우즈베키스탄에서의 국제관광 동력: 그래비티 모델 실증분석

본 연구는 그래비티 모형을 활용하여 우즈베키스탄에 도착하는 국제 관광객의 증가요인을 알아본다. 이는 2006년부터 2014년까지 걸쳐 총 148개국으로부터 쌍방향으로 이동하는 표본을 그래비티 모델에 적용한 것이다. 연구결과는 우즈베키스탄의 국제관광은 전통적인 요인 (출신 국가 소득, 거리)에 높은 유의수준을 보였다. 나아가. 해당 연구 결과는 외교, 영사 서비스를 강화하는 것이 국제관광 촉진과 도착 관광객 수의 증가를 뒷받침 한다는 사실을 보여준다. 연구는 또한 비자제한을 시행하는 것이 최소 80% 도착 관광객을 감소시킨다는 것을 보여 준다. 동일한 부정적 효과는 자유도를 설명하는 대안의 회귀모델에서도 유효하다. This paper using gravity model identifies determinants of the growth of international tourist arrivals in Uzbekistan. It applies the gravity model to a dataset comprising bilateral tourism flows with the total sample of 148 countries spanning from 2006 to 2014. The results proved high significance of traditional determinants (income of origin country, distance) of international tourism in Uzbekistan. Furthermore, our results indicate that strengthening diplomatic and consulate services support international tourism promotion and increase of tourist arrivals. Not merely important finding shows, that imposing visa restrictions reduces tourist arrivals by at least 80%. The same negative effect is valid for alternative regression models that account for presence of zero observations.

The stay-green mutant of Arabidopsis thaliana,ore10 forms stable light-harvesting complex II (LHCII)aggregates during dark-induced senescence, which showed asingle base deletion (G1351) in the coding region of thepheophytinase (PPH) gene. PPH specifically dephytylatesthe Mg-free chlorophyll (Chl) pigment pheophytin, yieldingpheophorbide. In both ore10 and pph-1 mutants, pheophytina accumulated due to the deficiency of PPH gene, but theamount was relatively smaller than that of degraded Chl, andmost of the pheophytin a was bound to the stable LHCIIforming aggregates with some other Chl-protein (CP)complexes. Comparison of Chl a/b ratios in thylakoids,aggregates, and LHCII indicated that the suppression of Chlb to Chl a conversion was stronger when Chl b reductasewas missing and weak when PPH is missing in the large Chlcatabolic complex, which allowed the partial degradation ofChl b. These results suggest that the PPH-dependent pathway isnot specific for LHCII, but common for all CP complexes,including LHCII. In PPH-deficient mutants, the degradationof LHCII was suppressed by the formation of aggregates,and some of the remaining CP complexes and pheophytin awere included in the aggregates. Non-included CP complexeswere degraded via an unknown mechanism.

Photosystem I (PSI) is severely damaged by chilling at $4^{\circ}C$ in low light, especially in the chilling sensitive plant cucumber. To investigate the early events in PSI photoinhibition, we examined structural changes in the level of pigment-protein complexes in cucumber leaves in comparison with pea leaves. The complexes were separated on a native green gel and an increase in the intensity of a band was observed only in light-chilled cucumber leaves. The 77 k fluorescence emission spectrum of this green band indicated that the band was mainly composed of PSI with light-harvesting complex I. Each lane was cut from the green gel and separated on a fully denaturing SDS-PAGE in the second dimension. The new green gel band observed after light-chilling in cucumber leaves lacked 19, 18, and 16.5 kDa polypeptides. These results suggest that light-chilling facilitates the release of three peripheral polypeptides as an early event of chilling stress in vivo, which results in the inactivation of PSI in intact cucumber leaves.
Perimenstrual Epistaxis Caused by Nasal Septal Endometriosis: Very Rare Case Report

We present a case of localized nasal endometriosis to contribute to the literature. A primiparous, primigravida, 37-year-old female was diagnosed with nasal septal endometriosis in the presence of history of periodic epistaxis, nasal pain, and nasal fullness. After a nasal biopsy for exclusion of malignancy, a comprehensive general screening was performed on the recommendation of a gynecologist, definitive endometriosis was diagnosed, and oral treatment was initiated. Significant relief was reported in her nasal symptoms during the 1-year follow-up period. We report this case to demonstrate the importance of clinical awareness of periodic cyclic perimenstrual epistaxis, nasal lesions, and nasal pain as a cause of nasal septal endometriosis.

This research investigates the enhancement of inclusiveness in Uzbekistan’s online education system. It examines, through surveys and statistical analyses, how various factors influence the usage and satisfaction levels of online educational services among Uzbek internet users. Key findings include the negligible impact of internet connectivity on service usage and satisfaction, higher satisfaction levels among individuals with prior digital education experience, and notable differences in service consumption and satisfaction across gender and language groups. The study underscores the necessity for comprehensive policies that address not just technological aspects, but also sociocultural capacities. It highlights the importance of creating content markets tailored to women and Uzbek-only speakers and suggests implementing specialized digital training programs to elevate user satisfaction with online educational services.

Plants dissipate excess excitation energy from their photosynthetic apparatus by a process called non-photochemical quenching (NPQ). The major part of NPQ is energy dependent quenching (qE) which is dependent on the thylakoid pH and regulated by xanthophyll cycle carotenoids associated with photosystem (PS) II of higher plants. The acidification of the lumen leads to protonation and thus conformational change of light harvesting complex (LHC) proteins as well as PsbS protein of PSII, which results in the induction of qE. Although physiological importance of qE has been well established, the mechanistic understanding is rather insufficient. However, recent finding of crystal structure of LHCII trimer and identification of qE mutants in higher plants and algae enrich and sharpen our understanding of this process. This review summarizes our current knowledge on the qE mechanism. The nature of quenching sites and components involved in this process, and their contribution and interaction for the generation of qE appeared in the proposed models for the qE mechanism are discussed.
