). Control group; The performance of this group was improved at only 4 of 9 elements after experiment Comparison of two groups; The performance of service and dash showed a significant difference (p<.01) and the others did not showed it. But as a whole, experimental group was superior to control group in their performance. 3. Viewing Variance and correlation coefficient at the change of RT and SM, there were differences in the variance. This means that the standard deviation is great; i.e. the individual difference is great. The lower correlation coefficient means that correlationship is low in the performance before and after experiment: i.e. it means that individual difference was decreased because the gap of two groups, correlation coefficient became less. Especially, statistics showed that the record of the lower recorded players could be shortened to a maximum.
