        수리조선 작업장에서의 공기중 석면 노출에 관한 연구

        This paper aims to provide basic data for work environment control, prevention of worker exposure to asbestos and improvement of air quality to protect workers ‘health after measuring the level of airborne asbestos and workers' exposure in a shipbuilding repair businesses. For this study, a total of 27 samples were collected from 27 workers who had been exposed to asbestos during engine, piping, boiler and other manufacturing processes in 'A' Shipbuilding Repair Company in Gyeongnam. This research was conducted from Oct. 1 to 30, 2007 and had the following results: The target group (27 workers) consisted of all men with an average age of 35.9 years and 6.6 years of work on average. Among them, fifteen 15 (55.6%) were smokers. In terms of their duties at work, there were 12 plumbing repair engineers (44.4%), 8 boiler repair engineers (29.6%) and 7 engine engineers (25.9%). The geometric mean concentration of airborne asbestos was 0.004 f/cc. A total of 4 samples exceeded the exposure limit. In particular, three exceeded the legal limit by more than double, which means that some workers have been highly exposed to asbestos. In terms of the concentration of asbestos fibres by work process, plumbing repair was the highest (0.0071 f/cc($0.001{\sim}0.57\;f/cc$)) while boiler was the lowest (0.0015 f/cc($0.001{\sim}0.007\;f/cc$)). Based on this study, proper action needs to be taken as soon as possible to protect workers from the threat of asbestos.

        UHF대역 RFID 수신단(리더)의 지터(비트동기) 및 글리치 제거회로 설계

        본 논문에서는 ISO/IEC 18000-6C 표준안을 만족하는 UHF대역 RFID 수신단(리더)의 지터(Jitter)처리와 글리치제거 알고리듬 및 설계방안을 제안하고 이를 이용한 리더를 구현하여 실제 TI(Texas instrument) Gen2 태그의 응답을 분석하였다. ISO/IEC 18000-6C표준안은 Reader에서 Tag로 데이터 전송 시 +/-1%의 오차와 Tag에서 Reader로 데이터 전송 시 최대 +/-22%의 오차를 허용하도록 정의하고 있다. 이러한 허용오차범위 내의 데이터에 대해 본 논문에서 제시한 회로는 기존의 PLL(DPLL, ADPLL)을 이용한 방식이 아닌 최대허용치(tolerance)와 허용치누적을 이용하여 일정치의 오차범위를 허용하며 디코딩 하도록 설계하였다. 또한 글리치와 지터제거 알고리듬의 기본원리를 동일하게 구성하여 글리치제거와 지터제거를 따로 구분하지 않고 하나의 기능으로 동작하게 한다. 주 클럭은 19.2MHz로 설정하였으며 LF는 국내 전파법에 맞도록 40kHz로 설정하였다 시뮬레이션결과 15%이하의 위상지터를 가진 입력데이터에 대해 판독에러율은 0이었으며 $15%{\sim}22%$ 위상지터를 가진 입력데이터에 대해서 는 0.000589였다. 그러나 동적LF생성회로를 사용한 결과 $15%{\sim}22%$ 위상변화를 가진 입력데이터에 대해 판독에러율은 0이었으며 표준안에 정의된 최대 +/-22%오차 범위내의 지터 발생에 대해서 판독에러율은 0이었다. In this paper, we propose an implementation and an algorithm of 'Jitter and Glitch Removing Circuit' for UHF RFID reader system based on ISO/IEC 18000-6C standard. We analyze the response of TI(Texas Instrument) Gen2 tag with a reader using the proposed algorithm. In ISO/IEC 18000-6C standard, a bit rate accuracy(tolerance) is up to +/-22% during tag-to-interrogator communication and +/-1% during interrogator-to-tag communication. In order to solve tolerance problems, we implement the Jitter and Glitch Removing Circuit using the concept of tolerance and tolerance-accumulation instead of PLL(DPLL, ADPLL). The main clock is 19.2MHz and the LF(Link Frequency) is determined as 40kHz to meet the local radio regulation in korea. As a result of simulations, the error-rate is zero within 15% tolerance of tag responses. And in the case of using the adaptive LF generation circuit, the error-rate varies from 0.000589 to zero between 15% and 22% tolerance of tag responses. In conclusion, the error-rate is zero between 0%-22% tolerance of tag response specified in ISO/IEC 18000-6C standard.

