        Optical Image Encryption Technique Based on Hybrid-pattern Phase Keys

        We propose an implementation scheme for an optical encryption system with hybrid-pattern random keys. In the encryption process, a pair of random phase keys composed of a white-noise phase key and a structured phase key are positioned in the input plane and Fourier-spectrum plane respectively. The output image is recoverable by digital reconstruction, using the conjugate of the encryption key in the Fourier-spectrum plane. We discuss the system encryption performance when different combinations of phase-key pairs are used. To measure the effectiveness of the proposed method, we calculate the statistical indicators between original and encrypted images. The results are compared to those generated from a classical double random phase encoding. Computer simulations are presented to show the validity of the method.

        Landscape Design from the Female Perspective at the Hengshui Lake Park in Hebei Province, China

        This study aimed to identify design factors from the female perspective and then propose the implications for landscape design at the Hengshui Lake Park in Hebei Province, China. The Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) was adopted and 27 attributes from seven categories on women’s preferences in spatial cognitions were selected. Results indicated that among 27 factors, women gave more consideration to waterfront spaces, plant colors, restrooms, wheelchair accessibility, sign boards, warning signs, layered planting, historic landscapes, lighting systems, adult entertainment facilities, children's playgrounds, resting places, and pedestrian roads. Among these attributes, relatively dissatisfied ones are layered planting, warning signs, historic landscapes, lighting systems, adult entertainment facilities, sign boards, children's playgrounds, resting places, and pedestrian roads. For women, reasonable information on security, location, and landscape history should be supplied, and various personal, semi-public, and public spaces should be created using layered planting techniques. Based on women's characteristics of accompanying children, playgrounds and educational spaces on their history and culture should be reformed and upgraded.

        NOVEL HIERARCHICAL NANORODS OF SILICON-DOPED Bi2O2CO3 AND ITS PHOTOCATALYTIC ACTIVITY

        The silicon-doped Bi2O2CO3 nanorods with the interesting hierarchical structure are synthesized by a simple hydrothermal method. The samples are characterized by XRD, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), scanning electron microscope (SEM), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), Ultraviolet-visible diffuse refectance spectra (UV-DRS) and nitrogen sorption isotherms. It is found that with the increase of silicon content, the XRD peak of the sample significantly shifts toward a low diffraction angle and the particle morphologies change from nanosheets, nanoflowers to hierarchical nanorods. Moreover, the silicon-doped Bi2O2CO3 hierarchical nanorods exhibit improved photocatalytic degradation activities for different types of dyes under simulated solar light irradiation. The improved activity has been mainly attributed to the unique hierarchical nanorods structure and the formation of Si–O–Bi bonds.

      • Array Organization and Data Management Exploration in Racetrack Memory

        <P>As the descendant of spin-transfer random access memory (STT-RAM), racetrack memory technology saves data in magnetic domains along nanoscopic wires. Such a unique structure can achieve unprecedentedly high storage density meanwhile inheriting the promising features of STT-RAM, such as fast access speed, non-volatility, zero standby power, hardness to soft errors, and compatibility with CMOS technology. Moreover, the recent success in planar racetrack nanowire promised its fabrication feasibility and continuous scalability. In this paper, we investigate the design and optimization of racetrack memory as last-level cache by embracing design considerations across multiple abstraction layers, including the cell design, the array structure, the architecture organization, and the data management. The cross-layer optimization makes racetrack memory based last-level cache achieve 6.4 x reduction in area, 25 percent enhancement in system performance, and 62 percent saving in energy consumption, compared to STT-RAM cache design. Its benefit over SRAM technology is even more significant.</P>

        The effect of volume conservation based on nucleon scattering analysis for W isotopes

        On the basis of soft-rotor model, a good description of nucleon scattering on tungsten and neighboring nuclei was achieved in J. Phys. G: Nucl. Part. Phys. 48, 075101 (2021), and the nuclear volume conservation condition was introduced. The effect of volume conservation on calculations for tungsten isotopes is further investigated by defining the ratio R for cross sections, scattering angular distributions and analyzing powers. The results show that the volume conservation effect cannot be ignored. This effect is more significant in the low-energy region of cross sections and at extrema of angular distributions. Comparison between the calculated results and existing nuclear data evaluations in different evaluated nuclear data libraries is shown.

