Simulation of Distributed Key Management Protocols in Clustered Wireless Sensor Networks
Jibi Abraham,K S Ramanatha 보안공학연구지원센터 2007 International Journal of Security and Its Applicat Vol.1 No.2
In Wireless Sensor Network security has to be mainly provided to two types of communications: one-to-all and one-to-one. This paper proposes a complete set of low complexity protocols to initially generate and distribute two types of secret keys, periodically renew the keys and change the keys based on cluster dynamics. They are designed for a clustered hierarchical network suitable for data aggregation and all the communications in the protocols are properly authenticated using Elliptic Curve Digital Signature scheme. The security analysis shows that the protocols are strong against several possible attacks. The protocols are implemented for TinyOS using NesC, simulated under TOSSIM and are viable for implementation in resource-constrained platforms like MICA. A major outcome of our simulation is the observation that most of the time rekeying is done because of cluster dynamics. It is therefore suggested that implementing proper authentication protocols and batch rekeying protocols reduce the number of times rekeying is performed, resulting in longer life of the network.

<P>Abstract</P><P>The present study reports isolation and characterization of eight polymorphic microsatellite markers for <I>Zingiber officinale</I> Rosc. (Ginger). A total of 34 alleles were detected across the 20 accessions, with an average of 4.3 alleles per locus. Values for observed and expected heterozygosities ranged from 0 to 1.0 and from 0.23 to 0.67, respectively. The heterozygote deficits were observed at three loci. At the significance threshold (<I>P</I> < 0.05) of the eight loci, seven were found to have deviated from Hardy–Weinberg equilibrium, whereas significant linkage disequilibria were observed between 10 pairs of loci. Our data indicate the existence of moderate level of genetic diversity among the ginger accessions genotyped with eight markers.</P>

Analysis of Genetic Diversity of Korean Wheat Cultivars Using Microsatellite DNA Polymorphisms
Park,Yong-Jin,Cho,Gyu-Taek,Ma,Kyung-Ho,Lee,Sok-Young,Lee,Jung-Ro,Kim,Young-Chang,Cho,Eun-Gi,Kim Chang-Yung,Nam,Jung-Hyun,Rao,V,Ramanatha,Kang,Hee-Kyoung 한국자원식물학회 2004 Plant Resources Vol.7 No.2
Genetic background and phylogenetic relationships among 20 Korean wheat cultivars were assessed using microsatellites after amplifying with 13 SSR primer pairs. Average allele number per primer pair was 3.36. Genetic similarities for every pair of cultivars ranged from 0.42 to 0.97, with 0.69 of overall average. Korean cultivars were divided into two major groups based on microsatellite DNA polymorphisms. Group I consisted of relatively old cultivars developed until 1970s, and group II contained the recent cultivars developed during 1980s and 1990s. Amongst old elite cultivars/lines, ‘Yukseung 3’, ‘Norin 12’ and ‘Norin 72’ contributed most to the genetic background of cultivars belonging to group I, and ‘Norin 4’, ‘Norin 12’, ‘Norin 43’ and ‘Norin 72’ to group II, respectively. The phylogenetic relationship of Korean wheat cultivars was in accordance with the genealogical data of each cultivar. The genetic background of each cultivar was assessed from the point of breeding and germplasm management such as variety identification and duplicated accessions for assisting in developing a system for the registration of new variety based on the molecular characterization in future.
