SOLUTION TO ${\bar{\partial}}$-PROBLEM WITH SUPPORT CONDITIONS IN WEAKLY q-CONVEX DOMAINS

Saber, Sayed Korean Mathematical Society 2018 대한수학회논문집 Vol.33 No.2

Let X be a complex manifold of dimension n $n{\geqslant}2$ and let ${\Omega}{\Subset}X$ be a weakly q-convex domain with smooth boundary. Assume that E is a holomorphic line bundle over X and $E^{{\otimes}m}$ is the m-times tensor product of E for positive integer m. If there exists a strongly plurisubharmonic function on a neighborhood of $b{\Omega}$, then we solve the ${\bar{\partial}}$-problem with support condition in ${\Omega}$ for forms of type (r, s), $s{\geqslant}q$ with values in $E^{{\otimes}m}$. Moreover, the solvability of the ${\bar{\partial}}_b$-problem on boundaries of weakly q-convex domains with smooth boundary in $K{\ddot{a}}hler$ manifolds are given. Furthermore, we shall establish an extension theorem for the ${\bar{\partial}}_b$-closed forms.

THE ${\bar{\partial}}$-PROBLEM WITH SUPPORT CONDITIONS AND PSEUDOCONVEXITY OF GENERAL ORDER IN KÄHLER MANIFOLDS

Saber, Sayed Korean Mathematical Society 2016 대한수학회지 Vol.53 No.6

Let M be an n-dimensional $K{\ddot{a}}hler$ manifold with positive holomorphic bisectional curvature and let ${\Omega}{\Subset}M$ be a pseudoconvex domain of order $n-q$, $1{\leq}q{\leq}n$, with $C^2$ smooth boundary. Then, we study the (weighted) $\bar{\partial}$-equation with support conditions in ${\Omega}$ and the closed range property of ${\bar{\partial}}$ on ${\Omega}$. Applications to the ${\bar{\partial}}$-closed extensions from the boundary are given. In particular, for q = 1, we prove that there exists a number ${\ell}_0$ > 0 such that the ${\bar{\partial}}$-Neumann problem and the Bergman projection are regular in the Sobolev space $W^{\ell}({\Omega})$ for ${\ell}$ < ${\ell}_0$.

Root Proliferation, Proton Efflux, and Acid Phosphatase Activity in Common Bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) Under Phosphorus Shortage

        Saber Kouas,Ahmed Debez,Tarek Slatni,Nahla Labidi,Jean Jacques Drevon,Chedly Abdelly 한국식물학회 2009 Journal of Plant Biology Vol.52 No.5

The impact of phosphorus (P) availability on root proliferation, proton efflux, and acid phosphatase activities in roots and leaves was investigated in two lines of common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris): BAT 477 and CocoT. Phosphorus was supplied as KH2PO4 at 0 and 60μmol per plant (0P and 60P, respectively). Under P shortage, the plant growth was more restricted in CocoT than in BAT 477, shoots being more affected than roots. The root area increased significantly at 0P in both lines. Up to 1 week following P shortage, the proton efflux increased in both lines despite a higher extent in BAT 477 as compared to CocoT. Root acid phosphatase activity was significantly higher under P limitation in the both lines, this trend being more pronounced in BAT 477 than in CocoT. This was also true for the leaf acid phosphatase. Regardless of the bean line, higher values were recorded for the old leaves as compared to the young ones for this parameter. Interestingly, a significant correlation between Pi content in old leaves and their acid phosphatase activity was found in P-lacking (0P) plants of the both bean lines, suggesting that acid phosphatase may contribute to increase the phosphorus use efficiency in bean through the P remobilization from the old leaves. As a whole, our results highlight the significance of the root H+ extrusion and the acid phosphatase activity rather than the root proliferation in the relative tolerance of BAT 477 to severe P deficiency. GLOBAL SOLUTIONS FOR THE ${\bar{\partial}}$-PROBLEM ON NON PSEUDOCONVEX DOMAINS IN STEIN MANIFOLDS

Saber, Sayed Korean Mathematical Society 2017 대한수학회지 Vol.54 No.6

In this paper, we prove basic a priori estimate for the ${\bar{\partial}}$-Neumann problem on an annulus between two pseudoconvex submanifolds of a Stein manifold. As a corollary of the result, we obtain the global regularity for the ${\bar{\partial}}$-problem on the annulus. This is a manifold version of the previous results on pseudoconvex domains.

