Correlations Between Fasciology and Yin Yang Doctrine

        Hui Tao,Mei-chun Yu,Hui-ying Yang,Rong-mei Qu,Chun Yang,Xin Zhou,Yu Bai,Jing-peng Wu,Jun Wang,Ou Sha,Lin Yuan 사단법인약침학회 2011 Journal of Acupuncture & Meridian Studies Vol.4 No.2

The aim of this study is to explore the correlations between fasciology and yin yang doctrine. Professor Yuan developed fasciology by three-dimensional reconstruction of connective tissue (fascia) in the trunk and limbs of the human body and tracing back to tissue origins in light of biological evolution and developmental biology. Fasciology states that the human body can be divided into two systems: the supporting-storing system and the functional system. This article elaborates on the roles of the two systems and their mutual relationship. The two systems are used to analyze the yin,the yang, and their relationship. The two systems are promoted but also restricted in different contexts. The supporting-storing system is formed by undifferentiated connective tissue and provides undifferentiated cells and nutrients for differentiated cells of the functional system. Thus, the supporting-storing system could be classified as quiet, similar to yin. The functional system continuously maintains the various functional activities of the human body. Thus, the functional system could be classified as active, similar to yang. In interpreting the yin yang doctrine from the point of view of fasciology, yin can be compared with the supporting-storing system and yang can be compared with the functional system.

A Study on Fiber Laser Lap Welding of Thin Stainless Steel

Rong-Tai Yang,Zhi-Wei Chen 한국정밀공학회 2013 International Journal of Precision Engineering and Vol. No.

This study analyzed variations of shear strength that depend on the fiber laser process during lap welding of AISI 304 stainless thin sheets. The experimental plan was based on a Taguchi orthogonal array table. A hybrid method that includes the response surface methodology (RSM) and back-propagation neural network (BPNN) integrated genetic algorithm (GA) are proposed to search for an optimal parameter setting of the lap welding process. The results show that the RSM and BPNN/GA methods are both effective tools for the optimization of lap welding process parameters. At the same time, an analysis of variance (ANOVA) was implemented to identify significant factors influencing the lap welding process parameters. In addition, the micrographs also show that the appropriate setting of the laser power, befitting the penetration depth and welding line length of the fusion zone sections were produced. A confirmation experiment was also conducted in order to validate the optimal welding process parameter values.

      • IGF-1 from Adipose-Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells Promotes Radioresistance of Breast Cancer Cells

        Yang, Hui-Ying,Qu, Rong-Mei,Lin, Xiao-Shan,Liu, Tong-Xin,Sun, Quan-Quan,Yang, Chun,Li, Xiao-Hong,Lu, Wei,Hu, Xiao-Fang,Dai, Jing-Xing,Yuan, Lin Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2014 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.15 No.23

Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate effects of adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells (AMSCs) on radioresistance of breast cancer cells. Materials and Methods: MTT assays were used to detect any influence of AMSC supernatants on proliferation of breast cancer cells; cell migration assays were used to determine the effect of breast cancer cells on the recruitment of AMSCs; the cell survival fraction post-irradiation was assessed by clonogenic survival assay; ${\gamma}$-H2AX foci number post-irradiation was determined via fluorescence microscopy; and expression of IGF-1R was detected by Western blotting. Results: AMSC supernatants promoted proliferation and radioresistance of breast cancer cells. Breast cancer cells could recruit AMSCs, especially after irradiation. IGF-1 derived from AMSCs might be responsible for the radioresistance of breast cancer cells. Conclusions: Our results suggest that AMSCs in the tumor microenvironment may affect the outcome of radiotherapy for breast cancer in vitro.

Whole Cell-mediated Biocatalytic Synthesis of Helicid Cinnamylate and Its Biological Evaluation as a Novel Tyrosinase Inhibitor

        Rong-ling Yang,Xi Chen,Yu-ye Song,Qian-lin Zhu,Muhammad Bilal,Yu Wang,Zheng Tong,Ting-ting Wu,Zhao-Yu Wang,Hong-zhen Luo,Xiang-jie Zhao,Ting-ting He 한국생물공학회 2022 Biotechnology and Bioprocess Engineering Vol.27 No.3

