Elasto-Plasticity Behavior of Type 5000 and 6000 Aluminum Alloy Sheets and Its Constitutive Modeling
Shohei TAMURA,Satoshi SUMIKAWA,Hiroshi HAMASAKI,Takeshi UEMORI,Fusahito YOSHIDA 한국소성가공학회 2010 기타자료 Vol.2010 No.6
To examine the deformation characteristic of type 5000 and 6000 aluminum alloy sheets, uniaxial tension, biaxial stretching and in-plane cyclic tension-compression experiments were performed, and from these, r-values (r?, r45 and r90), yield loci and cyclic stress-strain responses were obtained. For the accurate description of anisotropies of the materials, high-ordered anisotropic yield functions, such as Gotoh’s biquadratic yield function and Barlat’s Yld2000-2d, are necessary. Furthermore, for the simulation of cyclic behavior, an advanced kinematic hardening model, such as Yoshida-Uemori model (Y-U model), should be employed. The effect of the selection of material models on the accuracy of the springback prediction was discussed by performing hat bending FE simulation using several yield functions and two types of hardening laws (the isotropic hardening model and Y-U model)

Background/Aims Several studies have assessed the effect of cool temperature on colonic peristalsis. Transient receptor potential melastatin 8 (TRPM8) is a temperature-sensitive ion channel activated by mild cooling expressed in the colon. We examined the antispasmodic effect of cool temperature on colonic peristalsis in a prospective, randomized, single-blind trial and based on the video imaging and intraluminal pressure of the proximal colon in rats and TRPM8-deficient mice. Methods In the clinical trial, we randomly assigned a total of 94 patients scheduled to undergo colonoscopy to 2 groups: the mildly cool water (n = 47) and control (n = 47) groups. We used 20 mL of 15°C water for the mildly cool water. The primary outcome was the proportion of subjects with improved peristalsis after treatment. In the rodent proximal colon, we evaluated the intraluminal pressure and performed video imaging of the rodent proximal colon with cool water administration into the colonic lumen. Clinical trial registry website (Trial No. UMIN-CTR; UMIN000030725). Results In the randomized controlled trial, after treatment, the proportion of subjects with no peristalsis with cool water was significantly higher than that in the placebo group (44.7% vs 23.4%; P < 0.05). In the rodent colon model, cool temperature water was associated with a significant decrease in colonic peristalsis through its suppression of the ratio of peak frequency (P < 0.05). Cool temperature-treated TRPM8-deficient mice did not show a reduction in colonic peristalsis compared with wild-type mice. Conclusion For the first time, this study demonstrates that cool temperature-dependent suppression of colonic peristalsis may be associated with TRPM8 activation.

A mid-infrared free electron laser (MIR-FEL) (5 - 20 μm) facility (KU-FEL: Kyoto University Free Electron Laser) was constructed to aid in various energy science researchers at the Institute of Advanced Energy, Kyoto University. In May 2008, the first power saturation at 13.2 μm was achieved. A pilot application to evaluate selective phonon excitation processes in solid materials by irradiating with MIR-FEL was implemented, and a preliminary experiment without FEL irradiation was conducted. N-doped silicon carbide (SiC) was selected as a sample material due to its unique electrical property where the lattice vibration and electronic structure are coupled. Two peaks at 1.8 - 2.4 eV and 2.4 - 2.8 eV, which showed strong temperature dependences in both their intensities and peak energy, were observed. These tendencies could be explained by a donor-acceptor pair luminescence (DAP) model with impurity and defects in the SiC sample. The results imply that we can verify the selective phonon excitation by investigating the change of PL spectrum introduced by MIR-FEL irradiation.

Purpose: Patients with hematological malignancies are at an increased risk of severe infection with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). However, developing an adequate immune response after vaccination is difficult, especially in patients with lymphoid neoplasms. Since the long-term effects of the BNT162b2 vaccine are unclear, the humoral immune response 5 months after the two vaccinations in patients with hematological disorders was analyzed. Materials and Methods: Samples were collected from 96 patients vaccinated twice with BNT162b2 and treated with at least one line of an antitumor or immunosuppressive drug in our hospital from November 2021 to February 2022. Serum anti-severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (anti-SARS-CoV-2) spike (S) antibody titers were analyzed. Patients were age- and sex-matched using propensity matching and compared with a healthy control group. Patients with serum anti-SARS-CoV-2 S antibodies were defined as ‘responder’ if >50 U/mL. The patients had B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (B-NHL), multiple myeloma, chronic myeloid leukemia, etc. Results: Patients had significantly low antibody levels (median, 55.3 U/mL vs. 809.8 U/mL; p<0.001) and a significantly low response rate (p<0.001). Multivariate analysis showed that patients with B-NHL, aged >72 years, were associated with a low response to vaccination. There were no significant differences between patients with chronic myeloid leukemia and healthy controls. Conclusion: Our study shows that patients with hematological disorders are at risk of developing severe COVID-19 infections because of low responsiveness to vaccination. Moreover, the rate of antibody positivity differed between the disease groups. Further studies are warranted to determine an appropriate preventive method for these patients, especially those with B-NHL.
Structural Design of Nakanoshima Festival Tower
Okada, Ken,Yoshida, Satoshi Council on Tall Building and Urban Habitat Korea 2014 International journal of high-rise buildings Vol.3 No.3
Nakanoshima Festival Tower is a 200 m high-rise complex building which contains a renewed 2700-seat capacity concert hall known as "Festival Hall" and offices including headquarter of a news company. In order to build up an office tower on the hall which requires large open space, a giant truss system is employed. The giant trusses being composed of mega-trusses and belt-trusses support all the building weight above them and transfer the load to the outside of the hall. The building also requires high seismic resistance performance for a news company. Application of mid-story seismic isolation enables the building to satisfy high-level seismic resistance criteria.

The magnet system consists of a 5-T pion capture solenoid, a curved muon transport solenoid, and a large bore detector solenoid. The pion capture solenoid system consists of a large cold mass including four coils with an inner diameter of 1340 mm and a small cold mass including six small coils with an inner diameter of 500 mm. The peak magnetic field on the conductor reaches to 5.4 T at an operation current of 2700 A. This paper presents the design and structural details of a magnet, radiation-resistant coil, cold mass and vacuum vessel, apart from the results of the electromagnetic analysis in two-dimensional (2-D) and 3-D.</P>
Structural Design of Nakanoshima Festival Tower West that Achieved High-Grade Seismic Performance
Kumano, Takehito,Yoshida, Satoshi,Saburi, Kazuhiro Council on Tall Building and Urban Habitat Korea 2017 International journal of high-rise buildings Vol.6 No.3
This paper summarizes the structural concept and design of the "Nakanoshima Festival Tower West" in Osaka, Japan, which is 200m high and has a super-high damping system. Its superstructure is mainly composed of a central core and outer tube frames. It has a bottom truss structure at the boundary between the low-rise and mid-rise sections of the building, where the column arrangement is changed. Besides, the high-rise section of the building has a neck truss structure. These truss structures smoothly transfer the axial forces of the columns and reduce the flexural deformations induced by horizontal loads. Oil dampers with extremely high damping capacity are installed in the rigid walls named the "Big Wall Frames" of the low-rise section. Moreover, many braces and damping devices are well arranged in the center core of each story. The damping effects of these devices ensure that all structural members are remain within the elastic range and that story drifts are within 1/150 in large earthquakes. This super-high damping structure in the low-rise section is named the "Damping Layer". The whole structural system is named the "Super Damping Structure". The whole structural systems enhance the building's safety, comfort and Business Continuity Planning (BCP) under large earthquakes.