Phytochemical/Antioxidant Properties and Individual/Synergistic Actions of Salvia officinalis L. Aqueous Extract and Loperamide on Gastrointestinal Altering Motor Function

        Saber Jedidi,Kais Rtibi,Slimen Selmi,Foued Aloui,Houcine Selmi,Dalanda Wannes,Houcem Sammari,Nourhe`ne Dhawefi,Abbes Chaaˆbane,Hichem Sebai 한국식품영양과학회 2019 Journal of medicinal food Vol.22 No.12

Medicinal plants are known by pharmacological relevance and were used for long time to prevent/treat numerous gastrointestinal (GI) disorders. The current study focuses on the phytochemical/antioxidant characteristics of sage aqueous extract (SAE), as well as its pharmacological actions on altering motor function in the intestine and related disruptions. In vitro phytochemical/antioxidant properties were investigated by colorimetric/biochemical methods. Male rats were divided into seven groups of six animals in each: control (C), castor oil (CO), CO + loperamide (LOP, 10 mg/kg, b.w., p.o.), CO + various doses of SAE (50, 100, and 200 mg/kg, b.w., p.o.), and the mixture (MIX: SAE, 50 mg/kg, b.w., p.o. + LOP, 5 mg/kg, b.w., i.p.) group. In vivo GI/physiological/pharmacological actions of SAE were explored based on the watery/frequent stools, enteropooling, and GI transit time, as well as their associated disturbances. The aqueous extract of S. officinalis contains high tannins/flavonols/anthocyanin contents and a strong, free radical scavenging activity (EC50 = 48.56 ± 0.34 μg/mL). SAE/MIX significantly reduced CO-induced diarrhea in a dose-dependent manner. SAE/MIX decreased also the gastric and intestinal mucosal malondialdehyde/hydrogen peroxide levels and preserved the normal activities/levels of enzymatic/nonenzymatic antioxidants. Added to that, we showed that SAE/MIX pretreatment provided stability of lipid profile (cholesterol and triglycerides), hepatic transaminases, renal injury indicators, and C-reactive protein/alkaline phosphatase levels changed by CO intoxication. These findings suggested that SAE/MIX exerted benefic individual/synergistic effects confirming their use as a strategy in the treatment of GI physiological disorders.

Hepato-Nephroprotective Actions of Salvia officinalis Decoction Extract Against Extraintestinal Alterations Induced with Acetic Acid-Colitis Model in Rats

        Saber Jedidi,Kais Rtibi,Houcine Selmi,Foued Aloui,Nourhe`ne Dhawefi,Hichem Sebai 한국식품영양과학회 2023 Journal of medicinal food Vol.26 No.6

Inflammatory bowel disease is associated with multiple extraintestinal disorders, including hepato-nephrological disruptions. The aim of this study was to evaluate the hepato-nephroprotective effect of Salvia officinalis leaf decoction extract (SLDE) on acetic acid (AA)-induced colitis accompanied with liver and kidney injuries. Wistar albinos rats were pretreated with SLDE (50, 100, and 200 mg kg−1, b.w., p.o.) during 10 days and intoxicated for 24 h by acute rectal administration of AA (3%, v/v, 5 mL kg−1, b.w.). Our results showed that S. officinalis treatment protected against AA-induced liver and kidney injuries by plasma transaminase activities and preservation of the hepatic and renal tissue structures. The level of high-density lipoprotein-cholesterol was also reverted back to near normalcy by treatment. Lipid peroxidation was decreased significantly by officinal sage supplementation. Treatment with SLDE increased enzymatic (superoxide dismutase, catalase, and glutathione peroxidase) and nonenzymatic (–SH groups and reduced glutathione) antioxidants in liver and kidney tissues. Also, SLDE treatment significantly protected against inflammation markers and reversed all intracellular mediator perturbations. This study suggests that the S. officinalis has a beneficial effect in controlling kidney and liver injuries by reducing lipid peroxidation and increasing antioxidant enzyme activities and nonenzymatic contents, which reduce the risk of developing extraintestinal complications.

Effect of including n-3/n-6 fatty acid feed sources in diet on fertility and hatchability of broiler breeders and post-hatch performance and carcass parameters of progeny

Saber, Seyyed Naeim,Kutlu, Hasan Rustu Asian Australasian Association of Animal Productio 2020 Animal Bioscience Vol.33 No.2

Objective: The present trial was conducted to determine the influence of different dietary fatty acid (omega-3 and omega-6) sources on reproductive performance of female broiler breeders and growth performance and carcass traits of their progeny. Methods: Two hundred and twenty, 25 weeks old Ross-308 male (20) and female (200) broiler breeders were used in the experiment for the period of 6 weeks. All birds were randomly divided into four dietary treatments (containing 2% soybean oil, 2% sunflower oil, 2% flaxseed oil, and 2% fish oil) each with five replicates of one male and ten females. Throughout this experiment hatching performance of broiler breeders, progeny growth performance and carcass parameters were recorded. Results: The results showed that the inclusion of different fatty acid sources in female broiler breeders diet had no significant effects (p>0.05) on number of fertile eggs, post-hatch mortality, and fertility rate. The soybean oil supplemented group had significantly (p<0.05) higher late embryonic mortality compared to other three treatments. Conclusion: It was concluded that inclusion of 2% of different sources of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids (especially 2% flax seed oil) in broiler breeders' diet can reduce late embryonic mortality. The other reproductive characteristics of parents and growth and carcass characteristics of progeny remained unaltered by dietary sources of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids.

