      • Innovative Delinquency Management

        Sanjay Mohapatra,Debasis Mishra KINFORMS 2010 Management Review Vol.5 No.2

This research paper focus into the most challenging aspect of any MFIs that is the evaluation of credit worthiness of a client prior to loan disbursement using credit scoring score card and collection of data regarding the repayment in a very cost effective way. Though this method of grass-root economic development has showed pledge throughout the world but conversely problems may arise if the proper systems are not in place to support the intensification of microfinance. If lending institutions are not well-versed about the credit-worthiness of potential clients, it can lead to negative effects on the performance of MFI loan portfolios and will result in over-indebtedness of clients.

Genotypic influence of a-deletions on the phenotype of Indian sickle cell anemia patients

        Sanjay Pandey,Sweta Pandey,Rahasya Mani Mishra,Monica Sharma,Renu Saxena 대한혈액학회 2011 Blood Research Vol.46 No.3

Background :Some reports have shown that co-inheritance of a-thalassemia and sickle cell disease improves hematological parameters and results in a relatively mild clinical picture for patients; however, the exact molecular basis and clinical significance of the interaction between a-thalassemia and sickle cell disease in India has not yet been described. There is little agreement on the clinical effects of a-thalassemia on the phenotype of sickle cell disease. Methods :Complete blood count and red cell indices were measured by an automated cell analyzer. Quantitative assessment of hemoglobin variants HbF, HbA, HbA2, and HbS was performed by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). DNA extraction was performed using the phenol-chloroform method, and molecular study for common a-deletions was done by gap-PCR. Results :Out of 60 sickle cell anemia patients, the a-thalassemia genotype was found in 18 patients. Three patients had the triplicated a-genotype (Anti a-3.7 kb), and the remaining patients did not have a-deletions. This study indicates that patients with co-existing a-thalassemia and sickle cell disease had a mild phenotype, significantly improved hematological parameters, and fewer blood transfusions than the patients with sickle cell anemia without co-existing a-deletions. Conclusion :Co-existence of a-thalassemia and sickle cell anemia has significant effects on the phenotype of Indian sickle cell patients.

Matrix metalloproteinase inhibitors identified from Camellia sinensis for COVID-19 prophylaxis: an in silico approach

Kanbarkar Nikita,Mishra Sanjay 경희대학교 융합한의과학연구소 2021 Oriental Pharmacy and Experimental Medicine Vol.21 No.1

To respond to the public panic, government and private research organizations of every country keep working on the COVID-19 pandemic, even though still there is a lack of more efcacious medicine for the choice of Coronavirus disease treatment. To counteract on this situation several approved drugs including anti-malarial (hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine), and few anti-viral (remdesvir) agents are choice of treatment for COVID-19. However, these agents sufer from certain limitation in their uses and pointed that there is no specifc treatment or vaccine available to counter this contagious disease. Hence, there is urgent requirement to fnd a specifc cure for the disease. In this view, there are several ongoing clinical trials of both western and traditional medicines. In present study, phytochemicals from Camellia sinensis were retrieved from the database and identifed based on their ability to inhibit matrix metalloproteinase (MMPs) against SARSCoV-2 main protease. Camellia sinensis entails of a massive number of phytochemicals with a good source of polyphenols such as Catechin, Epicatechin, Epigallocatechin and (–)-Epigallocatechin gallate. Molecular docking was performed using the GLIDE docking module of Schrodinger Suite software. The analysis displayed docking score for the fve polyphenols i.e. theafavin (−8.701), 1-O-cafeoylquinic acid (−7.795), Genistein (−7.168), Epigallocatechin 3-gallate (−6.282) and Ethyl trans-cafeate (−5.356). Interestingly, theafavin and Epigallocatechin 3-gallate have not revealed any side efects. These polyphenolic compounds had a strong binding afnity with hydrogen bonds and a good drug-likeness score. Therefore, Camellia sinensis could be the benefcial option in the prophylaxis of the COVID-19 outbreak.

Space of homeomorphisms under regular topology

        Mir Aaliya,Sanjay Mishra 대한수학회 2023 대한수학회논문집 Vol.38 No.4

In this paper, we attempt to study several topological properties for the function space $\hx$, space of self-homeomorphisms on a metric space endowed with the regular topology. We investigate its metrizability and countability and prove their coincidence at $X$ compact. Furthermore, we prove that the space $\hx$ endowed with the regular topology is a topological group when $X$ is a metric, almost $P$-space. Moreover, we prove that the homeomorphism spaces of increasing and decreasing functions on $\R$ under regular topology are open subspaces of $H(\R)$ and are homeomorphic.

