Microstructure and Properties of Nano-Sized Ni-Co Particulate Dispersed Matrix Nanocomposites

In purpose of introducing the inverse magnetostrictive properties into the structural ceramics, based nanocomposites dispersed with nano-sized Ni-Co particles were studied. The composites were fabricated by the hydrogen reduction and hot-pressing of and NiO-CoO mixed powders. The mixtures were prepared by using Ni- and Co-nitrate as source materials for the Ni-Co particles. Microstructural observations revealed that nano-sized Ni-Co particles were dispersed homogeneously at grain boundaries. High strength above 1 GPa was obtained for the wt% Ni-Co nanocomposite fabricated by a controlled powder preparation process. The inverse magnetostrictive response to applied stress was obtained due to the presence of dispersed Ni-Co particles, which indicates a possibility to incorporate new functions into the structural ceramics without loosing the mechanical properties.
Structure and Properties for 28 GHz Microwave Sintered PZT Nanocomposites

Dense $ Pb(Zr, Ti)O_3(PZT)/Al_2O_3$ nanocomposites were prepared by the 28 GHz microwave heating method and conventional electric furnace sintering. Electrical and mechanical properties of the composites were investigated. The fracture strength of the PZT composites with 0.1vol% $Al_2O_3$ was significantly improved in both sintering methods. Smaller grain size and effective reinforcement of the PZT matrix by the second phase were considered to be responsible for the excellent fracture strength. Planar electromechanical coupling factor Kp of the composites sintered by 28GHz microwave heating was higher than that of the materical prepared by the conventional route. It seemed that the control of the reaction between PZT and $Al_2O_3$ by the microwave rapid sintering resulted in the high piezoelectric properties.

The discovery of carbohydrate-based bioactive compounds has recently received considerable interest in the drug development. This paper stresses on the application of 1-methoxy-O-glucoside as the central scaffold,whereas salicylic pharmacophores were introduced with diverse spatial orientations probing into the structural preference of an enzymatic target, i.e. protein tyrosine phosphatase 1B (PTP1B). By employing regioselective protection and deprotection strategy, 2,6-, 3,4-, 4,6- and 2,3-di-O-propynyl 1-methoxy-O-glucosides were previously synthesized and then coupled with azido salicylate via click chemistry in forming the desired bidentate salicylic glucosides with high yields. The inhibitory assay of the obtained triazolyl derivatives leads to the identification of the 2,3-disubstituted salicylic 1-methoxy-O-glucoside as the structurally privileged PTP1B inhibitor among this bidentate compound series with micromole-ranged IC50 value and reasonable selectivity over other homologous PTPs tested. In addition, docking simulation was conducted to propose a plausible binding mode of this authorized inhibitor with PTP1B. This research might furnish new insight toward the construction of structurally different bioactive compounds based on the monosaccharide scaffold.

녹차 추출물을 첨가한 Protein Film의 물성 및 어묵에 대한 산패 억제 효과

천연 항산화제인 녹차 추출물을 첨가하여 옥수수 단백 및 대두 단백 필름을 제조하여 물성을 측정하였고 이들 포장재를 사용하여 포장한 가공 식품의 지방 산패에 미치는 영향을 측정하기 위해 튀김 어묵을 대상으로 저장 실험을 하였다. 녹차 추출물을 함유한 필름의 경우 인장강도와 신장률은 감소하였으며 대두 단백 필름의 경우 녹차 추출물의 영향으로 Hunter b값이 증가하였으나 옥수수 단백 필름의 경우에는 감소하였다. 유지의 산패 측정을 위한 실험 결과, 저장 2일 후 H 어묵의 경우에는 녹차 추출물을 포함하고 있는 포장재로 포장한 것이 대조군에 비해서 옥수수 단백필름은 3.6 mg MDA/kg sample, 대두 단백필름은 3.6 mg MDA/kg sample, D 어묵의 경우 옥수수 단백필름은 1.6 mg MDA/kg sample, 대두 단백필름은 0.6 mg MDA/kg sample의 차이로 산화를 억제시키는 것으로 나타났다. To elucidate the effect of protein films containing an antioxidant on lipid oxidation of fish paste products during storage, zein and soy protein isolate (SPI) films containing green tea extract were prepared and their physical properties were examined. Tensile strength and elongation of the protein films decreased by the addition of green tea extract compared to the control. Due to the addition of green tea extract, SPI film had an increase in yellowness, but zein film had a decreased yellowness. Wrapping of fried fish paste products by the zein and SPI films containing the antioxidant retarded lipid oxidation at 2 day storage by 3.6 mg MDA/kg sample and 3.6 mg MDA/kg sample, respectively, for instant fish paste compared to the control. For processed fish paste, they decreased the degree of lipid oxidation by 1.6 mg MDA/kg sample and 0.6 mg MDA/kg sample, respectively.
