We have proposed an InGaAs-based gateall-around (GAA) tunneling field-effect transistor (TFET) with a stacked dual-metal gate (DMG). The electrical performances of the proposed TFET are evaluated through technology computer-aided design (TCAD) simulations. The simulation results show that the proposed TFET demonstrates improved DC performances including high on-state current (Ion) and steep subthreshold swing (S), in comparison with a single-metal gate (SMG) TFET with higher gate metal workfunction, as it has a thinner sourcechannel tunneling barrier width by low workfunction of source-side channel gate. The effects of the gate workfunction on Ion, the off-state current (Ioff), and S in the DMG-TFETs are examined. The DMG-TFETs with PNPN structure demonstrate outstanding DC performances and RF characteristics with a higher n-type doping concentration in the In0.8Ga0.2As source-side channel region.

<P>In this work, we present the simulation results for nitride-based fin-shaped field-effect transistors (FinFETs) using a technology computer-aided design (TCAD) device simulator. The FinFET has received attention for its applications in replacing high electron mobility transistors (HEMTs). AlGaN/GaN-based devices have outstanding electrical performances because of their high carrier density and high electron mobility in the two-dimensional electron gas (2DEG). Therefore, AlGaN/GaN-based double heterojunction FinFET (DH-FinFET) has been designed with double 2DEG layers to improve the on-state current (I-ON). However, the designed device has a critical problem in suppressing the enhancement of the I-ON. This phenomenon is called the two-dimensional hole gas (2DHG) which is formed as the opposite polarization charge by the 2DEG. As compared with the AlGaN/GaN-based single channel FinFET (SC-FinFET) which has a current of 548 mA/mm, the I-ON value of the AlGaN/GaN-based DH-FinFET is similar value of 578 mA/mm. AlN is used to increase the I-ON value of the SC-FinFET and obtained I-ON value of 988 mA/mm. This value is higher than that of AlGaN/GaN-based SC-FinFET. For this reason, we proposed the AlN/GaN-based DH-FinFET to improve I-ON. AlN/GaN-based DH-FinFET which has a higher I-ON value at V-GS = 7 V than AlN/GaN-based SC-FinFET.</P>

노보비오신은 동물용의약품 중 약산성 항생제이며, 우리나라의 경우 선진국에 비해 항생제의 사용이 높은 만큼 동물용의약품의 잔류 사례는 계속해서 증가하고 있다. 이에 따라 식품 중 잔류동물용의약품의 안전관리를 위해 축산 식품 중 닭고기, 소고기 및 우유에서 노보비오신에 대한 HPLC-UVD를 이용한 잔류 분석법을 확립하였다. 각 시료 일정량에 메탄올을 가하고 균질화하여 대상 성분을 추출하고 액-액분배법으로 지방성분을 제거한다. 대상성분이 추출된 여액을 실리카 카트리지를 이용하여 정제한 다음 HPLC-UVD로 분석하였다. 확립된 시험법의 정량한계와 직선성은 CODEX 기준에 적합한 수준으로 각각 0.02 ㎎/㎏과 0.999(r²)이었으며 회수율은 닭고기, 소고기 및 우유에서 각각 88.8±5.6-100.3±4.4, 88.8±7.2-97.0±3.2 및 88.1±4.3-92.8±3.6%이었다. 본 연구에서 확립된 노보비오신의 시험법은 동물용의약품의 안전관리를 위한 공정시험법으로 활용될 것으로 기대된다. Novobiocin is a coumarin-containing antibiotic, and has a longer half-life in various animals than other veterinary medicines. A simple and rapid high-performance liquid chromatography assay for the determination of residual novobiocin levels in chicken, beef and milk has been developed and validated. The separation condition for HPLC/UVD was optimized by a MG Ⅱ C₁? (4.6 ㎜ ID×250 ㎜, 5 ㎛) column with 0.1% formic acid in H₂O/0.1% formic acid in Acetonitrile (40/60, v/v) as the mobile phase at a flow rate of 1.0 mL/min and the detection wavelength was set at 340 nm. Residues were extracted from tissue by blending with methanol. After liquid-liquid partitioning, lipid materials were removed with n-hexane and purification as Silica (1 g, 6 mL) cartridge with 10 mL acetone/dichloromethane (10/90, v/v). Limit of quantification and linearity performed by the analytical method were 0.02 ㎎/㎏ and 0.999 (r²), and the recovery range was 88.8±5.6-100.3±4.4, 88.8±7.2-97.0±3.2 and 88.1±4.3-92.8±3.6%. It is expected that this analytical method with regards to novobiocin in chicken, beef and milk could be applied as an official method to administer food safety on veterinary medicines.

