        식용곤충에서 최근에 식품공전에 등록된 갈색거저리 유충, 쌍별귀뚜라미 유충에 대해 일선 농가들이 식용곤충의 안정적 공급 및 유통을 위해 수확 후 건조 포장시 보관 유통기한을 설정할 필요가 있다. 건조된 갈색거저리, 쌍별귀뚜라 미 성상(분말, 건조물)을 용량 100g씩 PE, PET, 내습 포장지 등 포장재질에 진공, 밀봉포장을 한 후 저장온도를 45℃ 설정하여 2월 12일부터 3월 11일까지 1개월동안 가속실험을 실시하였다. 1개월후 시료 검체하여 품질 지표를 분석 조사한 결과, 밀봉포장에서 갈색거저리 건조물은 수분, 일반세균, 관능검사 등에서 PET+제습제, PE+제습제가 분말은 PE, PE+제습제 순으로 조사되었고 쌍별귀뚜라미 건조물은 PET+제습제, 내습포장제가 분말은 내습포장제만 기준치 이내로 조사되었다. 진공 포장에서 갈색거저리 건조물은 PE+제습제, 내습포장제가 분말은 PE, 내습포장제로 나타났으며 쌍별귀뚜라미 건조물은 PE+제습제, PET+제습제가 분말은 PET+제습제, 내습포장제 순으로 조사되었다. 특히, 쌍별귀뚜라미 분말은 밀봉, 진공포장 모두에서 일반세균 기준치(1,000cfu/g)가 이상을 보여 본 실험 포장재질로 는 유통이 어려운 것으로 나타났다.

      • Anti-Fibrotic Effects of Gut-Microbiome on Liver

        Aims: Treatment for liver cirrhosis is intended to slow the progression and deterioration of liver function. Although many studies have shown that microbiome is an important factor in improving liver disease progression through the gut-liver axis, the exact mechanism is still unknown. The microbiome in the gut regulates nutrient metabolism and immune response and interacts closely with the host if the gut microbiome can suppress the progression of liver cirrhosis and analyze clinical data. Therefore, our study aim is to suppress the progression of liver fibrosis due to the modulation of gut-microbiome. Methods: Liver cirrhosis in mice was induced by DDC (3,5-diethoxycarboncyl-1,4-dihydrocollidine) diet. 6-week-old male C57BL/6J mice were divided into 5 groups (n=10/group; normal, liver fibrosis-induced control, strain X, L. lactis, and UDCA). Strain X group was given the strain X twice a week [109 CFU/g, 4-week]. Gene expression was compared and analyzed through mRNA sequencing analysis of mouse hepatic stellate cells in the DDC model. Results: The Strain X showed improvement in the Staging level and Sirius red areas compared to the fibrosis group induced by the DDC diet (P<0.05). The levels of the liver fibrosis markers TIMP1 (P=0.02), Col1a (P<0.001), and TGF-ß (P<0.001) were decreased in the Strain X group compared with fibrosis models. When HSCs were isolated, expression of TIMP1 (P=0.38) and Col1a (P=0.055) decreased in strain X. Strain X compared to DDC in the mRNA sequencing, the up-regulated gene is Ecm1, Fos, Serpina1e and the down-regulated gene is Cd5l, Cd63, Marco (P<0.03). Conclusions: Strain X improved fibrosis by modulating the gut microbial composition in a mouse model induced cirrhosis.

        Lactobacillus attenuates progression of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease by lowering cholesterol and steatosis

        Background/Aims: Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is closely related to gut-microbiome. There is a paucity of research on which strains of gut microbiota affect the progression of NAFLD. This study explored the NAFLD-associated microbiome in humans and the role of Lactobacillus in the progression of NAFLD in mice. Methods: The gut microbiome was analyzed via next-generation sequencing in healthy people (n=37) and NAFLD patients with elevated liver enzymes (n=57). Six-week-old male C57BL/6J mice were separated into six groups (n=10 per group; normal, Western, and four Western diet + strains [10<sup>9</sup> colony-forming units/g for 8 weeks; L. acidophilus, L. fermentum, L. paracasei, and L. plantarum]). Liver/body weight ratio, liver pathology, serum analysis, and metagenomics in the mice were examined. Results: Compared to healthy subjects (1.6±4.3), NAFLD patients showed an elevated Firmicutes/Bacteroidetes ratio (25.0±29.0) and a reduced composition of Akkermansia and L. murinus (P<0.05). In the animal experiment, L. acidophilus group was associated with a significant reduction in liver/body weight ratio (5.5±0.4) compared to the Western group (6.2±0.6) (P<0.05). L. acidophilus (41.0±8.6), L. fermentum (44.3±12.6), and L. plantarum (39.0±7.6) groups showed decreased cholesterol levels compared to the Western group (85.7±8.6) (P<0.05). In comparison of steatosis, L. acidophilus (1.9±0.6), L. plantarum (2.4±0.7), and L. paracasei (2.0±0.9) groups showed significant improvement of steatosis compared to the Western group (2.6±0.5) (P<0.05). Conclusions: Ingestion of Lactobacillus, such as L. acidophilus, L. fermentum, and L. plantarum, ameliorates the progression of nonalcoholic steatosis by lowering cholesterol. The use of Lactobacillus can be considered as a useful strategy for the treatment of NAFLD. (Clin Mol Hepatol 2021;27:110-124)