        The Analysis of Slice-Induced Factors in Golf Swing Using a 3D Motion Capture System

        <P>In golf, it is crucial that unintended shots, such as slices, be minimized. However, it has proven rather difficult to improve golf performance via investigations of the causes of slicing, as this particular phenomenon is induced by a cooperative effect by each segment of the body, rather than by a single postural anomaly. Thus, the objective of this study was to isolate and characterize the factors causing slicing, and to present possibilities for the improvement of golf performance via the minimization of the number of slices executed, using a three dimensional motion capture system, combined with multiple regression analysis, artificial neural network, and fuzzy logic techniques. This study obtained some interesting results, such as the following: (1) We isolated 9 slice-inducing factors, using a stepwise method. (2) Our artificial neural network (ANN) accurately separated 'slice' from 'normal' shots (classification rate: 100%). (3)We could present the possibility of reducing the number of slice using the fuzzy logic. We expect that our data might be eventually used to improve golf performance.</P>

        Breeding and Genetics : Forensic Characterization of Four New Bovine Tri-nucleotide Microsatellite Markers in Korean Cattle (Hanwoo)

        We identified four new bovine tri-nucleotide microsatellite loci and analyzed their sequence structures and genetic parameters in 105 randomly selected Korean cattle (Hanwoo). Allele numbers of the loci 817S0808, B15S6253, B8S7996, and B17S4998 were 10, 11, 12, and 29, respectively. These alleles contained a simple or compound repeat sequences with some variations. Allele distributions of all these loci were in Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium (P> 0.05). Observed heterozygosity and expected heterozygosity ranged from 0.54(B15S6253) to 0.92(B17S4998) and from 0.599(B15S6253) to 0.968(B17S4998), respectively, and two measures of heterozygosity at each locus were highly correlated. Polymorphism information content (PIC) for these 4 loci ranged from 0.551 (B15S6253) to 0.932(B17S4998), which means that all these loci are highly informative (PIC>0.5). Other genetic parameters, power of discrimination (PD) and probability of exclusion (PE) ranged from 0.783 (B15S6253) to 0.984 (B17S4998) and from 0.210 (B15S6253) to 0.782(B17S4998), respectively. Their combined PD and PE values were 0.9999968 and 0.98005176, respectively. Capillary electrophoresis revealed that average peak height ratio for a stutter was 13.89% at B17S0808, 26.67% at B15S6253, 9.09% at B8S7996, and 43.75% at B17S4998. Although the degree of genetic variability of the locus B15S6253 was relatively low among these four microsatellite markers, their favorable parameters and low peak height ratios for stutters indicate that these four new tri-nucleotide microsatellite loci could be useful multiplex PCR markers for the forensic and population genetic studies in cattle including Korean native breed.

      • P020 : Vitamin D and house dust mite sensitization in patients with atopic dermatitis: a preliminary study

        Background: The relationship between atopic dermatitis (AD) and low vitamin D levels has been studied. Emerging evidence has implicated vitamin D as a critical regulator of immunity, playing a role in both the innate and cell-mediated immune systems. However, the effect of vitamin D on the house dust mite (HDM) sensitization in patients with AD has not been established. Objectives: We investigated the association between the level of vitamin D and HDM sensitization according to the severity of AD. Methods: A total of 63 patients (35 males and 28 females) with AD were included. Severity of AD was classified by Rajka and Langeland score. Laboratory tests included serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D3, total immunoglobulin E (IgE) and allergen-specific IgE measurements. Results: There were no differences of vitamin D levels between mild or moderate AD group and severe AD group. A tendency of high HDM sensitization showed in AD patients with low vitamin D levels although statistically not significant(r2=0.016). In addition, interestingly, a significant negative correlation was found between vitamin D levels and HDM sensitization in severe AD group (r2 = 0.059). Conclusion: Our preliminary results demonstrate low vitamin D levels may link to high HDM sensitization in the severe AD group. Further elucidation of the role of vitamin D in the HDM sensitization may hold profound implications for the prevention and treatment of AD.