<P>There have been a number of reports of dietary supplements contaminated with illegal adulterants that threaten consumers' health because of their adverse pharmacological effects. In the present study, a convenient and economic method was developed to detect illegal pharmaceutics, such as PDE-5 inhibitor and appetite suppressants, using liquid chromatography (LC)/photodiode array (PDA) for screening and LC/mass spectrometry (MS) for successive confirmation. Target peaks were identified by comparison of their chromatographic retention times and PDA spectra with those of synthetic standards and finally confirmed by LC/MS. As a result, tadalafil, a PDE-5 inhibitor, and N-desmethylsibutramine, a derivative of sibutramine, were detected in various dietary supplements at concentrations of 13.5-21.9 mg and 3.0 mg per single dose, respectively. The present study will contribute to the development of an analytical method enabling rapid screening of a variety of health foods, and the result suggests that consumers should be aware of serious health risks related to these illegal compounds.</P>

This study was developed and validated for the determination of oxyclozanide residue concentrations in beef and commercial milk, using high-performance liquid chromatography system. Oxyclozanide was successfully separated on a reverse phase column (Xbridge-C18, 4.6×250 ㎜, 5 ㎛) with a mobile phase composed of acetonitrile and 0.1% phosphoric acid (60:40, v/v%). This analytical procedure involved a deproteinization process using acetonitrile for beef and 2% formic acid in acetonitrile for commercial milk, dehydration by adding sodium sulfate to the liquid analytical sample, and a defatting process using n-hexane; after these steps, the extract was exposed to a stream of nitrogen dryness. The final extracted sample was dissolved in the mobile phase and filtered using a 0.45 ㎛ syringe filter. This method had good selectivity and recovery (70.70±7.90-110.79±14.95%) from the matrices. The LOQs ranged from 9.7 to 9.8 ㎍/㎏ for beef and commercial milk. The recoveries met the standards set by the CODEX guideline.
Two unknown Species of Family Heliozelidae (Lepidoptera) from Korea

The family Heliozelidae belonging to Incurvarioidea, which is relatively primitive group, includes very small-sized moths with forewing length of 3-9mm, comprising 12 genera and about 106 species in the world (Heppner, 1991). It has a worldwide distribution mainly in the Nearctic and Australian regions. In Asia, thirteen species belonging to three genera of the family were reported from Japan, but almost it has not been known from Korea. Just one species, Antispila purpulella Kuroko, was recorded by Lee & Byun (2007). The family are leaf-miners through the larval stage and include several pests of fruit trees, such as grapes and apple. Larvae of Coptodisca splendoriferella (Clemens, 1859) mine into twigs of apple trees in America (Needham et al., 1928). In Japan, Antispila uenoi Kuroko, 1987 is known as a pest of grapes (Ueno, 1987). At least 13 plant families including Vitaceae, Cornaceae and Fagaceae have been reported as host plants of Heliozelidae (Davis, 1999). In this study, two unknown species, Heliozela castanella Kuroko, and H. limbata Lee et al., of the family Heliozelidae was reported based on the material collected from Prov. Gyeongnam and Gyeonggi.
Oleoylethanolamide induces eosinophilic airway inflammation in bronchial asthma

Asthma is a chronic eosinophilic inflammatory disease with an increasing prevalence worldwide. Endocannabinoids are known to have immunomodulatory biological effects. However, the contribution of oleoylethanolamide (OEA) to airway inflammation remains to be elucidated. To investigate the effect of OEA, the expression of proinflammatory cytokines was measured by RT-qPCR and ELISA in airway epithelial (A549) cells. The numbers of airway inflammatory cells and cytokine levels in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid, airway hyperresponsiveness, and type 2 innate lymphoid cells (ILC2s) were examined in BALB/c mice after 4 days of OEA treatment. Furthermore, eosinophil activation after OEA treatment was evaluated by measuring cellular CD69 levels in eosinophils from human peripheral eosinophils using flow cytometry. OEA induced type 2 inflammatory responses in vitro and in vivo. OEA increased the levels of proinflammatory cytokines, such as IL-6, IL-8, and IL-33, in A549 cells. In addition, it also induced eosinophilic inflammation, the production of IL-4, IL-5, IL-13, and IL-33 in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid, and airway hyperresponsiveness. OEA increased the numbers of IL-5- or IL-13-producing ILC2s in a mouse model. Finally, we confirmed that OEA increased CD69 expression (an eosinophil activation marker) on purified eosinophils from patients with asthma compared to those from healthy controls. OEA may play a role in the pathogenesis of asthma by activating ILC2s and eosinophils.