      • Lipid production in <i>Porphyridium cruentum</i> grown under different culture conditions

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>Autotrophic growth of <I>Porphyridium cruentum</I> under 18:12?h and 12:12?h light:dark cycles showed the maximum cell concentration of 2.1?g-dry wt./L, whereas the specific growth rate, 0.042 (1/h), at 18:6?h is faster than that of 12:12?h, 0.031 (1/h), respectively. The highest lipid accumulation level, 19.3 (%, w/w), was achieved at 12:12?h cycle. Under dark cultivation condition with 10?g/L of glucose, the lipid accumulation in the cell was 10.9 (%, w/w), whereas the heterotrophic growth with glycerol as the carbon resource showed low level of cell concentration and lipid production, compared to that of glucose. The glucose was decided to be a suitable carbon resource for the heterotrophic growth of <I>P. cruentum</I>. The lipids from <I>P. cruentum</I> seemed be feasible for biodiesel production, because over 30% of the lipid was C<SUB>16</SUB>–C<SUB>18:1</SUB>. The cultivation time and temperature were important factors to increase the maximum cell concentration. Extending the cultivation time helps maintain the maximum cell concentration, and higher lipid accumulation was achieved at 25?°C, compared to 35?°C. The fed-batch cultures showed that, under the light condition, the specific production rate was slightly decreased to 0.4% lipid/g-dry wt./day at the later stage, whereas, under the dark condition, the specific production rate was maintained to be a maximum value of 1.1% lipid/g-dry wt./day, even in the later stage of cultivation. The results indicate that the heterotrophic or 12:12?h cyclic mixotrophic growth of <I>P. cruentum</I> could be used for the production of biodiesel in long-term fed-batch cultivation of <I>P. cruentum</I>.</P>

        LSTM 알고리즘을 활용한 전기 수요고객의 온라인 질문에 대한 토픽분류

        In response to questions or complaints posted by customers on the company"s homepage, the response time is an important measure of customer satisfaction. However, the time it takes for a customer to receive an answer includes a time for the article to be selected by the person in charge of the reply, which limits the shortening. In this study, we developed a model in which a machine, not a person, reads the article, classifies the topic, and delivers it to each person in charge of the article. The article posted on the KEPCO homepage used in this study is a short sentence consisting of an average of 49 words. Due to the scarcity of multi-frequency words, it was found that there is a limit in securing a certain level of topic modeling accuracy in unsupervised machine learning like LDA. To overcome this, we labeled topics and let the machine conduct supervised learning. Although there are limitations in improving accuracy because there are articles containing more than two topics in one article, the classification accuracy is secured up to 84% by using LSTM and Baysian Optimization. The result of this study suggests that topic classification is possible for short-term customer questions in specific fields such as the electric power industry. In addition, it is expected that a model will be developed that can provide optimal reference answers for newly received questions when the topic-labeled questions and answers are fully accumulated.