        A Case of Occupational Rhinitis Induced by Maize Pollen Exposure in a Farmer: Detection of IgE-Binding Components

        <P>Corn is a major staple food, along with rice and wheat, in many parts of the world. There are several reports of hypersensitivity to maize pollen. However, cases of occupational allergic rhinitis induced by inhalation of maize pollen are very rare. We herein report the case of a 67-year-old male with occupational rhinitis caused by occupational exposure to maize pollen in a cornfield. He showed positive responses to maize pollen, as well as grass pollens, in skin prick tests. A high level of serum immunoglobulin E (IgE) specific to maize pollen extracts was detected by an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Laboratory tests showed a high serum level of total IgE (724 kU/L) and a high level of IgE specific to maize pollen (8.32 kU/L) using the Immuno-CAP system. Occupational rhinitis was confirmed by a nasal provocation test with maize pollen extracts. IgE ELISA inhibition tests showed antibody cross-reactivity between maize pollen and grass pollen extracts. IgE immunoblotting using maize pollen extracts demonstrated a 27 kDa IgE-binding component. These findings suggest that maize pollen can induce IgE-mediated occupational rhinitis in exposed workers.</P>

        The Results of Cervical Nucleoplasty in Patients with Cervical Disc Disorder: A Retrospective Clinical Study of 22 Patients

        Background: Nucleoplasty is a minimally invasive spinal surgery using a Coblation(R) technique that creates small voids within the disc. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of cervical nucleoplasty in patients with cervical disc disorder. Methods: Between March 2008 and December 2009, 22 patients with cervical disc disorders were treated with cervical nucleoplasty after failed conservative treatment. All procedures were performed under local anesthesia, and fluoroscopic guidance and voids were created in the disc with the Perc(TM) DC Spine Wand(TM). Clinical outcomes were evaluated by the Modified Macnab criteria and VAS score at preprocedure, postprocedure 1 month, and 6 months. Results: Six patients had one, eight patients had two and eight patients had three discs treated; a total of 46 procedures was performed. Mean VAS reduced from 9.3 at preprocedure to 3.7 at postprocedure 1 month and to 3.4 at postprocedure 6 months. There was no significant complication related to the procedure within the first month. Outcomes were good or excellent in 17/22 (77.3%) cases. Postprocedure magnetic resonance imaging was acquired in two patients after two months showing morphologic evidence of volume reduction of protruded disc material in one patient but not in the other. Conclusions: Percutaneous decompression with a nucleoplasty using a Coblation(R) technique in the treatment of cervical disc disorder is a safe, minimally-invasive and less uncomfortable procedure, with an excellent short-term clinical outcome.       • Anti-Jerk Controller Design with a Cooperative Control Strategy in Hybrid Electric Vehicle

        In this paper, vibration suppression in the drivetrain of HEV(Hybrid Electric Vehicle) is considered. This study is motivated by the fact that vibration in the drivetrain of HEV and EV(Electric Vehicle) becomes a more important problem because while the existing gasoline or diesel vehicles have sufficient elements which have a role of a damper such as a torque converter, a flexible joint, and so on, the HEV and EV do not, and then the vibration is not effectively suppressed. Since the vibration makes passengers feel uncomfortable and causes poor drivability, this problem should be solved for good merchantable quality of HEV and EV. For this, in this paper we design an anti-jerk controller with a cooperative control strategy among HCU(Hybrid Control Unit), MCU(Motor Control Unit), EBS(Electric Brake System), TCU(Transmission Control Unit), and ECU(Engine Control Unit). We present the cooperative control strategy which makes appropriate circumstances under which the anti-jerk controller operates well. Then, the anti-jerk controller is designed that is composed of an active damping method producing a reverse torque of which the phase is opposite to that of the vibration and a torque profiling method limiting the gradient of torque. In order to verify the effectiveness of the proposed controller, simulation results and experimental results are shown.