A Universal Craniometric Index for Establishing the Diagnosis of Basilar Invagination

        Jayesh Sardhara,Sanjay Behari,Suyash Singh,Arun K. Srivastava,Gaurav Chauhan,Hira Lal,Kuntal K. Das,Kamlesh Singh Bhaisora,Anant Mehrotra,Prabhakar Mishra,Awadhesh K. Jaiswal 대한척추신경외과학회 2021 Neurospine Vol.18 No.1

Objective: The conventional criteria for defining the basilar invagination (BI) focus on the relationship of odontoid tip to basion and opisthion, landmarks that are intrinsically variable especially in presence of occipitalised atlas. A universal single reference line is proposed that helps in unequivocally establishing the diagnosis of BI, may be relevant in establishing both Goel types A and B BI, as well as in differentiating a ‘very high’ from ‘regular’ BI. Methods: Study design – case-control study. In 268 patients (group I with BI [n=89] including Goel type A BI [n=66], Goel type B BI [n=23], and group II controls [n=179]), the perpendicular distance between odontoid tip and line subtended between posterior tip of hard palate-internal occipital protuberance (P-IOP line) was measured. Logistic regression analysis determined factors influencing the proposed parameter (p<0.05). Results: In patients with a ‘very high’ BI (n=5), the odontoid tip intersected/or was above the P-IOP line. In patients with a ‘regular’ BI (n=84), the odontoid tip was 6.56±3.9mm below the P-IOP line; while in controls, this distance was 12.53±4.28 mm (p<0.01). In Goel type A BI, the distance was 7.01±3.78 mm and in type B BI, it was 5.07±4.19 mm (p=0.004). Receiver-operating characteristic curve analysis identified 9.0 mm (8.92–9.15 mm) as the cut-point for diagnosing BI using the odontoid tip-P-IOP line distance as reference. Conclusion: The odontoid tip either intersecting the P-IOP line (very high BI) or being <9 mm below the P-IOP line (Goel types A and B BI) is recommended as highly applicable criteria to establish the diagnosis of BI. This parameter may be useful in establishing the diagnosis in all varieties of BI.

Beneficial effect of phospholipase A2 group IIA inhibitors from Acacia suma in obesity: an in silico and in vitro study

Nikita Kanbarkar,Sanjay Mishra,Pukar Khanal 경희대학교 융합한의과학연구소 2020 Oriental Pharmacy and Experimental Medicine Vol.20 No.4

Acacia suma Roxb. (Fabaceae) is Ayurvedic medicine distributed in Karnataka, Bengal and Bihar region. Phytoconstituents of A. suma were retrieved from ChEIB databases and queried for phospholipase A2 group IIA inhibitors. The present study is an effort to find out a novel therapeutic solution for the management of obesity disorders. Out of 29 reported compounds three were identified in modulating phospholipase A2 group IIA inhibitor their drug likeness score andprobable gene expression was identified. Docking study was performed using autodock4.0 to predict binding affinity of phytoconstituents with phospholipase A2 group IIA inhibitor and compared with clinically proven drug ‘Orlistat’ as lipase inhibitor. The respected pathway to show networking between phytochemicals and target were analyse by kyoto encyclopedia of genes and genomes pathway analysis for regulated genes. Further, in silico findings were validated for hydroalcoholic extract of A. suma by in vitro lipase inhibition assay. Molecular docking result revealed the presence of three flavonoid compounds for lipase inhibition activity namely: (1) (5S,7R,8R,9R,10S)-(−)-7,8–seco-7,8–oxacassa-13,15-diene-7,17-diol (2) Fisetinidol-(4α,6)-gallocatechin and (3) Quercetin4′-O-α-l-rhamnopyranosyl-3-O-β-d-allopyranoside. However, Quercetin4′-O-α-l-rhamnopyranosyl-3-O-β- d-allopyranoside was predicted to possess the highest docking score i.e. − 7.6 kcal/mol with phospholipase A2 group IIA. The in vitro findings revealed significant anti-lipase activity with IC50 value − 46.07 μg/ml. Hence, the in silico and in vitro approaches has presented strong binding affinity and significant lipase inhibition activity respectively which supports antiobesity potential of heart wood hydroalcoholic extract of A. suma.

Aqueous processing of nickel spent catalyst for a value added product

Abdul Rauf Sheik,Malay Kumar Ghosh,Kali Sanjay,Tondepu Subbaiah,Barada Kanta Mishra,Abdullahi Aalafara Baba 한국화학공학회 2013 Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering Vol.30 No.2

Nickel was recovered from a fertilizer industry spent catalyst by leaching with nitric acid followed by nickel hydroxide precipitation. The optimization of temperature, initial acid concentration and particle size for leaching of the spent catalyst was done through 23 factorial design. A maximum extraction of 91.9% was achieved at 90 oC, 1.5M HNO3 and 62.5 μm particle size. Temperature and acid concentration showed positive effect, while particle size showed no effect. A regression equation was developed and employed to predict conditions for 100% extraction which were experimentally tested. Nickel hydroxide was electrochemically precipitated from the leach liquor and its maximum discharge capacity was found to be 155 mAh/g. A 3-stage counter current leaching circuit was designed to obtain a leach liquor of suitable pH. XRD characterization of the precipitated Ni(OH)2 shows to consist of both α- and β-forms.

Ligand mediated eco-friendly leaching of zinc from spent catalyst in alkaline media

        M. Mohapatra,Banaja Nayak,K. Sanjay,T. Subbaiah,B.K. Mishra 한국공업화학회 2014 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.20 No.4

A novel leaching process for recovering Zn from spent catalyst in alkaline solution has been discussed. The catalyst was characterized for physico-chemical properties by chemical, XRD, TG-DTA and SEM. More than 92% Zn could be extracted from spent catalyst under the conditions: pulp density 2.5% (w/v), NaOH 1 M, EDTA 0.025 M, temperature 80℃ and time 3 h. Zn extraction increased with the number of stages. At the 4th stage almost all Zn could be extracted. A tentative process flow-sheet has been proposed based on Zn recovery. Characterization of leach residue by XRD and SEM gave an insight into the mechanism.