        의료영상 분석을 위한 기계학습

        현대의학에서 효과적인 질병의 진단 및 환자의 치료를 위해 의료영상은 매우 중요한 도구이다. 또한 영상기술 발달은 더욱 정교한 의료영상 데이터를 획득 가능하게 하고 있다. 그러나 이러한 정교함의 대가로 데이터의 양은 점차 방대해지고 있어 의료영상 데이터를 인간의 시각에 의존하여 분석하는 데 어려움이 많다. 따라서 최근 십여 년 동안 기계학습은 의료영상 자동 분석에서 필수적인 역할을 수행하여 왔다. 이 논문에서는 먼저 현대의학의 눈과 같은 다양한 의료영상의 역사, 원리 그리고 응용 분야를 살펴본다. 또한, 기계학습이 다양한 의료영상에 적용되는 최근의 기법을 소개한다. 예를 들어 의료영상 분할 (segmentation), 영상 정합(registration), 컴퓨터 보조 진단 시스템(CADx, CADe), 내용기반 검색(content based image retrieval)에서 적용된 기계학습 기법인 신경망(artificial neural network), 최근거리 이웃법 (k-nearest neighbors), 유전자 알고리즘(genetic algorithm), 가우시안 혼합 모델(gaussian mixture model), 개미군집 최적화(ant colony optimization), 조건부 엔트로피(conditional entropy), 두 학습 기법의 결합 방법 등이 있다. Medical images are exceedingly important means of diagnosing a variety of diseases and treating patients in current medicine. Advance of the new imaging technologies enables them to acquisite more detailed images. However, the amount of the image data is getting too bigger to analyze the images by only human visual inspection. Thus, over the past few decades, machine learning has been performing an essential role in the automated medical image analysis. In the paper, we first overview the history, principle, and applications of various medical images thought of as eyes of current medicine. In addition, we introduce the latest techniques of machine learning applied to medical images. For examples, artificial neural network, k-nearest neighbors, genetic algorithm, gaussian mixture model, ant colony optimization, conditional entropy, and fusion of two machine learning algorithms in segmentation, registration, and content-based medical image retrieval.

        베이지안 추론 방법을 이용한 새로운 그래프 매칭방법과 영상검색

        정확하고 효과적인 그래프 매칭 기법은 그래프 매칭을 이용한 내용기반 검색 시스템에서는 매우 중요하다. 우리는 베이즈(Bayes) 이론과 디리쉴레(Dirichlet) 분포를 이용한 새로운 그래프 매칭 알고리즘과 이를 이용한 영상 검색 시스템을 제안한다. 이를 위해 먼저 각 영상은 검출자(detector)에 의해 그래프로 표현되며, 그래프의 에지(edge)는 서술자(descriptor) 간의 거리로 나타낸다. 그런 후, 베이즈 이론과 디리쉴레 분포에 의해 두 그래프의 정점(검출자) 간의 매칭 정도를 나타내는 매칭행렬이 계산된다. 마지막으로 매칭행렬로 부터 볼록 최적화 알고리즘에 의해 최적 매칭관계를 찾는다. 여기서, 영상의 그래프표현은 다양한 변형에 강인한 MSER 영역 검출자와 스케일과 회전에 강인한 SIFT 서술자가 이용된다. 두 영상의 유사도는 검출자들 사이의 서술자를 이용한 상관계수로 대체된다. 영상 검색은 질의 영상과 데이터베이스의 모든 영상들을 매칭하여 유사도가 가장 높은 영상을 선택함으로써 수행된다. 우리는 제안 시스템의 평가를 위해 COIL-20 데이터베이스를 이용하였으며, 스펙트럴 매칭(spectral matching)을 이용한 검색 시스템과 비교하였다. 실험 결과 이 논문에서 제안한 새로운 그래프 매칭을 이용한 영상 검색 시스템은 기존의 스펙트럴 매칭을 이용한 검색 방법보다 우수한 성능을 보였다. An effective and accurate graph matching method is very important in content-based image retrieval systems using graph matching. In this paper, we propose an image retrieval system using a new graph matching algorithm based on Bayes theorem and Dirichlet distribution. To be more specific, each image is represented as a graph using nodes (detectors) and attributes of edges in the graph are assigned using the distance between two descriptors. Then, matching matrix is calculated to indicate the degree of matching between two node sets in different graphs using Bayes theorem and Dirichlet distribution. Last, the proposed algorithm searches for an optimal matching solution using convex relaxation algorithm from matching matrix. Here, we present an image as graph using MSER region detector which is robust to various transformations and calculate matching matrix using SIFT descriptor which is invariant against scale and rotation. Correlation between descriptors of two images is substituted for similarity between two images. Therefore, in retrieval phase, the system selects the images with high similarity by matching query image to each of all images in the database. We used COIL-20 database to test and evaluate the proposed system and compared our system with an image retrieval system using spectral matching method. The experimental results have shown that the proposed system based on a new graph matching algorithm achieves superior performance in comparison with spectral matching method.

      • Review of the genus Meganola Dyar (Lepidoptera: Nolidae) from Korea, with the description of one new species.

        The genus Meganola (Nolidae, Nolinae) was established by Dyar (1898), with the type species Meganola conspicua Dyar, 1898, from America (Type locality: Texas, Colorado, Arizona). This genus comprises 80 species described in the Palaearctic and Oriental region. In this study, genus Meganola Dyar is reviewed from Korea, with description of a new species. We redescribed 12 species and one new species. Illustrations of adults and genitalia of all Korean species are provided, with a key to the genus of Meganola based on the male genitalia.
