Application of CCPM to Construction Project
김영,이영대,김옥수,김성환,박혁,Kim Young,Lee Young-Dae,Kim Ok-Su,Kim Sung-Hwan,Park Hyeok Korean Institute of Construction Engineering and M 2003 건설관리 : 한국건설관리학회 학회지 Vol.4 No.3
The Theory of Constraints (TOC) is an approach and a philosophy that is used to develop specific management techniques. It was first popularized by the novel, The Coal, that applied the principles to operations management. Since 1997 it has found application in two areas within project management The first application is scheduling of a sing1e project to reduce project duration and simplify project control. there is a further application to allocate resources that are shared by concurrent project. It is the objective of this paper to explore the fundamentals of critical chain and to pursue an application of critical chain method to construction project by a case study.

Portal biliopathy is defined as abnormalities in the extra- and intrahepatic ducts and gallbladder of patients with portal hypertension. This condition is associated with extrahepatic venous obstruction and dilatation of the venous plexus of the common bile duct, resulting in mural irregularities and compression of the biliary tree. Most patients with portal biliopathy remain asymptomatic, but approximately 10% of them advance to symptomatic abdominal pain, jaundice, and fever. Magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography are currently used as diagnostic tools because they are noninvasive and can be used to assess the regularity, length, and degree of bile duct narrowing. Management of portal biliopathy is aimed at biliary decompression and reducing the portal pressure. Portal biliopathy has rarely been reported in Korea. We present a symptomatic case of portal biliopathy that was complicated by cholangitis and successfully treated with biliary endoscopic procedures. (Clin Mol Hepatol 2016;22:172-176)

Interestingly, the petals of flowering plants display unique hierarchical structures, in which surface relief gratings (SRGs) are conformably coated on a curved surface with a large radius of curvature (hereafter referred to as wavy surface). However, systematic studies on the interplay between the diffractive modes and the wavy surface have not yet been reported, due to the absence of deterministic nanofabrication methods capable of generating combinatorially diverse SRGs on a wavy surface. Here, by taking advantage of the recently developed nano fabrication composed of evaporative assembly and photofluidic holography inscription, we were able to achieve (i) combinatorially diverse petal-inspired SRGs with controlled curvatures, periodicities, and dimensionalities, and (ii) systematic optical studies of the relevant diffraction modes. Furthermore, the unique diffraction modes of the petal-inspired SRGs were found to be useful for the enhancement of the outcoupling efficiency of an organic light emitting diode (OLED). Thus, our systematic analysis of the interplay between the diffractive modes and the petal-inspired SRGs provides a basis for making more informed decisions in the design of petal-inspired diffractive grating and its applications to optoelectronics.

Background/Aims: Emerging evidence revealed that the metabolic syndrome (MeS) is associated with the risk of colorectal adenoma. In addition, the individual component of MeS may attribute the development of colorectal adenoma respectively. However, there was no previous study to evaluate whether the clustering of multiple components of MeS has a greater impact on risk of colorectal adenoma. Thus, we evaluate that relationship the colorectal adenoma and ``metabolic score``, the sum of the five metabolic syndrome components in age, sex, lifestyle and dietary factor adjusted model. Methods: Cross-sectional data from 126 cases (adenoma group) and 762 adenoma-free controls (control group) who underwent colonoscopies and completed lifestyle and dietary questionnaires at the Health. Promotion Center, Konkuk University Hospital, from July 2006 to June 2007, were used in this analysis. According to the modified ATP III criteria, metabolic syndrome was diagnosed. Multivariable logistic regression was used to estimate the association between ``metabolic score`` and prevalence of colorectal adenoma. Results: The prevalence for metabolic syndrome was 38% in the adenoma group and 24% in the control group. On the multiple logistic regression analyses, metabolic syndrome was found to be associated with increased risk of colorectal adenoma (odds ratio, 1.93; 95% confidence interval, 1.30-2.82). Also, age, sex, lifestyle and dietary factor adjusted odds ratios of colorectal adenoma for accumulation of component of metabolic syndrome of 0, 1, 2, 3, and 4-5 were 1.0 (referent), 2.25, 3.18, 3.64 and 9.28, respectively (95% confidence interval; 2.04, 42.20; p-trend<0.001). Conclusions: The risk of colorectal adenoma was increased as the components of the MeS were accumulated. The clustering of multiple components of MeS appears to have an additive effect on risk of colorectal adenoma.

The unique effects of highly conductive conducting polymer/SWNT (single walled carbon nanotube) composite nanoparticles in electric double layer capacitors are studied for the enhancement of the adhesive properties, specific capacitance and power characteristics of the electrode. Because the conducting polymer/SWNT composite material, which is believed to act as a polymer binder, an active material for charge storage and a conducting agent, is well distributed on the activated carbon, greatly enhanced adhesion properties, cell capacitance and power characteristics were obtained.