Tyrosinase inhibitors are clinically effective for treating some dermatological disorders related to melanin hyperpigmentation. Accordingly, the discovery and development of tyrosinase inhibitors have great value in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industry. Here, a novel tyrosinase inhibitor, 6′-O-cinnamoyl-helicid (helicid cinnamylate) was successfully synthesized by a simple and effective biocatalytic approach with Aspergillus oryzae cells. Investigation of the effects of several key variables on helicid cinnamylate synthesis found that the reaction conversion, reaction rate and regioselectivity reached 99%, 9.40 mM/h and > 99%, respectively, at the optimal conditions with anhydrous acetone as the solvent, whole-cell concentration of 40 mg/mL, and the molar ratio of vinyl cinnamate to helicid of 10 at 45°C. The whole-cells retained 68.87% of its initial activity after reusing for seven batches, indicating a potent application potential in non-aqueous biocatalytic systems. It was worth noting that helicid cinnamylate demonstrated a more potent tyrosinase inhibitory activity with an IC50 value of 3.55 mM than helicid (IC50 = 4.48 mM) and arbutin (IC50 = 5.48 mM), which suggest that helicid cinnamylate could be developed as a more potential tyrosinase inhibitor. In conclusion, this study provides a novel whole-cell catalytic approach for the synthesis of helicid cinnamylate and insight into its application as a tyrosinase inhibitor.

      • Applying Artificial Neural Network to Fault Diagnosis of Analogue Circuit

Yang, ZhEng Rong,Musgrave, G. 대한전자공학회 1993 ICVC : International Conference on VLSI and CAD Vol.3 No.1

In this paper, we have applied artificial neural networks to fault diagnosis of analogue circuits. The experiments presented have proved that the artificial neural network can be used both for catastrophic faults and parametric faults. We have applied three artificial neural network, models to the fault diagnosis of DC, frequency, parametric, and steady state response. Two important techniques are introduced for the selection of artificial neural network models. These two techniques are: pattern distinction and quantity factor graph.

      • Vibration analysis of CFST tied-arch bridge due to moving vehicles

        Yang, Jian-Rong,Li, Jian-Zhong,Chen, Yong-Hong Techno-Press 2010 Interaction and multiscale mechanics Vol.3 No.4

Based on the Model Coupled Method (MCM), a case study has been carried out on a Concrete-Filled Steel Tubular (CFST) tied arch bridge to investigate the vibration problem. The mathematical model assumed a finite element representation of the bridge together with beam, shell, and link elements, and the vehicle simulation employed a three dimensional linear vehicle model with seven independent degrees-of-freedom. A well-known power spectral density of road pavement profiles defined the road surface roughness for Perfect, Good and Poor roads respectively. In virtue of a home-code program, the dynamic interaction between the bridge and vehicle model was simulated, and the dynamic amplification factors were computed for displacement and internal force. The impact effects of the vehicle on different bridge members and the influencing factors were studied. Meanwhile the acceleration responses of some of the components were analyzed in the frequency domain. From the results some valuable conclusions have been drawn.

Modeling and Optimization in Precise Boring Processes for Aluminum Alloy 6061T6 Components

Rong-Tai Yang,Yung-Kuang Yang,Hsin-Te Liao,Show-Shyan Lin 한국정밀공학회 2012 International Journal of Precision Engineering and Vol. No.

This investigation applies a Taguchi orthogonal table, integrating response surface methodology (RSM) to optimize parameters of a precise boring process using a computer numerical control (CNC) machine operation for the production of aluminum alloy 6061T6 components. By applying RSM analysis, the predictive mathematical model of the roughness average and roundness were developed in terms of the cutting speed, feed rate, and depth of cut. The error analysis and experimental results indicate that the proposed predictive mathematical models could adequately describe the performance indicators within the limits of the factors that are being investigated. In addition, the analysis of variance (ANOVA) was implemented to identify the significant factors and the response surface contours were constructed for determining the optimum conditions of precise boring processes using CNC machine operations.

Damage identification in beam-like pipeline based on modal information

        Yang, Zhi-Rong,Li, Hong-Sheng,Guo, Xing-Lin,Li, Hong-Yan Techno-Press 2007 Structural Engineering and Mechanics, An Int'l Jou Vol.26 No.2

Damage detection based on measured vibration data has received intensive studies recently. Frequently, the damage to a structure may be reflected by a change of some system parameters, such as a degradation of the stiffness. In this paper, we apply a method to nondestructively locate and estimate the severity of damage in corrosion pipeline for which a few natural frequencies or mode shapes are available. The method is based on the strain modal sensitivity ratio (SMSR) and the orthogonality conditions sensitivities (OCS) applied to vibration features identified during the monitoring of the pipeline. The advantage of these methods is that it only requires measuring few modal parameters. The SMSR-based and OCS-based damage detection methods are illustrated using computer-simulated and laboratory testing data. The results show that the current method provides a precise indication of both the location and the extent of corrosion pipeline.