Design and Implementation of Direct Torque Control Based on an Intelligent Technique of Induction Motor on FPGA

        Saber Krim,Soufien Gdaim,Abdellatif Mtibaa,Mohamed Faouzi Mimouni 대한전기학회 2015 Journal of Electrical Engineering & Technology Vol.10 No.4

In this paper the hardware implementation of the direct torque control based on the fuzzy logic technique of induction motor on the Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) is presented. Due to its complexity, the fuzzy logic technique implemented on a digital system like the DSP (Digital Signal Processor) and microcontroller is characterized by a calculating delay. This delay is due to the processing speed which depends on the system complexity. The limitation of these solutions is inevitable. To solve this problem, an alternative digital solution is used, based on the FPGA, which is characterized by a fast processing speed, to take the advantage of the performances of the fuzzy logic technique in spite of its complex computation. The Conventional Direct Torque Control (CDTC) of the induction machine faces problems, like the high stator flux, electromagnetic torque ripples, and stator current distortions. To overcome the CDTC problems many methods are used such as the space vector modulation which is sensitive to the parameters variations of the machine, the increase in the switches inverter number which increases the cost of the inverter, and the artificial intelligence. In this paper an intelligent technique based on the fuzzy logic is used because it is allows controlling the systems without knowing the mathematical model. Also, we use a new method based on the Xilinx system generator for the hardware implementation of Direct Torque Fuzzy Control (DTFC) on the FPGA. The simulation results of the DTFC are compared to those of the CDTC. The comparison results illustrate the reduction in the torque and stator flux ripples of the DTFC and show the Xilinx Virtex V FPGA performances in terms of execution time.

Stability analysis of a parametrically excited functionally graded piezoelectric, MEM system

        Saber Azizi,Mohammad-Reza Ghazavi,Siamak Esmaeilzadeh Khadem,Jie Yang,Ghader Rezazadeh 한국물리학회 2012 Current Applied Physics Vol.12 No.2

In this paper the mechanical behavior of a parametrically actuated functionally graded piezoelectric (FGP) clampedeclamped micro-beam is investigated. The micro-beam is supposed to be a composite material with silicon and piezoelectric base. The mechanical properties of the structure, including elasticity modulus, density, and piezoelectricity coefficient are supposed to vary along the height of the micro-beam with an exponential functionality. It is supposed that the FGP clampedeclamped microbeam is actuated with a combination of direct and alternative electric potential difference. Application of DC and AC actuation voltage leads in a constant and a time-varying axial force. The governing differential equation of the motion is derived using Hamiltonian principle and discretized using expansion theorem with the corresponding shape functions of a clampedeclamped beam. The discretized system is governed by Mathieu equation which’s stability is investigated using Floquet theory for single degree of freedom systems and verified using multiple time scales of perturbation technique.

Worldwide prevalence of fungal coinfections among COVID-19 patients: a comprehensive systematic review and meta-analysis

        Saber Soltani,Milad Zandi,Samireh Faramarzi,Ramin Shahbahrami,Mohebat Vali,Sara Akhavan Rezayat,Reza Pakzad,Pooneh Malekifar,Iraj Pakzad,Neda Jahandoost,Jalal Moludi 질병관리본부 2022 Osong Public Health and Research Persptectives Vol.13 No.1

Microbial coinfections can increase the morbidity and mortality rates of viral respiratory diseases. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the pooled prevalence of fungal coinfections in coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients. Web of Science, Medline, Scopus, and Embase were searched without language restrictions to identify the related research on COVID-19 patients with fungal coinfections from December 1, 2019, to December 30, 2020. A random-effects model was used for analysis. The sample size included 2,246 patients from 8 studies. The pooled prevalence of fungal coinfections was 12.60%. The frequency of fungal subtype coinfections was 3.71% for Aspergillus, 2.39% for Candida, and 0.39% for other. The World Health Organization’s Regional Office for Europe and Regional Office for Southeast Asia had the highest (23.28%) and lowest (4.53%) estimated prevalence of fungal coinfection, respectively. Our findings showed a high prevalence of fungal coinfections in COVID-19 cases, which is a likely contributor to mortality in COVID-19 patients. Early identification of fungal pathogens in the laboratory for COVID-19 patients can lead to timely treatment and prevention of further damage by this hidden infection.