        Optimization method of vehicle handling stability based on response surface model with D-optimal test design

        In order to improve the handling stability of a vehicle, an optimization method of vehicle handling stability based on D-optimal test design was proposed in this paper. The multibody dynamic model was established and verified by experiments. On this basis, a response surface model was established based on D-optimal test design. An improved genetic-particle swarm algorithm was used to optimize the vehicle handling stability. The general evaluation score of vehicle handling stability was taken as the optimization objective. The vehicle structural parameters, tire and spring characteristics were regarded as design variables. The results showed that the multi-body dynamic model was accurate. After optimization, the general evaluation score of vehicle handling stability increased by 8.98 %; the score of the steering returnability and steady static circular test was increased by 20.43 % and 27.31 %, respectively. Then from the sensitivity of the optimization variables to the stability of the vehicle's handling, the rear wheel lateral stiffness has the greatest impact on it, with a sensitivity of 86.9 %; the wheelbase has the smallest impact on it, with a sensitivity of -3.39 %, which can be reduced in future optimization variable to improve design efficiency.

        Effects of triflumezopyrim on the reproduction of brown planthopper, Nilaparvata lugens

        The brown planthopper, Nilaparvata lugens Stål (Hemiptera: Delphacidae), is a notorious pest on rice in Asia and has evolved serious resistance to traditional chemical insecticides in recent years. Triflumezopyrim, a newly commercialized mesoionic insecticide, exhibited an excellent control effect on sucking insects, including N. lugens. However, the effects of triflumezopyrim on the reproduction of N. lugens have not yet been fully elucidated. In this study, we investigated the impacts of different concentrations of triflumezopyrim (LC 10 , LC 50 and LC 90 ) on the reproduction and the reproduction related genes of N. lugens exposure to the insecticide via systemic and contact route. The results indicated that the preoviposition periods of N. lugens females in the LC 50 and LC 90 triflumezopyrim-treated groups (♀ t × ♂ t) were prolonged in contact toxicity treatment, compared with control (acetone treatment). The fecundities for three pair combinations (♀ c ×♂ t, ♀ t ×♂ c and ♀ t ×♂ t) treated with LC 50 and LC 90 concentrations of triflumezopyrim showed a significant decrease compared to water/acetonetreated control via contact and systemic route. No significant effects of LC 10 triflumezopyrim on preoviposition period and fecundity were found in contact and systemic toxicity treatments. However, the triflumezopyrim did not influence the egg hatchability. By microscope observation, the LC 50 and LC 90 triflumezopyrim impended the ovarian development in females. qRT-PCR analysis showed that the vitellogenin (NlVg) relative expression level of female adults exposed to LC 50 and LC 90 triflumezopyrim decreased by 30.3 – 39.5% in two toxicity treatments. The titers of another reproduction related hormones juvenile hormone III (JH III) in LC 50 and LC 90 triflumezopyrim-treatments were 27.4% and 25.8% lower than control in contact toxicity treatment and 27.08% and 37.18% lower than control in systemic toxicity treatment. In summary, these results suggested that the median lethal and high lethal concentrations of triflumezopyrim inhibited the reproduction and reduced the expression of NlVg and JH III in N. lugens. This study provided a reference for the efficient and scientific utili zation of triflumezopyrim in the field.

        MiR-1165-3p Suppresses Th2 Differentiation via Targeting IL-13 and PPM1A in a Mouse Model of Allergic Airway Inflammation

        Purpose: CD4+T cells are essential in the pathogenesis of allergic asthma. We have previously demonstrated that microRNA-1165-3p (miR-1165-3p) was significantly reduced in T-helper type (Th) 2 cells and that miR-1165-3p was a surrogate marker for atopic asthma. Little is known about the mechanisms of miR-1165-3p in the regulation of Th2-dominated allergic inflammation. We aimed to investigate the associations between Th2 differentiation and miR-1165b-3p in asthma as well as the possible mechanisms. Methods: CD4+ naïve T cells were differentiated into Th1 or Th2 cells in vitro. MiR-1165-3p was up-regulated or down-regulated using lentiviral systems during Th1/Th2 differentiation. In vivo, the lentiviral particles with the miR-1165-3p enhancer were administered by tail vein injection on the first day of a house dust mite -induced allergic airway inflammation model. Allergic inflammation and Th1/Th2 differentiation were routinely monitored. To investigate the potential targets of miR-1165-3p, biotin-microRNA pull-down products were sequenced, and the candidates were further verified with a dual-luciferase reporter assay. The roles of a target protein phosphatase, Mg2+/Mn2+-dependent 1A (PPM1A), in Th2 cell differentiation and allergic asthma were further explored. Plasma PPM1A was determined by ELISA in 18 subjects with asthma and 20 controls. Results: The lentivirus encoding miR-1165-3p suppressed Th2-cell differentiation in vitro. In contrast, miR-1165-3p silencing promoted Th2-cell development. In the HDM-induced model of allergic airway inflammation, miR-1165-3p up-regulation was accompanied by reduced airway hyper-responsiveness, serum immunoglobulin E, airway inflammation and Th2-cell polarization. IL-13 and PPM1A were the direct targets of miR-1165-3p. The expression of IL-13 or PPM1A was inversely correlated with that of miR-1165-3p. PPM1A regulated the signal transducer and activator of transcription and AKT signaling pathways during Th2 differentiation. Moreover, plasma PPM1A was significantly increased in asthmatic patients. Conclusions: MiR-1165-3p negatively may regulate Th2-cell differentiation by targeting IL-13 and PPM1A in allergic airway inflammation.

        Resonance-based sparse improved fast independent component analysis and its application to the feature extraction of planetary gearboxes

        A resonance-based sparse improved fast independent component analysis (ICA) (RSIFICA) is proposed to extract the fault characteristics of planetary gearbox. First, the signal is decomposed using resonance sparse signal decomposition (RSSD). Second, highresonance components were retained while others were eliminated. Finally, the signal after dimension reduction was analyzed using ICA, and the fault characteristic frequency was extracted through envelope spectrum analysis. In this process, the preset Q parameter of RSSD is optimized on the basis of fuzzy entropy and ant-lion optimization algorithm. The accuracy of RSSD was improved by performing time-frequency entropy component selection. FastICA was improved, and the slow convergence problem of ICA was solved. Results showed that RSIFICA could extract the fault characteristic frequency accurately, and the calculation efficiency of FastICA increased by 21.49 %. In terms of extracting the fault features, its performance could be better than EMD-FastICA.

      • Chemical processing of water-soluble species and formation of secondary organic aerosol in fogs

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>A field study on fog chemistry and aqueous-phase processing of aerosol particles was conducted in Fresno, California's San Joaquin Valley (SJV) during wintertime. Fog droplets were collected while interstitial submicron aerosol was characterized in real time using a High Resolution Time-of-Flight Aerosol Mass Spectrometer (HR-AMS). The fog samples were later analyzed using HR-AMS, ion chromatography (IC), and total organic carbon analyzer (TOC). Compared to interstitial aerosol, dissolved solutes in fog waters were composed of higher fractions of ammonium, nitrate, sulfate, methanesulfonic acid, and oxygenated organic compounds, likely due to aqueous formation of secondary species as well as enhanced gas-to-particle partitioning of water-soluble gases under humid conditions. The low-volatility dissolved organic matter in fog water (F-OA) was moderately oxidized with an average oxygen-to-carbon (O/C) ratio of 0.42. The chemical composition of F-OA appeared to be overall similar to that of oxygenated organic component in interstitial aerosol (OOA) and the HR-AMS mass spectra of F-OA and OOA are highly similar (r<SUP>2</SUP> > 0.95). However, there are also significant chemical differences as F-OA appeared to contain a larger fraction of carboxylic functional groups than OOA, indicating enhanced organic acid formation through aqueous-phase reactions. In addition, F-OA was composed of substantially more nitrogen-containing compounds, with an average N/C ratio ∼4 times that of OOA. Most strikingly was that the F-OA spectra showed substantial enhancements of the C<SUB>x</SUB>H<SUB>y</SUB>N<SUB>2</SUB> <SUP>+</SUP> (x ≥ 0; y ≥ 0) ions, which were likely contributed by imidazole- and/or pyrazine-based compounds formed from the aqueous reactions of aldehydes with amino compounds. The results of this study demonstrated that aqueous reactions in atmospheric droplets can significantly modify aerosol composition and contribute to the formation of oxygenated and nitrogen-containing organic compounds in atmospheric aerosol particles. This finding is important for understanding aerosol's effects on human health, air quality, and climate.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> HR-AMS study of fog processing of PM1 in San Joaquin Valley of CA during winter. </LI> <LI> Fog waters are enriched of secondary inorganic and organic aerosol species. </LI> <LI> Organic residuals in fog waters (FOM) is moderately oxidized (average O/C = 0.42). </LI> <LI> FOM has more abundant carboxylic acid and organic nitrogen compounds than OOA. </LI> <LI> This is evidence for forming imidazole- or pyrazine-based compounds in fog waters. </LI> </UL> </P>
